Great video, love the background you provide on the different residual sugar levels, and the relationship between sugar, acid, and our taste perception. You mentioned “can’t do an hour video” early on…don’t hold yourself to that, I’d appreciate more educational content. Cheers 🌺🙏🍷🌺😊😊
Great info thank you. There is so much more to this than I would have expected. Thanks for reviewing some specific bottles. If I can find that Selbach Mosel Riesling "Incline", I'm starting there.
Great question. It really depends on the Pradikat Level, the Producer and the style. But in general Mosel Rieslings are fairly low in alcohol with Kabinett, Spatlese and Auslese between 8 - 11 %
Thank you for doing a German Riesling tasting as asked. I am glad you included Ferdinand Richter. I have tried a few of their wines and the quality is unbelievable especially given the price. I am curious, what happens to the wines tasted? I hope they go for a good cause!
Great question. I usually give them to colleages, students or my friend who shoots the videos. I keep one or two for myself and drink them with the appropriate cusine.
Brings back memory of tasting this wine with Erni over curry, satay and Pad Thai. Thank you Peter! Did you pick up any “Mosel Spritz” from this lineup?
All I can add is that I spent the night in a home on the slopes of the Moselle but was not offered any of the vintages you tasted. The families owned small percentages of the vineyards, passed down in the family. I’m not a big fan of heights! Haha 🤣
The Wines are: 2022 Selbach Mosel Riesling “Incline” Dry $12.99, 2023 Max Ferdinand Richter Riesling Veldenzer Elisenberg Kabinett Mosel $23.99, and 2022 Dr. Loosen Riesling Urziger Wurzgarten Spatlese $28.99

Thank you!
These videos are so great. Couldn’t subscribe quickly enough! Perfect length, perfect balance of info and geekiness. 99 points!
It is hard not to love the wines from the Mosel!
Love em!!!
Awesome video! Mosel Rieslings are so good!
Thanks for watching!

Well yes that is usually due to the high acidity!
Hi, have you done any reviews on the Rheinhessen region? Thank you
Not yet but I plan to. Thank you for the suggestion!
Is it true all Mosel is in green bottles, and rhine in brown?
Hmmmmm not sure if that is still the case, it certainly used to be that way.
I’m still new to wine but does Germany produce red wines?
Yes. The best is usually Spatburgunder (Pinot Noir)
Another excellent, informative video!!!! Thank you so much.
Thank you for watching!
Just commenting to coax the algorithm. Great video as usual, thanks Peter!
Thank you for that. Stay tuned!!!

Some of those vineyards like Wehlener Sonnenhur and Erdener Pralat are 40 degrees plus!
