You make such beautiful garments! Absolutely LOVE the white button down dress! Thank you for sharing them.
Thank you for watching, Brenda. I appreciate your encouraging feedback .
The second top with all of the colors is fabulous! That top is amazing! Please step outside of your comfort zone because that top looks good!👍
Hi Tonya! Thanks for watching, and yes, stepping out the zone slowly.
I’m so happy I found your channel! Your makes and plans are all beautiful and fashionable! One of my favorite things from sewing is the planning and I’m here for all your plans❤
I am appreciative of your kind feedback, and I am happy you found the channel. Thanks for joining, and I hope you enjoy the journey. Welcome!
Lovely pieces!❤
Thanks for watching and sharing your feedback.
I like it when the person tells us about it thank you
You are welcome.
🥰 you did a beautiful job
I appreciate your kind feedback. Thank you🙂
All of your garments always look perfect! Both are beautiful
Thank you! I appreciate your time🙂
Thank you Karon, love the tops. I want to make S1538 this week, your reviews are my mental muslin 😂😂. Those pants are going to be beautiful, I made 2 last year. Will probably make a few more this year.
You’re welcome, please give it a try. Thanks for watching. I am truly hoping I am successful with the pants as they appear to be comfy.
The shirts/blouse are beautiful. You have been very busy. What a way to begin 2025 -- great.
I agree, it's been a productive start to the year. Thank you for watching
Hi Karon, I love your two tops you made. They are so beautiful. I was wondering if you made the shirt you are wearing in the video and if you did what pattern you used?
Hello, yes, I made the dress worn in the video. I used McCalls 8285 using a light linen fabric. Thank you for watching.
OMG that blouse fabric is breathtaking!!! You never fail to inspire
You're too kind, I'm glad you like it! I hope I can continue to inspire!
As always, lovely shirts. I love the berry blouse/jacket combination. Perfect Simplicity shirt! Both are beautiful Karon.
I appreciate it, Grace. Thank you so much for watching 🙂
Your beautiful gingham blouse is perfect. Your skills are great.
Thank you so much. I appreciate it!!
Love the color and style of the gingham shirt! Interfacing makes it look more professional but I have erred on the side of "stiff" and I'm always curious to find out which interfacing others use. Your's seem to fit the requirement. Which do you use and recommend?
I appreciate it. Thank you. I often interchange Pellon medium to light weight depending on the fabric. For this cotton fabric, I used light weight fusible from Pellon.
Your style and choice of fabrics are spot on! I am so impressed!
I appreciate your kind words! Thank you.
Beautiful work as usual Karon. I laughed out loud when you said your comfort zone was getting boring. You are too creative to box yourself in. Love the print shirt. Enjoy the journey out of the zone.
I appreciate your kind words, it's good to push boundaries sometimes. Thanks for watching!
Your Butterick 6378 is gorgeous. I love this pattern. I have made at least 3😊
It’s a great pattern, and I love the way it makes the fabric look! It is worth being made more than once for sure. Thank you so much.
Beautiful . I just subscribed because you are so good .
Thanks and welcome. I appreciate your time.
She's beyond good. She's amazing!!! You will love her impeccable makes.
Your work is exquisite!!= You have a talent to match fabric to pattern and then add your own details!! Well done!!
I appreciate you watching and sharing your kind words. Thank you!!
My goodness, Karon!! You are a beautiful sewist!! Your approach to sewing has made you very proficient and professional looking! One question--when you do french seams on the inside, how do you handle the sleeve caps? Do you french seam them flat and then sew up the sides, or do you do a set-in sleeve and french seam that. I hope you can understand the question. 🤔
I do a rest in seam. I have a sew along and also a video on French seam sleeves. I appreciate your encouraging words. Happy sewing 😀
Beautiful blouse Karen as usual.
Thank you, Helen.
Thank you sew much for continuing to share your makes. I look forward to it. Splendid work!!!
Thank you so much for watching and supporting. This channel is here because you guys watch. Happy sewing 😀
Hi Karon! Your shirt goes without saying, but the blouse is absolutely beautiful! ❤️❤️❤️
Deidra, I appreciate you watching and sharing your thoughts. I definitely need more blouses. Thank you!!
