Peter, great review. I remember you saying in the MS introductory course that you don’t have to spend a lot to get good wine. Thanks for making it easier to find it.
Thank you Mr. Neptune for the excellent video. I have learned so much in this short time. Enjoyed the take on these four wines and keep the vids coming.
Yes! These wines are always sold out. I was lucky to get my hand on Klein Constantia, and am waiting for an occation to try it with blue cheese. A few years ago, I was drinking a Chateau Thivin and I had some raspberries and blackberries and I started to eat the berries and drink the wine (order reversed as well). The combination was so delicious! I wonder why no one recommends pairing berries or fruit with a wine which has the same flavor profile? Is it because it is too obvious? I never see it done though.
Another great video, my only complaint, and it’s not your fault, is that I can never find these wines at my Costco here in Michigan, but I’ll keep looking. Cheers
In my opinion, you've been crushing it on YT. 😃 Thank you so much for more Kirkland wine reviews. It looks like I need to bump my price point a bit above $10, but seems like it will be worth it. I'll be picking up as many of those first 3 as I can find this weekend. Thanks again, please keep it up (your Aldi and TJ wine reviews are great too).
So disappointing that Costco in Ontario doesn't sell wine. They do in Alberta and other provinces. At that price, the Vacqueyras is a steal! Thanks for another great video
I totally respect and understand your opinion about confected wines, but I’m having one tonight with a steak and wild mushroom risotto and it works really well. And, it doesn’t give one a headache! Hahaha 😂
Many wines - especially many CA wines - have residual sugar (confected). Many are made using a formula (manipulated) that evidently many wineries think is successful. Is it that many Americans grew up drinking Kool Aid, Vanilla Yoohoo, chocolate milk, fruit juice, etc? Are these wine made because that is what our palates want, or are they being fed to us because that is what the wineries think we want and therefore that is what is available and that is what we buy? And out palates then want that residual sugar and Kool-Aid like texture and fruitiness? Look, people are free to drink what they like. For me, I want wine to taste lile wine, not fruit juice. So when I review wines, that is where I'm coming from.

Thank you for your positive review!

Thank you! More coming!
In Neptune we trust! Your opinions help so much navigating the minefield of buying wines without tasting them!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!!!

Its usually because the fruit has a level of sweetness to it and sweetnees makes a dry wine seem even more drying and bitter.
Tried the Russian River Kirkland Pinot Noir 2023. It agreed with my palette very well.
Good to hear.

Thank you so much for your encouragement and positivity.
Really appreciate aging potential of the wines you taste. My palette agrees with yours on the Vacq
Awesome. Thanks for watching!
Got a case of the Vacqueyras today. Looking forward to uncorking one tomorrow. Thanks for your reviews!
Good for you! Very good wine. Thanks for watching!
My Costco does not have any Vacqueyras …😢

Hey if it works for you, great.
Good review, sir! Do you think the Kirkland Toscana is the same as the Trader Joe’s Casone Toscana wine?
Not sure. I will have to look into that.
Confected and manipulated - can you define these terms a little better.

@ I really appreciate your response. Have you ever seen a label where they admitted adding sugar, in countries that allow it?
@@georgek.1498 it's not so much that they are adding sugar but that the wines are not fermenting to dryness, leaving residual sugar or rs
