Thank youI also took a chance with Rutherford recently… haven’t tried it but based on your reaction, I think I will wait for my oak juice loving friends to visit me at a bbq. In past, I didn’t have a lot of luck with Kirkland Brunellos. For some reason, they always felt short and underwhelming (though the nose was great like you said).

Very informative. Curious as to whether you re-tasted the Brunello a few hours later, and if so, how was it after decanting?

Thumbs up for the tasting. I’ve had the Chablis a few years past, and did buy a case. I may have one or two bottles left. I bought one or two bottles of the Brunello, but have yet to open them. I’m now curious about the vintage, I’ll check tomorrow. I always pass on the CA Cabs. I did pick up a case of Cote du Rhone (not Kirkland) from Costco last week. I tried a bottle first before going back for more. A solid bottle for $9.99. I appreciate you continuously taking one for the team with the CA Cabs and Red Blends. I am hopeful you continue to do it, and just as hopeful you will discover a good one. I assume they are making wines in a style that the customer wants. If I’m honest I was probably one of them 20 years ago.

Speaking of Italian wines, I would love to watch your reviews of Amarone, Barbera, Montepulciano de Abruzzo, and my favorite..Dolcetto. Enough of the wines that need 20 years aging before drinking.

Hi Peter, Thanks for the info. Had the Brunello a few weeks ago, and ya, I too thought it a little tough, but after sitting in the glass a few hours. Much better. I felt the oakness fell off a little, which I thought helped. At least for me. No more available around me, so only 1 left to hold. As always: Enjoy the sunshine held together by water.🍷

I used to visit High Time almost weekly many years ago ( before wife and kids!), and Todd used to run the wine bar. He is such a good guy and so passionate about wine AND cheese! A few months ago, I opened a 2019 Anita La Rochelle, and that is one amazing wine as well. I am glad most do not know about Cru Beaujolais, as they offer great quality at much lower price than Burgundy.

I would have loved the Gamay Rouge when I was in high school.

Another great video; I had no idea that gamay is vinified in such a unique manner. Wow, had no idea that gamay could generate such a great wine like the French one you tasted; hope I can find it.

Interesting, I have only had Beaujolais (Gammay) from the 10 crus’. And in good years is very much like Burgundies. Never any Gammay grapes from the U.S. Great info.🍷 And as always: Enjoy the sunshine held together by water🍷

The Wines are: 2022 Skouras Moscofilero Arcadia Peloponnese $19.99, 2017 Artemus Karamolegos Assyrtiko #34 Ancestral Vines Santorini $39.99 and 2016 Artisan Vignerons Naoussa $19.99

Some notes about GO wines. First, every location is different. South Lake Tahoe has a large selection. Truckee and Incline Village have tiny selections and rarely rotate in new stuff. Second, any wine made by Cal-Wine Trading Company are made specifically for and sold only to GO. The comparison prices for these wines can only be found on the website, which is only created to give high comparison prices. But there are great finds there. For a long time they had Evolution (sokol-blosser) Lucky No. 9 White for $5 a bottle. Lincourt Sta Rita Hills Chard for $8/bottle. Currently EQ Coastal Sauv Blanc (Chile) at $4/bttle is quite nice
