Hi Karon. I love watching your videos and your enthusiasm about sewing. Your humor is everything, can’t wait to see what you decide to sew and share. Happy sewing.
Hello Anita. I am happy my enthusiasm is not driving folks crazy. I do get excited about ideas and sewing, so I appreciate the feedback 😀 Thank you so much for watching. Happy sewing to you as well.
I don't know who is more excited about your sewing plans - you or me! I can't wait until you have it all completed. As you are sharing with us, just think of a kid jumping up & down with excitement. That's me! Hurry up, girl!
I love it when you are so inspired and enthusiastic about your plans. I get inspired too. Everything you mentioned is wonderful. I don't see why a stripped shirt without a bow would only be casual. Men wear them with suits and ties. I think the vest in the fabric you showed would be very cool. Have a wonderful time putting all the pieces together.
Hi Kathy. It was fun to review the possibilities and plan what would work for me. I truly love the enthusiasm I have for fabric and the sewing process. I appreciate you watching and happy you feel the same as well. Yes, the stripe shirt will do double duty. Happy sewing 😀
Great plans, Karen! I love the blue themed wardrobe series. Absolutely stunning inspiration photos, too! I need to get that magazine. An animal print dress would definitely complete the collection. Thanks for sharing.
Hello Debra! Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts. I am happy you have been inspired. Please know I am encouraged by your feedback. Happy sewing.
Very exciting projects and it is so inspiring and nice to see you with creative ideas on pure dopamine rush…everything you do is lovely and neat. Looking forward to your results ❤
Love your video Karen! Your blue themed Talbots wardrobe is right up my alley. I love how certain you are in your style! I tend to bounce all over the place. 😂 Happy sewing! 💙
I love when you are bubbling over with excitement about your sewing plans! 😊 we should all enjoy what we do and what we make that same way. If you ever decide to sell merchandise, the first item should be a tshirt that says "...and then she popped her collar, and it was a wrap!" Yes ma'am that says it all! 💙🩵💙🩵
Hello, I am really happy when I am filled with enthusiasm to create garments. We sewists know the value of the moment because we often go through a period of no creativity. Hilarious, that popped collar is my weakness 😀😀
Your enthusiasm is contagious! I love watching your design process. I do think you NEED orange pants and maybe an orange & white blouse to go with the blue collection.
It was so much fun to see how excited you got showing your inspirations and plans! All the clothes you have in mind "look like you," as they say 😀. I can't imagine you ruining a piece of fabric because you sew so beautifully, but I totally understand your fear of messing up! Only one way to find out...😉...
Yes, Mary, only one way to find out. I get very excited when I am filled with inspiration. It's an exciting experience which, if not activated quickly, I get discouraged because plans don't materialize. I am happy you enjoyed the little fun I had😀
Hello Karon, I love your inspiration from the Talbots catalog. I received that catalog and haven’t bought anything from them in ages. I did see such gorgeous clothes and also such high prices! I love your navy collection you will be sewing! Blue has always been my favorite color so navy is a big favorite too. I might attempt a new blouse myself as you’ve inspired me but the navy denim look shirt dress is fab too. I love shirtwaist dresses but I’m short so I have to be careful wearing them. Have a great Labor Day and hope you can sew as you have sure have such gorgeous fabrics and patterns ready and wonderful ideas!!! Your sewing is impeccable,,, don’t ever doubt yourself! Nancy from Fort Wayne, IN.
Hello Nancy... yes, the items in the catalog are a bit expensive, so I only get unique pieces once a while. It's hard to buy clothes when you sew. I agree, navy is a gorgeous neutral, and I love the versatility. Thanks for watching as always. Happy Labor Day to you as well.
Have to say the "Blanca Flight Suit" fitting is phenomenal, imo, no real fit adjustments for me. Made one in dark denim, thinking of maybe modifying to make pants? But love it!
Great plans! I would do the shirtdress and not the jumpsuit. I recently made a shirtdress in a very similar chambray and I am getting tons of wear out of it.
We 're Lucky as sewists to live in countries with 4 seasons.lmagine the poor sewists living in countries with only 2 seasons.Your blue plan is very exciting .
Im one of the poor sewists 😂 0:01 that live in the tropics. Everyday is over 40 degrees now. Have not worn a cardigan here in Thailand for over 10 years. Miss making jackets. 😊
I'm in San Francisco, CA and we really don't have seasons here, maybe two weeks of summer in September/October.then back to cool and gray again. You are right that you find ways to appreciate it no matter where we live. I'm happy not to live where it snows! 😊
I would take a strip of fabric with similar stripes and hold it in place to see how it looks. Depending on how much of the striped you use for the bodice what about leaving one stripe at the bottom of the skirt? Either way it’s a gorgeous pattern.
Bingo at 6 min. Pussy bow blouses can be too limiting. If you want a bow sometimes, you could make a separate "pussybow tie" that fits over a band collar or regular shirt collar. It could double as a self belt also. I'm happy for you that you're feeling that rush of excitement. It doesn't matter where inspiration comes from. In this case, blue, which flatters your coloring and will never go out of style. Win-win! And the opportunities for play, like blue/white bias tape finishes? endless. Hooray. Orange is directly opposite blue on the color wheel, which is why it makes such a vivid combo. If you want something less contrast-y, then near-oranges like golds and mustards work nicely, as do many off-whites and putty colors. The most common accent color (red) is actually the least interesting to me, personally, maybe because it resembles an Olympics team uniform or July 4th costume. I love the idea of the blue chambray as a shirt dress. The Bianca jump suit would look terrific, but wearing a boiler suit always reminds me of the, hmm, practical drawbacks. The blue-and-white border print is gorgeous. I see the issue: it's always tricky, how to use the straight portion of the print, isn't it? It doesn't work on curved hems (A-line and circle skirts.) The only way to use a border print as a hem is with a gathered skirt, which wouldn't look right here. Using the stripes on the bodice sounds much better, or, you could use the stripes on a coordinating (blue? white?) bolero and use the stripes along the front opening. And/or, a dress belt. Can't wait to see what comes next.
Thank you for your indepth review and feedback. I appreciate your time and definitely can see how the navy blue color plays well with the colors you referenced. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping my thoughts and plans are realized. I truly appreciate the rush of creativity and often wish it lasted longer.
Your excitement regarding these sewing plans are refreshing, beautiful fabrics, looking forward to seeing your makes!
Charisse, thank you. I am excited to see their outcome as welcome.
Karon, you are so inspiring! Love all the fabrics and patterns!❤️