I have that blouse pattern and you make me want to sew it ❤❤❤❤ the shirt pattern is already my favorite
Please give it a try. I need to make more blouses. Thanks for watching 😀
@ I sure will
Beautiful makes Karon. I absolutely loveeeeeee the butterick blouse!!!!! The fabric is amazing 🤩
Kris, I didn't know what was best for this fabric, but this pattern helped me to see its purpose😀 Thanks for watching.
Both the shirt and blouse are beautiful Karon! But oh that blouse is gorgeous! I can see it worn with so many things. A perfect and classy blouse to wear to work and beyond. I think you made a good choice with the gingham changing it to a shirt rather than a dress. You will get so much more wear from it.
I agree, the shirt was the better option. This blouse is simple and quick to make, but selecting the perfect fabric makes it shine. I got lucky. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts 🙂
I just bought the simplicity pattern because of your last video!
That is awesome. Please give it a try. Happy sewing 😀
Nice makes. I love the simplicity 1538 and would love to make it but it’s not in pdf format and I haven’t started purchasing paper patterns online yet.
Claudeen, hopefully, it will be available soon. Thanks for watching. I appreciate your time.
Good Morning, Girl you are an expert on any kind of shirt, top or blouse. I love it. I look forward to your complete tutorials that includes all your tips, tricks, design elements and everything. Love your accuracy and attention to detail. Keep it up.
Hi Vera. I am humbled by your feedback. Thank you so much for watching and providing encouragement. I am hoping to do more tutorials this year.
Well Done! Continue Doing You! Continue Your Perfectionism. You Make Beautiful Clothes. Thank You For Sharing Karen ❤
Thank you for watching and providing encouragement. I appreciate your time Pam!
Oh, I also bought McCalls 6124 with princess seams. Do you have any opinion about princess seams on this style of shirt! I insist on either darts or princess seams for a fitted or semi-fitted look.
My preference is darts, and I am able to adjust the fit due to repeated use. You may want to try both to see which works best for you.
Hello! You love making shirts? How inspiring! I’ve sewn for decades and am frightened to attempt my first shirt . It’s scary getting the stand collar done just right so it looks professional. Two days ago I bought this pattern. I’ve been reading PatternReview about this shirt. One woman stated that she felt that there’s too much ease in the sleeve cap. Do you agree? Also, she suggested to make the sleeve one piece and make a placket opening for the cuff. Opinion? Thank you for your review and the nice shirts you displayed. Watching from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦!
Hello, thank you for watching. I experiment with different patterns to determine which I like best. This shirt was a good make because it's fisheye darts gave my shirt a good fit. The sleeves were fine for me, but I have bigger biceps. I have a sew along of a shirt on my channel. Please take a look to see if the information is helpful. Please let me know how you find it after watching.
@@cookeka Thank you for the reply! I meant the sleeve cap not the bicep. I will certainly look up the video you mentioned. I bought this pattern specifically because it has darts; I love bust darts, and I can either add or not add the other vertical darts. BTW, do you do flat sleeve insertion, like they do in garment manufacturing?
Great plans Karon!
Thank you Debra!
Impeccable! Every piece is a work of art. What I would give to be the person who receives the ones you give away!!!❤❤
Deborah, you are very kind! Thank you so much for watching and sharing encouraging words. The recipients are very grateful 🙂
Karen, we DO NOT/ DID NOT ever think that you are wasting our time. We LOVE that you include us in your process. We LOVE ALL of it! Don't change a thing. We love watching you and so very much appreciate your content. ALL OF IT. Many Blessings, From Aires.
@@wadenyoost1796 Aires, I so appreciate your encouragement and continued support. It's reassuring to know my sewing process and rants make sense to others. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts 🙂
Your sewing is exquisite . So very professional . ❤️👍❤️
Mary, I am humbled by your feedback! Thank you for watching and sharing your feedback.
Thank you for sharing your makes. Your love for sewing comes out in your craft. Well done, Sister
I appreciate you watching and sharing your kind feedback. Thank you, and happy 2025.
My gosh the inside finishing is gorgeous. This is what I aspire to! The trousers are all amazing! I love how the full pant legs and full shorts legs provide balance to your silhouette, you look so elegant! Feeling inspired!
