ARE Dragon Quest Silent Protags DONE FOR?

Just recently the Dragon Quest creator, Yuji Horii has made some interesting comments on silent protagonist. So for today we're here to discuss some of these points he made and why I personally think you can do more with a silent protagonist.

Let me clarify of what ThatsRoyo saying here: if DQXII has a voiced/silent protagonist, he/she can talk in cutscenes but briefly with little things to say or have a long sentence dialogue when choosing a dialogue option to respond to an npc cuz Horii stated back in 2021 that DQXII is going to feature dynamic dialogue options in the game.

To be fair, the protagonists in all DQ games are a silent avatar for the player to view the world through.
Yes, it makes the hero feel hollow but perhaps thats part of the self-insert immersion the director is going for?
I would like if the next DQ protag gives more expression than just being a stone-face but thats why party members are there: colorful, diverse and full of personality to make the story dymanic more engaging

Still can't belive DQ8 hasn't been ported to modern consoles yet along with DQ4-7+9
