Karon, it sounds to me like you have battle fatigue. All your ideas for the beautiful new fabrics are great. Maybe you need a pallet cleanser or a good win to take away the self-doubt. All the fabrics seem right for your original plans. As much as I would enjoy a 1538 sewalong, don't pressure yourself. I just enjoy seeing all the beautiful things you make. This is a fun hobby. No expectations.
Hello Kathy. You may be right because I had a busy week and need some rest. I definitely am relaxing and should have a less hectic coming week. Thank you for your support.
Cannot wait for your sew-a-long! You are so good at explaining everything and I would love to sew along with you-I have that shirt pattern too! Would also love to see a sew-a-long of your favorite shirt dress, especially how you finish the inside waist seams with seam tape. You are inspiring me to highlight my classic style, just as you do. You are so chic! I love your channel!
Cassandra, I hope the sew a long will be helpful. I appreciate your support and hope to also create a sew-along for S8014 . I am humbled by your kindness. Thank you for watching 🙂
Hello Karon, I loved everyone of your fabrics,,,, so gorgeous,,, plus I’d love to do your blouse/ shirt sew a long with you. I’m getting to week 7 on my knee replacement and feeling better and stronger, finally. It’s a hard recovery for sure, good days, then bad days but I think I’m finally moving forward I can’t wait to get back to sewing . But I’m ready and have that pattern. I can’t wait. You sew such beautiful garments don’t doubt yourself, ever. Take care and have a great week ! Nancy from northern Indiana
Hello Nancy. I am happy you have been recovering. I understand some days will be challenging, but hang in there and take the time to heal. I know you are anxious to resume sewing and can't wait for you to do what you enjoy. I am with you and look forward to you sewing soon. Thanks for your continuous support.
I have had the pattern 1538 for a while. So glad you have decided to do a sew along for it. You do such a beautiful job on your shirts and everything else!!🤗🎉🎉🎉❤!!
Your ideas are great and fabrics are beautiful. When we are tired, everything seems off balance. Little rest and self care do wonders for the imagination and creativity. You are a great sewist
Love following your sewing journey and fabric and pattern matchups. Sometimes I just let fabric/pattern thoughts sit in my head for a bit until they seem clear. All the fabrics you’ve chosen are gorgeous! The red and white floral needs something with simple lines to show off it’s beautiful pattern. The Itch-to-Stitch Melrose Top & Dress came to mind. I think you will do wonderful at a sew along!
Hello Donna. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. That is definitely a great option to relax and let the fabric guide the direction. I have given them a break and go back once rested. I will take a look at the Melrose top you recommended.
Your sewing skills are an inspiration, please continue to share your time and talents. Your styling is lovely and it is a treat to follow you. The cotton crepe panel is stunning.
Thank you so much! Pat, I am humbled by your support and encouragement. My work to be seen as inspiring is truly appreciated as it encourages my creativity and enables me to build new skills as I develop existing ones. I hope to continue learning from others and, in return, share my perspective.
Hi Karon! I love your the top you’re wearing, and again your fabric haul is beautiful can’t wait to see your makes, I’m looking forward to the sew along, you got this 😊
Hi Karon! I love the top you’re wearing and the fabric is just beautiful can’t wait to see your makes and looking forward to your sew along, you got this ❤
Karon, I"ve made the Butterick B5616 jacket 3 times, each time it got better, I didn"t think that I could do it but they are so beautiful. I watched your video sew along serval times. I love this jacket too ( I did a navy/white , a mustard color, and a solid white one). Thank you for your videos, keep them coming.
I think you might just be tired or overwhelmed. Make the Fire Dogs shirt and then look at the other pieces again. I also bought that in both color ways so I could make a garment with both. Take your time with the sew- a long. You can do it!!❤. Love the blouse you are wearing! Thank you for your video!❤️
Thanks for the suggestion, Jennifer. I agree, I might be exhausted from a busy week of work/life balance. I will definitely try to enjoy the sew along. Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts.
Thank you so much, Marjorie! I appreciate your support and encouragement. I take nothing for granted and value the time viewers take to watch my videos!!
Karon, you will be amazing at recording a sew along ! You are such a Joy to watch and so inspiring to myself and others. We are all rooting for you !!! :)
The fabric with the border would be great for a Maxi dress. I had grayish fabric with a border down the side, and I cut it, to where border was the bottom hem, it turned out nice. Thanks for sharing.
Karon, I can see how you can really get creative with that 1st fabric. It should soften up after you wash it. Make palazzo pants? or a shirtdress. I don't enjoy taping a sew along. I agree with you. Happy sewing!
Your fabric selection is beautiful. I'm amazed at how comfortable you are ordering online fabric. I've never ordered because I like to feel the fabric and place it against my skin. You have encouraged me to step out of the box, so I'll give it a try, especially since fabric stores are closing in my area.. Thank you.
The habit or comfort I have gained over time came out of necessity. The fabric store I have does not carry fabric I like, nor do I see quality pieces. JoAnn is all I have, and they don't seem to stock the lovely fabric I see other sewist purchase there. You will definitely learn to choose online now that you are losing your local store. Happy sewing and all the best with your shopping.
Hi Karen! I love all your ideas and I would love to be part of the sew along with you. I hope I have that pattern. I love all of your ideas , but I understand how you are feeling. I suggest you look at the fabrics on a new day. Set them aside and come back to it all. I bet you will feel different.
Thank God you're going to do a sew along for your shirt! I want to learn to do the cuff closure like yours with the placket. I can't wait. Do it soon Karon please :) (p/s. this is Debra' I'm using my husband's computer, so the name is different but it's me -Debra)
Hi Karon! The fabrics are beautiful! M8035 fell off my radar and I think I cut out the pattern. You inspire me to step out of my comfort zone. I too make a pattern until I’ve worked out the fitting issues. YAY! S1538 sew along. Have a good sewing day!
I enjoyed going thru ur stash - always fun to have someone to look with. Great ideas but tomorrow u may change ur mind on patterns n fabrics -- that is why create ur wardrobe 😊
Hi Karon, I am looking forward to the sew along! Your fabrics are gorgeous and very classic ...you will sew up some lovely pieces. I like the interlining idea too. What fabric are you planning to use for it?
Hi Sofy. Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts. I will be using a gotten lawn to interline as that will help to maintain a breathable garment.
Hi. My humble opinion: paradise brushed no.1 fabric in 8035, with border horizontal and vertical for top wrap section, fabric no. 3 agree too busy for the shirt (even though the one you made before is lovely), green and beige fabric 1538 is perfect for sewalong,. Is the blue/pink dress you wearing gathered at the waist? Lovely fabrics. Thank you for sharing with us 😊
Thanks for sharing, Jennifer. The birder fabric might be a bitcto heavy, but will see. Yes, a lovely shirt it will be. No, my top is not gathered at the waist. Happy sewing 😀
Hi Karon, just turn on the camera and do your best Mimi G impersonation. Remembering the entire time that if you don't like it, you don't have to upload it.
