I've been waiting for Lidia since the game came out, and I think she's pretty great. I'm definitely not a Tekken expert, but at least so far, I feel like every time I dig a little deeper with her I feel like I discover something cool with her that I didn't know I could do, which isn't true of every character I've picked up in this game.
I feel like her stances remind me more of Steve. She's like a more full commitment, mixup focused version of Steve with the same feeling of flowing between flicker, crouch, peekaboo etc. Same issues with weak lows
@@Boogard She definitely has a ton of pressure game, but I feel like I personally do best with her when I play her like I play Jin: explosive in bursts. I'm nothing special, but I think with everyone expecting unga-bunga, a smart playstyle will go far with her.
I think playing super aggro is the way to go with her tbh. She doesn't really have good range bar a couple decent whiff punish buttons. Her good lows like db3 require you to be basically in the opponents face for it to even be a threat. I like to pile on the plus frames, stay in the opponents face, mix in the db3 power low and then try and get counter hits when I feel like the opponent is gonna try and mash out of my pressure.
Imo Lidia is one of the best new characters in the series, she looks great and represents traditional karate with perfection. Saying she feels clunky is weird since she uses karate, a style known for being blocky, precise and, at times, robotic with movement. Her stance rushdowns just feel NASTY!!! She should get a small buff to her kit of lows, keep them bad but at least usable
Having played Reina, I really like how Lidia plays, and it feels pretty natural to me. While she felt more rigid comared to Reina's transitions, that rigidity didn't really get in the way, like I feel Jin's does (it's why it has taken me some time to try Jin). I am looking at trying her parries out to see how to use them in my game plan, but I definitely feel I can play decently with her as is. Trying to learn the better transitions and stuff I can do with them like how I can with Reina. So yeah, honestly Lidia is a fun character for me, and going to be my trio I run with. Reina, Lidia and Heihachi, with Asuka as a secondary.
Funny I play Jin exclusively but I've been considering picking up both Reina and Lidia because I like their style. One a heihachi without heihachi and the other because I'm obviously a karate nut
Maybe I'm just crazy, but for the little I've played Lidia, I've been playing her very light in the stances. And I'm saying this as a Victor main who loves his Iai stance. Maybe once I get more used to her I'll get more into the stances. Still absolutely love her smile though 💕.
You honestly kinda have to since her raw stances are pretty risky You gotta got do buttons that transition into stance Kinda like victor’s perfumer 2,2 into iai stance

Landing a Heaven and Earth parry on people mashing feels godlike lol. She isn't clunky but she has a super heavy onboarding phase where you are figuring out which moves go into which stances and what you can do from each stance. Starting to figure her out after a few hours online.
Well, I’m still bouncing between characters (I’m a fairly new player, so I haven’t figured out a main yet), so I might as well try her out. I generally take a character to Garyu and then try another out - I feel like it’s enough to give me a feel for a character’s playstyle without fully committing. I honestly hit random a lot to figure out who I’ll go for next, but Lydia looks like a lot of fun
Lidia is the first character I stuck to learning in T7 as I always was intimidated by the big movelist despite playing Tekken previously. Felt nice but I never really got it going with the character online. But now I feel that I want to spend more time because they’ve added her again and I enjoy her a lot in this game as I did previously. But I am still on the dilemma of if I want to play online because I don’t feel like I learn much playing online because I’m not that good at Tekken and when I have played online I will only play mashers which makes it really difficult for me. It’s not like street fighter where I can deal with it easily. This is really my first time truly playing Tekken compared to other times I’ve dabbled with the series

Not such a fan of the pressure-oriented gameplan but I miss Kazumi. Her karate really pops this game in a way it didn't in Tekken 7. That in mind, will be trying her out. Hopefully she has some decent defensive options.
Lidia is mainly a rushdown character. Even in t7 she was but her defensive options are very fun to use because she has sick parries and stance cancels that help you evade and whiff punish

I actually like her db3. Of course its not strong on paper but you have to keep in mind that nobody ducks against lidia and its homing. And db344 is one of the best knowledge check strings in the game, its like eddys 333 string in lower ranks. And i see pros do db3 often.

She feels like Manon in SF6. Kinda weak in the first round but once you get her stacks she will blow you up in later rounds. Her combo damage gets absolutely nutty
I’ve been playing Lidia since she was released, right now I’m Garyu. The only complaint I have about her is that I can’t find a combo or safe ways to link her Rage art or her Heat smash
...i really wish there was more push back on Namco for Universal Rage Art inputs, especially if you have a button mapped for them...the unintentional RA's are terrible 😣
I think a lot of people have “you know who” on their mind which could be a reason why people wouldn’t use her or may not be that interested. Plus Tekken has a ton of stance characters so I could see how someone would choose another over her. But she has some interesting moves and I’m sure someone who sticks with her and who may or may not have already played her in T7 will destroy me and everyone else

I played her t7. Lidia didnt belong in this game. I havent lost to one yet due to her stiff boring style. She just looks trash. I think shes bottom 5 next to panda. All of her moves are jab interruptable and most of her stances are negative with little variation.
Nah, dragunov feng and nina are not that far away of the other characters. It seems to me that You don't know bad balanced Games, like Tekken 5 had Steve with infinite combos and Tekken 4 Jin has a broken strings with an unblockable Last hit.

I've mained Steve since the T8 launch, and she feels a lot more similar to him than I expected.

lidia i think shouldn't be played defensively, she needs to be right up her opponent's face and do mixups with her stances but thats just my opinion

It’s taken me a day and a half to reach the top of red with her. Stupid fun, and gonna shoot for Tekken Emperor at least.

Although her d2 isn’t the best, you can get good use off counter hit. You get a guarantee fc 2 heat engager. Something to keep in mind