Hello Anna. I am happy you have been inspired and appreciate your feedback. I am truly thankful I am able to inspire others just as you guys have provided inspiration.
Karon I love watching your videos. I love how precised you are. Your garments looks so professional. I noticed looking at how you made your blazer that you used a diffenent kind of interfacing some of your short videos. Can you tell me what kind of interfacing you used and the number. I would appreciate it. Thank you
Darlene, I appreciate your time and support. Thank you. I use horsehair canvas for the lapel, back, and side pieces to provide structure .
You’ve been very productive and do beautiful work. I do wish you were more positive about your creations. I just can’t get why you don’t wear more of your custom wardrobe.
Thank you so much, Barbara. Bad habit of being critical of myself, but it's something I do in many aspects of my life. I have come a far way with opportunities to improve. I appreciate your feedback 😊
Your inside finishing is just beautiful. My mother always told me, "you should be able to wear you cloths inside out" You meet that standard. About your blue wool pants - It happens to us all. Just sit down with a coffee, tea, beverage of your choice and become one with your seam ripper. He probably misses you !!
I am glad you noticed those details! It is really fun to add my interpretation to a garment, and it's important to me to pay attention to those details. You are right, I need the time to relax and the seam ripper will become my friend. We all use it often but hate it😀
Karen you're so hard on yourself...your work is beautiful!!!😊
You are very kind. I appreciate it. Thank you!!
Fantastic lineup! Wow. Please don't apologize for your pickiness. I'll bet perfectionism is part of your being, not just in sewing but in everything. Nitpicking over details that other people wouldn't even notice is part of how you analyze, learn, persevere and keep improving every year. Your shirts and shirt dresses are a tour de force. Tailored garments in general. If it's any comfort: even garments bought at the store aren't 100% satisfactory. Sometimes a good idea, well planned and carefully executed, refuses to work in real life. The fabric misbehaves; the color disappoints; the design doesn't translate from technical measurements to reality; our posture changes, or our taste does. So what? Every attempt at excellence takes us closer to handling the most challenging projects. And unlike most of us, you've already mastered the skills to make yourself a full, beautifully made, professional wardrobe. It's inspiring to the rest of us. Happy 2025!
Hello, thank you for your insightful review. Your feedback included a synopsis of my struggles with fabric, indecisiveness regarding matching patterns to fabric, and my doubts about my capabilities. I am so appreciative of the encouragement, feedback, and shared experience I receive from this community. As I continue to learn, I am sure my skills will continue to improve, and my fears will decrease. Thanks for watching, and happy New Year as well.
You just came up as a recommended watch for me yesterday. I watched this video and was totally hooked. I just watched another one of your fabric haul. I plan to go back to the beginning and watch all of your videos, so the questions I have may be answered as I get through them. But can you just tell me quickly what you do to get the fit you get on these garments? Do you automatically know what adjustments to make before you start? Or do you not need to make any adjustments? I see you use mostly Big Four patterns. Do they fit right out of the envelope? The fit you achieve is spectacular. And I love that your clothes are pressed so nicely. Also, is there a video I can skip to where you tell about yourself a little bit? Looking forward to your makes in 2025.
Hello, thank you for stopping by. I appreciate your time and feedback. I speak a little about myself in video posted two years ago it's a 1:46 minutes video. I have used a few independent patterns but mainly stick to big 4 because I have had practice over time and know what needs adjustments. All patterns need some adjustment for my changing body, but with practice, I am able to understand my body. Please know that I have fears about trying new patterns as I believe I will need to make adjustments. I have slowly been facing my fears as opportunities to improve my skills. Essentially, over time, I will definitely embrace independent patterns more in order to face my fears.
Lucky you you’re living around all that echinacea.
Thank you for educating me on the name of the plant and flower. They are located at the park.
Karon, have you ever thought of getting your colors done? Maybe that is why you don't like something you have sewed. 😊
@sandrawhite3596 Hi Sandra, no, I have not. I know what colors I like and what works for me, but sometimes the design looks lovely visualized on the pattern; however, in really, it's not what I expected. Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts. I appreciate you.
So many countless impeccable garments and your shirts are absolutely flawless. You should be proud! Happy New Year Karon!
I appreciate you, Grace. Thanks for your support and a Happy New Year to you as well!!
