My friend gave me a gameboy and Dragon Warrior 3, which I had never played before and spent an entire year playing it until I beat it. It is one of the best games I have played in recent years despite it being so old. The animated sprites, the little stories of the towns, and the hidden treats of the battle system blew me away. For example, I thought Expel sucked until I realized it works almost every time on undead creatures even the high-level ones! I haven't been able to beat Shenron to 100% but it left a lasting impact on me and has influenced my art and games. I can't wait to do it again with the HD remake!
Thanks for the awesome video and feeding my obsession for all things DQ3! haha

My DQ3 Experience: In my opinion this is one of the best games in the series. It single-handedly not only made the series skyrocket into becoming an iconic video game series, but also one of the most influential games to ever be made. My only real complaint with the game is that I think the beginning of the game is the weakest part of the game, everything else is honestly top tier and leads to one of the best games in the series. But I would like to mention something that I almost never hear discussed, the stats in this game are weird. Strength and Luck are normal, but Agility is not only your speed but also half of your current speed is your base defense stat. Resilience and Wisdom are half of what your current HP and MP stats are. I always find this intriguing whenever I think about it because no other game in the series does this with the stats besides DQ4 in which you need a certain amount of wisdom to learn new spells rather than just needing the required level

Having replayed all of these as an adult, what strikes me is that the first 3 games were not overly silly. 4 is alright, too, but from 5 on the titles just get more and more cartoonish.

@@chrlpolk Uh how exactly do the games onward get cartoony? This statement is vague and needs more detail

@henryconner3002 I honestly didn’t think it required more explanation. Childishness in the storylines and in-game dialogue, jokes and references. Dialect, emoting. Visual representation. I do concede, in all fairness, it is a game series for children. And that remakes have added these things to the earlier games. But from 5 on (and a touch more in 4 than in the previous Erdrick trilogy), the games became progressively more childish in its presentation. You may feel it adds to the game, if that’s your flavor, but for me, I liked the older, starker games better than the newer ones, which have caused many eye rolls during gameplay.

Early game done fast for pros, but yes it's a long game good point. Dealer in first team I like , and a fighter for the golden claw. Grind out for sages a bit later when can speed level. Armor warrior gets a great weapon right before baramos too! Demon axe i believe and not cursed! I'm sure pros with early mages can wreck too.

It is without a doubt the best game in the series. It is high fantasy gaming without being overly childish.

DQ - swords for the Nintendo Wii was probably my favorite game on the system. Shorter but super cool like #3, def play swords if haven't
