    That machine looks like it would be great to take when traveling whether on your own of if you go to sewing retreats. Especially if you are flying and don't want to take your bulkier machine. Also love the fabrics. Blackbird Fabrics is an awesome store!

    The orange chrysanthemum fabric would be perfect for early fall, as sometimes you want to reflect autumn colors but it is too warm to wear actual fall fabrics! I think you’ll just love a dress in this come September! ❤

      Sun Shine, I thought about this as perfect for fall because of the colors but had second thoughts because it gets cold here. I will keep that in mind when I choose the pattern. I am struggling with a final pattern 😁

    Hello Karon, lovely fabric selections.😍 The orange and black fabric is my favourite!❤ McCall's shirt pattern M7838 has cool sleeve variations... view C is similar to the pink and white striped shirt. That Caydo sewing machine is so cute😍

    Beautiful fabric choices as always Karen! I have made the McCalls 8090 and found it to be very oversized, so I’d suggest a fit check or a toile before cutting into Blackbird Fabric. 😁

    From the looks of it I could costume a high school play with that sewing machine which would be handy, having a lighter machine to lug back and forth to rehearsals.

      @cookeka  4 месяца назад

      Yes, the convenience of having a tool that suits your needs is great. We don't all want or have the same resources available, so to have a smaller machine that works as well can be a good thing.

    All those fabrics are so nice and they are definitely "you!" Would the gauzy burnt orange fabric work when it's the beginning of fall and often still quite warm, with a black jacket or cardigan at night or if it's a little cool? The Caydo is cute and definitely something that can come in handy for so many applications - and while I think you are certainly pronouncing it as it would appear to be meant, I wouldn't worry about that - I hear so many things pronounced so differently that I'm not sure there is a "correct" pronunciation for some words!

    • @cookeka
      @cookeka  4 месяца назад

      Yes, the gauzy fabric can work with a light jacket in the fall, but I want to make a garment that is an option both seasons. Thanks for the feedback because I am now rethinking the pattern choice for that fabric.
      Yes, the Caydo is definitely an option for some projects.

    So you’re going to use two different stripes for the shirt as opposed to solid and stripe?

    • @cookeka
      @cookeka  4 месяца назад

      That is correct. The inspiration has two different stripes, and that's what is unique about the design.
