Dragon Quest III is my favorite rpg. I had it on NES and Gameboy Color. I was one of the first people to download the English fan translation back in the day. Yes, thank you, my exact thoughts. People act as if it's the best thing since sliced bread. Anything else would be more appealing. A full 3D remake would be more appealing (they're almost there with the environment, so why not go all the way and make the characters 3D). Or a remake with Vanillaware-style, hand drawn artwork, instead of pixels, to truly honor Akira Toriyama's design.
@@mandatorialFirst of all: No we do not act like that Second of all: It’s very appealing I think and looks beautiful and fresh And i think a 3d remake wouldn’t look cool it’s, just everything’s 3d in most remakes(in some it’s very good that it’s 3d) And last of all: It makes more money because it brings back more nostalgia from people and then they buy it(you can’t say that more money for game developers is bad they make the games we can enjoy)
I’m still excited, but I don’t love the 2D-3D art style. I would have much preferred something more akin to DQ8 or DQ11. I guess the logic is that it’s quicker to develop?

it's a fucking turn-based 2D game. There is no way you need that to be 60FPS to enjoy it.
@@TheJokerAkaCirquewell said
I just don't understand how people like this exist. Why tf would you EVER care about that!! It's not freaking Monster Hunter on ps5. Get over yourself. Enjoy the game.
@@chesterfieldthe3rd929Smoother framerate always makes the game feel better, even if it's not an action game. Sure, 30 fps is tolerable, but why settle for less?
To me, 60 fps only " feels better" if I have already seen the game run at 60. Otherwise oblivious, 30 fps is fine.
I was really happy until I heard that shit from Sweet Baby Inc came to fuck up
sackchief - disagree , from DQ 1 to now , you cant Really play DQ games any way you want , you be Punished by the game VIA instant DEATH. every DQ game since DQ1 is all LINEAR progression.
not unlike Zelda BOW , where you can Literally go to FINA BOSS 13 minutes in.
and can fight him "naked" w/ basic runes.
you CANT even cross over to FINAL tower in DQ1 until you found all the items to make the Rainbow staff.
I genuinely don't get the hype for the HD-2D style. It looks extremely unappealing to me
Yes, thank you, my exact thoughts.
@@mandatorialFirst of all:
No we do not act like that
Second of all:
It’s very appealing I think and looks beautiful and fresh
And i think a 3d remake wouldn’t look cool it’s, just everything’s 3d in most remakes(in some it’s very good that it’s 3d)
And last of all:
It makes more money because it brings back more nostalgia from people and then they buy it(you can’t say that more money for game developers is bad they make the games we can enjoy)
GOTY!
Get out of here, shill.
O yeah we love body type A or B.
I’m still excited, but I don’t love the 2D-3D art style. I would have much preferred something more akin to DQ8 or DQ11. I guess the logic is that it’s quicker to develop?
Boycott engaged...akira's work is untouchable
There won't be a boycott. Can't boycott something if you never cared about DQ in the first place, and none of us fans see this as an issue big enough to warrant a boycott, take your circus where it actually matters like Ubisoft.

japan is going full DEI. would be funny to see another square game that flops but it'll probably make a profit unless this game costed a lot of money
We need to get them to open their eyes somehow.
A lot less excited after the stupid gender stuff. Worried what else they've changed...

@@SpoonyBard88incel has become a complement since only pd0files use it to insult normal folk.
They changed the name of the town of Isis to IBIS, taken the trolls’ lips away and even made the female warrior and gadabout wear pants! Ruining Toriyama’s art. Shit on them.
You are a deeply weird person
I’m excited for the game but I’m really annoyed at the whole Type A Type B shit. It was an unnecessary change and I’ll be buying it second hand.

Good. We don't need any more cringe in the DQ fan base. Stay away, and let us enjoy this masterpiece.

Cool, who asked though
I played Dragon quest eight as my first JPG without a strategy got and then I played all the other ones remaking a game in 2-D is disgraceful. Nothing more needs to be said.
Rose colored glasses guys…yes it had some cool stuff…but come on look at the graphics and lame text. Played the crap out of it back in the day but hell no I could never play it again.
I will not support this game due to DEI and censorship.
@@Senshi00 ...Neither of those are in this. I don't think you know what DEI even means.
I'd bet all the money in the world this person has never played a Dragon Quest game in their life lol
@@gligarguy4010 As customers, we have every right to point out flaws in a product. When publishers and developers shove DEI agenda in our faces and censor games, we’re going to speak up. It doesn't matter if the game looks "good" on the surface. These changes and political agendas in our video games add up over time, and if we don't speak out, we'll be overwhelmed by them. We think for ourselves and won't be pushed around. If you think minor changes don’t matter, you’re missing how they affect the authenticity and integrity of the game. you are erdrick and youre supposed to do good stuff and there are options for that, I'm glad its not like Bg3 where having multiple options with multiple endings... that's not the dragon quest I like... and this is also not the best selling point of 3 either... Dragon Quest has great drama and great dialogue, thats why I and dragon quest fans like Dragon quest, Americans are not needed here, we are not horrible people like them
I feel like the best selling point of DQ3 is that it’s a shorter RPG (compared to most modern RPG’s anyways) where you can have a lot of fun customizing your party and getting to experience Dragon Quest’s classic vignette story telling style.
And I completely agree, Dragon Quest has a very endearing and genuine writing style which makes it a very approachable series.
I don’t get why you’re calling all American’s horrible people though 😕
@@mr.j3rs3y I'm not a big fan of shorter RPG though, its not why I liked the 3rd entry
While the MAIN game DQ3 is only like 30 hours long having 3 Non Hero's learn EVERY SINGLE skill/spell in this remake will still easily DOUBLE that to 60+ hours or more.
