I'm laughing that you say you didn't sew that much!!!! Wow - you sewed a ton of absolutely beautiful clothes!!! Everything you make is exquisite - beautiful fabrics, beautiful sewing, beautiful results on you! Navy is neutral and used to be more popular than black in my mother's day - she always wore it all year round for shoes and handbags - with a red or camel coat in the winter, blue plaid in the fall, white in the summer, yellow and gray in the spring - it really works with almost any color. I made Vogue 1902 several years ago and now I'm thinking I should make it again. I have a piece of silk purchased decades ago that I have been afraid to sew - join the crowd on that!
Hi Mary... not as much as I wanted😀 You are very kind. I appreciate your time and feedback. I definitely love navy and believe it's such a great staple. Those colors seem perfect for various seasons. Vogue 1902 is a gorgeous top, and yes, a silk fabric would be ideal. Silk intimates my sewing abilities, but I will overcome eventually .😀
It would be nice for you to do a video showing all the wips finished the fabrics are gorgeous and the garments would be stunning when done. Love your vids
You have done an awesome job. I totally agree with the sewist, do not toss those pieces you have cut out, just set them aside for now. The fabrics you have selected for the garments are beautiful.
Hi Vanessa. I appreciate you. Others have also shared that recommendation of choosing the right needle. I definitely will use the information to get the top completed. Thank you.
Hello Karon, everything you’ve made is as gorgeous as the last garments you’ve made in your previous months. You choose such beautiful looking fabrics. You know quality for sure. I like to sew that way too even tho our fabric prices have really risen along with our notions and patterns. You sew sooo very very nice and perfectly too. Please finish the black/ orange lily print dress for your vacation. It would be stunning esp in that the longer length halter style. I love your style of clothing and you wear / model everything well too. I need to get busy and sew a few things for myself also as I’ve not for quite a while, usually is been an alteration lately and bow ties for my grandson. His school requires a tie or bow tie which is wonderful and khaki pants, no tennies’s, and only certain color shirts. A uniform of sorts. But it’s been a good thing f or him and smaller classrooms for my grandson, which is how he seems to learn best. Have a great rest of the wknd and happy sewing too, Nancy from northern IN
Hi Nany. Hoping you are doing well and feeling great. Yes, you will be sewing beautiful pieces once you are ready and I am sure they will be lovely. Your grandson is lucky to have you to make custom ties for his uniform. Have a great evening and thank you for your continuous support and feedback!! I appreciate you.
Karon, Love your dresses, You are a creative and a very good sewist. I have been sewing for over fifty years and I don't sew as good as you do. I love looking at your makes, they inspires me to continue sewing even though am not as good as you are. keep sewing and sharing.👍👍
Morlina, thanks for sharing your encouraging feedback. I am truly appreciative of your kind words. I am happy I provide inspiration as I believe feedback like yours provide the motivation for me to keep going. I appreciate you. Happy sewing.
I absolutely love your simplicity 8041 dresses, they have convinced me to include at least one in my sewing must do list. thank you for the inspiration.
Hello Frances, thank you! Yes, simplicity 8014 is a lovely pattern that is now a staple in my wardrobe. I am happy you have been inspired to create your own. Thanks for watching!!!
I enjoyed seeing your accessories and hearing your thoughts about how you put together your looks. It was kind of like what Karina from Lifting pins and needles does. Few sewists spend a lot of time on the styling, and sometimes that is what helps others visualize how the pattern could work for them. Thanks for that! Also, that white 8014 is everything! I saw it and immediately thought "I want that!" 😊❤
Thank you for your feedback. Yes, it helps to visualize the entire look sometimes, but I often am inspired by the fabric to determine the final outfit. I love the white dress as well.
I read that if you iron the pleats with a 1:1 ratio of white vinegar and water in your steam iron and let them cool completely before moving them they become permanently set in place. Just a thought. Maybe try on a scrap of the sateen and wash that first?
love these makes. The shirtdress on your dress form is to die for. I'm like you with cutting and sewing up my items quickly otherwise I kinda run out of steam!!!
Ma’am! You ARE a fashionista: designer of haute couture. (Haute means - fashionably elegant) They should put your picture by this word❤ Gentle reminder: the controls to watch are at MY fingertips.. No explanations needed for why or how you do what you do… ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I appreciate the feedback, which is one of the numerous motivating factors to keep going. Hilarious 😀 at Fashionista.... only you, Maxine🙂 Yes, that feedback re my work and why or how I do it is loudly received!!👍🏻
Congratulations. Your white jacket, your white, red, giraffe design ,every garment is great.Your trying to match shoes, soon you'll become a professional designer.Thancks very much Karon for those congenial moments you share with us.
Oh my goodness. That is definitely a long time to have that treasure. Please sew up a beautiful garment that validate and capture its true beauty. Thanks for watching.
I love your white dress and all your shirt dresses. I have that pattern but too nervous to start it. What fabric was the white shirt dress? Is it a heavy cotton? Also the Makers Atelier sewing patterns has a shirt with all the pleats of your pink dress, and they advised doing a quick basting stitch across all the pleats before putting the dress in the wash. May be worth a try?
Concerning the silk you are afraid to work on, it looks like it is very thin weight. My suggestion would be to use a size 6 sharp needle. Also if you have a plate for a single needle, I would use that to assure the fabric doesn't get caught down in your needle plate. The needle is most important.

Yes, it's one of my favorite. Thank you!

Great suggestion, Sara. If or when I get them completed.
I appreciate you watching. Thank you!
@@cookeka when 😂
You have done an awesome job. I totally agree with the sewist, do not toss those pieces you have cut out, just set them aside for now. The fabrics you have selected for the garments are beautiful.
Words of wisdom. I definitely will revisit once I am rested and mentally ready to create.
Thank you!
Karon, for the silk fabric, just make sure you use the right size needle. If the fabric is slippery, use a walking foot.
Hi Vanessa. I appreciate you. Others have also shared that recommendation of choosing the right needle.

The second shoes n bag combo would go well with the top you are wearing
Thank you so much🙂

I will give it a try as that would allow me to create so many options with this method.
Thank you!

Thank you, Kris. Yes, my mood changes pretty quickly so I get on those projects as they are cut.
That fabric is beautiful.

Understand fear of destroying fabric. Have a beautiful Irish wool given to me 50 years ago and it's still in my stash.
Oh my goodness. That is definitely a long time to have that treasure. Please sew up a beautiful garment that validate and capture its true beauty.

Love from Thailand 😊❤
Hi Jennifer 🙂
Missed you Karon. Absolutely love the dress (beige and white) that you are wearing in this video. What is the pattern, please?
Hi Kathleen. You are very kind, thank you. That dress and pattern is S8546 described in the video at 17:40 .
Happy sewing.

Thank you. The fabric is a light cotton sateen and has some twill texture but a light fabric.
Give it a try.

I appreciate the recommendation and will definitely change to the correct needle. I would hate to have a bad experience sewing this project.
Which fabric did you use for the lovely white shirt dress? I love the look and weight of it.
Thank you. The white light cotton twill was purchased from Joann a few months ago.
