I think you’re forgetting kings counter hit play

Jun in very easy is straight up stupid, yeah maybe the Fujin Jun that spams strings is very easy, but that's not how real Jun is played. She has 3 stances that she can cancel out of with various moves, the mindgame she has to use to win are far more complicated than nearly all of the cast, her low game is just pokes without a single really threatening move, you really need to earn an opponent ducking as a Jun player by winning neutral interactions. People are also wrong when they say she is bad; she is not easy and she is quite good. This tier list overally is straight up a reddit/twitter ecochamber it feels like..

Alisa is braindead. Maybe at lower levels. But Anakin himself said that optimising her chainsaws at high levels is not at all easy. So I don't what you mean by braindead here. Kinda shows you just go with the flow with whatever twitter and reddit had to say about characters without actually providing your own thoughts on inputs. Part of the reason why I don't like these videos where a online player with absolute no experience of playing at tournaments has to say about 30 odd characters even wh n you yourself don't main all of them.

Asuka (and in extension, Jun) are designed for easy pickup, but they're not really easy if you want success competitively. So yes, they are easy to pick up, but not easy to win with. When you fight them, you kind of fight the player and not the character.

I don’t know if I agree that Lili is harder than Jin. Like you said Wavedash and Electric are difficult enough, but Jin’s combos are also pretty tough to pull off (advanced combos not sample ones). Lili has so much range, she can hit you a mile away with that cartwheel

I just started playing tekken 6 a week ago with my cousin and Lee was the easiest one to get easy wins, bruce works without hard combos, julia kinda op with good speed on easy inputs. But Leo for me is one hell of a character to control with all those multiple inputs on every little combos still happens to be my favourite.

I think this tekken 8 character difficulty tierlist doesn't take into account how much characters rely on fundamental tekken and how strong their fundamental tekken is very much. Yeah Hworang takes time to master with his many stances and many moves, but the counterpoint seems to be that you don't really have to learn how to play the other facets of the tekken game very well until you're pretty much in Tekken King. It's damn hard to find even a Tekken King Hwo that has any defensive knowlege because his offensive flowcharts can be so overwhelming. Legitimately, how hard is it to play a character with a 14f high that is +5 on block. Especially when you're playing at the levels where people don't even know the properties of that button, it's literally free mmr. Xiao is on a similar boat as HWO, just a little harder. I think she could be intermediate. I don't know how king can be considered hard. IMO he's got very strong buttons to play with at most levels of play. FF neutral 2 is kind of a god low. F2,1 is a god whiff punish. DF2,1 is the best counterhit in the game as it's 13f and basically tracks to both sides in neutral. What aspects of King are weak? His sidestep, his KBD (his regular BD is pretty good) this stuff isn't even things people are using until high blue ranks. if you don't think king is hard, then watch coney get to Purple rank in 4 days with him. Watch Dokibird beat Eskay with him. King's offensive flowchart WILL just roll someone over until they actually lab the matchup and learn how to fight them. I feel like nina should be probably in average just because there are either the string spammer ninas or the godlike hiyashida step nina's and they go all the way up the rank ladder. IMO, bryan's pokes are not weak at all, his 1,2 string can take you a really long way with it's utility. Most people aren't ducking df2,1 and he can easily step or try to take his turn back after. The strings he gets form his install are very strong etc.

King harder than Jin, Paul & Raven 🤣

I have to disagree with you about heihachi, he is not as hard as kazuya in my opinion. I believe heihachi has 14f/ 15f homing attack which is b3,2/ b3,3. That move is really good for tracking and kinda makes the opponent guess high ender or mid ender. Heihachi has better poking and range than kazuya too, and his pressure is better too, he also has ff1+2 which is like every other mishima's ff2. His execution is easier if we are not talking about golden sparks. And i believe in tournaments, ppl wont be aiming for golden sparks bcuz its not consistent, and even without golden sparks, the blue sparks are giving enough damage and it is consistent which is more important. He also has b1+2 long duration parry with only -11f i believe, ff2 which in high ranks ppl still dont punish it so he gets away with it, hellsweep mixups, unbreakable throws, wind god kamae 2 which high crush and sometimes evade mids for some reason, his db2 also sometimes evade mids. His combo is way easier and gives much more damage compared to kazuya, he can do 3x to 4x electrics into f3 and then apply the rest of the combo, into wall = 100 - 110 damage. His heat dash combo can deal around 120 damage, which is the same like Kazuya's df2 perfect electric combo that is very very hard to do compared to heihachi. Heihachi's warrior instinct is basically a free comeback token once per match. Heihachi has so many tools to pressure and to rush down opponents and eventho opponent knows the match up, it is still harder for kazuya to dominate the round compared to heihachi

Yeah, Lars is easier than average, especially with those combos you have to do sometimes cause you can easily drop them. Just because he has DEN 3 doesn't mean he is easy. Bryan being one of the hardest is cap.