Exciting, but I hope the finished garment is as I envisioned.

That's a start😀😀

Thank you, Jenn. The options from that store provided a great base to inspire my sewing plans.
I am happy to liked the theme.
Thanks for watching 🙂

Navy blue, favorite color (all shades blue really) 🤩😍 Love your sewing ideas and projects
It's a great neutral. Thank you, Monique. I appreciate you watching and sharing your thoughts.
Your enthusiasm is contagious! I love watching your design process. I do think you NEED orange pants and maybe an orange & white blouse to go with the blue collection.
Oh goodness, Diane! Hopefully, it's a good thing.
That idea of the orange pants is very tempting.
Thanks for watching and sharing your feedback 😀
Navy is a neutral. And I think pairing orange with it will look fabulous on you.
Thank you.
I love Talbot, too. Its my dream book:-) Any of the jackets will work plus that dress will be fabulous. Enjoy your sewing
Mitzila, yes, it a great book😀
Thanks for watching and sharing in my sewing fun.

I covet the fabric in the opening. One of my favorite colors and fabrics.
Yes, I definitely understand. That linen is a perfect Fall color, but it's linen, so it works antime.
Have to say the "Blanca Flight Suit" fitting is phenomenal, imo, no real fit adjustments for me. Made one in dark denim, thinking of maybe modifying to make pants? But love it!
Hi Monique, It sounds like you enjoyed making that garment. Thank you for sharing your experience. I appreciate it and fo hope to make that jumpsuit.
Great plans! I would do the shirtdress and not the jumpsuit. I recently made a shirtdress in a very similar chambray and I am getting tons of wear out of it.
Beth, great suggestion. I will see how it turns out as one can't have too many shirtdresses.
Thanks for watching.
@@cookeka haha, yes. I also wonder if chambray is perhaps not sturdy enough for a jumpsuit, you know?
@@downtoearthsewing Depending on the look one is trying to achieve. I have chambray jumpsuits.😀
I would make the dress simply because I don’t like jumpsuits otoh you like jumpsuits and it is really cute.
Let's see where my imagination takes me during the process!
We 're Lucky as sewists to live in countries with 4 seasons.lmagine the poor sewists living in countries with only 2 seasons.Your blue plan is very exciting .
I can relate, but you would find ways to create your own happiness. I want to live in the tropics eventually, so I am also thinking about that.

Love the polka dot. Stripes are not good on an a-line skirt or a swing skirt
Yes, the polkadot will be the skirt, and stripes will be the bodice . I'm happy you like it. Thank you
