I'm still hoping that a professional version comes to the Switch 2.

I played it on gamepass and because it was a such a long game and I hadn’t finished it at the time I bought a physical copy on a Black Friday sale in case it left gamepass. Turns out it was a good move because my wife decided to play through it earlier this year after it left gamepass and now i have it for the collection

I would like to see what it looks like on pc. It would be nice to have it on ps5 or xbox. Might still happen; at the end of the day it is a good thing for DQ fans because it will bring in a bigger audience with the pc port.

On one hand, I'm glad the Dark Prince is becoming somewhat multiplatform for more people t play the game without being forced to buy a switch to do so. But on the other hand, it would've been nice if they at least give us an expansion or additional monsters to obtain. Guess I'll just wait for a new game. That is if it's gonna be localized giving Square's ignorance with Dragon Quest...

I finished the game recently. I really liked it, is not the best but is enjoyable for fans, for not fans I don’t think so so that’s the fault of the mass appeal

Oh by the way while not related with the direct, DQM The Dark Prince got a steam port for $40 on September 11th, it also bundled in the dlc without it being separate but there might not be online battles

Thank you for covering the Xbox platform. Us JRPG fans on Xbox are starving :) Excited for Square Enix’s full support going forward. One point to add here, both Dragon Quest XI and III remake are play anywhere, so if you purchase you also get licence to play on PC.

You should talk about Dragon Quest’s relationship with Sony in the west and Japan like you did with Xbox in this video. And then maybe later Nintendo as well would be lit

Unless they plan on doing cross save somehow yeah I aint buying it again. Starting over would be such a pain

1) SQEX got their hands full as of right now with DQ that don’t need explaining 2) it’s likely the Optimization for this game to be the best shape for PC is the reason why they’re taking their time with it. Fixing bugs,fps,etc.

The Dragon Quest game I've ever played was Terry Wonderland 3D on 3DS. What gotten me to get into the series was simply it's variety of monsters/bosses wheather from mainline or spinoffs. The fact the Monsters subseries is basically DQ5 on cocaine and I love it so much. Ngl, when it comes to getting into the main games, it was kinda hard to get into a them aside from maybe 5 or 9. Though, I really wanna try DQ10 of all games for some reason despite being an MMO (And Japanese only). I sure hope they localize 10 Offline at some point (And maybe add more monsters to the Dark Prince, but can't get my hopes up).

Try out Builders 2 that game is much better than the first one. It also has a better story and fleshes out Hargon and Malroth as characters as well as connecting DQII to certain DQ installment that I would not say unless you played the game yourself

Dragon warrior 2 is one of the best games and some say hardest for the system it’s on in the entire genre. You have to remember that the Dragon warrior series brought more innovation to the genre than the Final Fantasy series did

Honestly I can understand the name tweak for Isis. It’s dumb but it’s not something worth stirring up potential hassle over. You don’t want your game, even inadvertently, making these kinds of associations to sensitive topics you weren’t intending to reference. Sometimes as a creator it’s much easier and preferred to change something and avoid possible drama than invite it by standing your ground over every little thing. To paraphrase a writing channel I’m a fan of called LocalScriptMan: The point of words is to use them in service of the things that actually matter so if the words you use make things confusing that just means you should use different words.” In this case Isis creates unwanted associations so it’s better to just change the name and move on to more important things than fuss over something that even from the creators side likely isn’t that important. Plus honestly the new name worked out really cleanly as Ibis are a type of bird that was worshipped in Egypt as the earthly form of the god Thoth, so it still fits the themeing really well.

Excellent video, thanks for sharing! I was wondering if they would change the name of Isis to something else...and it looks like they did. A little disappointing, but perfectly understandable.

Honestly them expanding on the story is probably what has me most excited, not just for DQ3 but DQ 1+2 next year. I’d really love to see 1+2 get similar expanded storylines and possibly even party chat for Cannock and Moonbrooke to help flesh them out.