Alisa's chainsaws are a Guess for your life stance. True. Let's face it T8 is "50/50 the Game" BUT when you say there is NOTHING to do on defense vs them you are talking total BS. If you guess right and don't shut down those Chainsaws and give the Alisa player another roll of the dice for free ... that's on you my Guy ! How you don't understand this after playing her is beyond me.

What level of play do you mostly have in mind for this list bc there is huge variance in ease of pubstomping versus breaking into the top5% in terms of difficulty. I mostly agree with your list but have some big "disagreements" but I also get that there are sooo many factors to consider. I know it would also make this a 3 hour long video to have separate lists for execution/gameplan/difficulty to learn. A lot of the easier characters on the list literally do have optimals that have as much or more frame perfect requirements as the top of the list, but the focus seems to be on "oh they are ez to pubstomp with" as if the top of the list cannot do the same thing. But ig if the move itself doesnt have a df+2 on the same frame then having to time your float not one frame early and not frame late is still easy? Heihachi for example can get his entire optimal with zero frame perfects, but instead of 115 damage you get 107 and it wont be a deciding difference in 90% of rounds. Kuma pubstomps with little execution but mixes himself as much as his opponent once you are past purple ranks bc one duck or mash means he loses the round. i guess I am just pointing out the many variables is all. I agree with your list almost entirely and the points you brought up but ig I just wonder why execution/gameplan/conditioning/knowledge requirements matter more than the others when it comes to each persons own way they weigh the factors. I am just imagining some Steve for example really feeling himself getting to mighty ruler off d2,1 into grab/guardbreak/lowpoke/launch (that never gets properly punished at that level) while telling his friends how he plays such a hard character and has never done a single thing that actually makes the character difficult near the top ceiling. Same with kazuyas spamming strings to purple pretending they have ever landed a SS pewgf after ws2.

I love Yoshi ( I’ve never mained him) just for the sake of him being a legacy character, and it is a really cool character , but this MF is broken AF, and the players maining him will NEVER ADMIT he is broken.

One thing to note is that “difficulty” is only meaningful in so far as the level of effort you actually need in order to achieve results. That being said, character’s gameplans can vary tremendously in efficiency depending on your opponent’s ability. Meaning that sometimes an otherwise suboptimal strategie can become genuinely unbeatable such as snake edge spam against a warrior rank. So “How much effort does a player need to invest in order to achieve a result” will always depend on the average ability of your opponents. This is why you’ll hear some completely opposite opinions such as Bryan either being braindead or galaxy brain depending on who you ask.

Eddy is my main and yes we have to work hard but he’s better in 8 than 7. Eddy is more of a rush down character that forces the 50/50 mix up. He has great pokes and keep out tools if you want to play a defensive type of game.

So apparently a character like asuka and jun plays the game for you but Eddy doesn't? Eddy should be in very easy not in average lol, king and Yoshi are not that difficult both should be in easier than average or average and the bears should be a tier above. Tbh this tier list all over the place

I have a ton of respect for your tier list until you got to Alisa. Chainsaw’s are punishable, check the frames and learn the match before speaking on the Alisa character. Of course you’ll say she needs to be nerfed. Just learn the match up.

Claudio is very cheesy btw u can literally get wins by doing side step 4 or sidestep back 1 all game it’s so strong especially by the wall and u always have that annoying hop kick still have running 2 df2 aswell Claudio is definitely cheesy

Feng an all around character but you have to learn him all around to succeed with him

steve harder than kazuya is just pure cope lol. he bypasses the need to learn movement which is the hardest thing in the game hes ling tier at most. hes not difficult hes just hard to climb with because he has some of the worst punishment in the game there is a difference

dvj main here, fundamentally he is not harder than kazuya or heihachi or reina since he is so basic fundamentally... but his new gimmicks are so much worse than all the new stuff the other characters have in tekken 8 that hes just so weak and hard to win with in comparison

Kazuya and Hwo are overrated. You can make it pretty far with limited skill whereas Asuka peaks very early if you don't actually have a gameplan

Steve is not more difficult than Kazuya and (especially) Devil Jin. Maybe because I played him alot in T7. But he's definitely up there. Besides the Mishimas and (arguably) Bryan...

King is way harder to play at a high level than people think. Jin carried me way farther than King did. There is a reason you rarely see him in high ranks.

As a raven main putting him on average difficulty is criminal. Definitely way harder than the characters in the orange difficulty. The understanding you need to make backturn and soul zone effective is crazy. It takes so mutch time to not get constantly screwed over by backturn. You need to respect everything and making people respect you is hard and he needs that to impose his gameplan especially on backturn in which people don't give a damn and press all the time so you have to make them respect you to be effective with backturn and one of the worst things is when raven randomly decides to get up on backturn and you get punished for it bad.
