O no! Don’t cut them off if you really want pants- get a skin colored fabric for your lining and your pockets on white pants. 😊 Take out the white lining. You said you like Talbots- my Talbots white pants always have tan pocket bags to prevent lining show through. Try it! ❤ you work too hard for perfection on your garments! Love the blue jacket! Smashing!
Hello Sunshine. Thank you for the suggestion as the information is helpful. I will do alterations and use tan fabric in whites going forward. Thank you for watching 🙂
I meant to say the same! I learned this from a pair of trousers I bought on sale. On a hanger, the bits of skin colored fabric looked odd, but as soon as I put the garment on it was obvious how clever the tan lining and facings were.
Line in tan the sides of the pocket that face outward. The fly shield side facing outward. The waistband interfacing and facing. This gives you the option you to skip a full lining if you want the coolest feeling pale colored pants. Obviously a full lining would produce a bright white look, clean finish and durability for pants you wear in A/C or cooler temperatures.
Thank you for sharing your information regarding pants lining. Information appreciated
Karon, sewing is always a learning experience for me. I've made the same mistake when shortening a zipper. You can definitely save the pants and make them shorts. I love your blouse! Perfection! 🤩
Thank you so much, Grace! I felt really silly when the zipper came off, but I definitely can confirm it's an experience filled with opportunities.
Thanks for watching 🙂
Love, love your work. Can’t wait for the sew-a-long 🎉
Thank you so much! I am truly humbled and appreciative of your support and time.
It will be out today.
Beautiful work as always! I can understand your frustration with the pants. Maybe instead of white lining, try a skin tone? Similar to how brown-skinned folks wear brown or black undies under white. Every project is a learning experience, and I appreciate that you share with us!❤😊
I appreciate your time watching as well as sharing your feedback. Thank you so much for your support.
Beautiful! Your work is meticulous and so professional. Thank you for posting your makes.
Thank you for your kind feedback. I appreciate your time.
That shade of blue is goooooorgeous!!! 💗
I totally agree. Thank you 😊
Karon in greek and armenian means the purity and creativity. You're a perfect Karon.
You are too kind. I appreciate your kindness but far from perfect. Thank you for your support.
Wonderful video, as always. Your sewing is so precise.
I appreciate it. Thank you.
Great presentation of your sewing projects. Nice adapation of MiMi G pattern S8889 which is a top that you sew as a jacket.
I appreciate it. Thank you!!
Your sewing is so crisp
Thank you!!
Aww, what a shame about the white linen trousers 😢. ALWAYS interline trousers to the full length, even wool, or crepe etc. I use Bremsilk for wool/crepe and a very light lawn for linen. Both are great because they can be dyed to match (r as close as possible😂). it’s worth the extra fabric, and the garment will last years. Blue top/jacket is really very nice, as is the shirt. Good to see you back in full creative mode❤
Ruth, thank you for the recommendation. I definitely learned from this experience and will be interning my next trousers.
I appreciate you watching and sharing your feedback. 🙂
Nice makes 🥰
Thank you, Gladys.
Beautiful!
Thank you.
Beautiful makes
Thank you 😊
Blue jacket is awesome. There is a video on You Tube that shows putting the zipper tab on. The white print shirt is very pretty.
Thanks for the tip and kind feedback. I appreciate it.
Hi, Karon. The tops colors and construction are great. I wonder if you could hack the white pants into a skirt or short s, as you mentioned. I do not know how to do the hacking, I just seen it done with old jeans. Keep up the good work
Mitzi, thank you so much. Yes, it's possible, but I will redo the lining as this would be such a waste. I thought about it and will just rest it for now.
Comments and recommendations have encouraged me to fix it.
Beautiful
Thank you so much.
Your work is always so neat and tidy Karon!!! It's a shame about your linen pants.
Thank you, Kris. I know, right, but I intend to fix it at some point. I reconsidered, and it's better to fix than waste good fabric.
Hi Karen, What if you line the white pants in a skin tone shade? Or use a light brown interlock knit lining.
Shay, great suggestion.... I have read a few suggestions and recommendations like yours and will give it a try. I appreciate your support 🙂
Hi Karen. I bought my pattern and fabric for the sew along. What view of that blouse pattern did you make with the green cow fabric?
I’m so excited. I’ve never done a sew along
Hello Lori... it will be posted today. It's quite long but it's my first one so I will improve in the next. Thank you so much for your time in advance.
The blue jacket would look tres chic with white shorts.
Yes, it definitely would. I agree, Betsy. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts 🙂
oh so sad about the pants, can you add on a longer piece of cotton to the legs to make the inner lining longer like to the knee?
I was going to ask the same thing. I would do that but might be feeling the seams and could be bugging while walking.
You can remove the lining and wear the linen pants at nights.
Thanks for sharing your feedback 🙂
