Hi there I have a fault with my Zoe was thinking to change the whole inverter unit but I hear that some part inside is coded to the car can you tell me what part is coded as I wouldn’t like to change this unit and find out after fitting that it wouldn’t run. Thanks in advance for your help

We made 4 packs, on demand only. And one pack si mounted on my 451 for fast swaps

Do you recommend QC Carge or similar type of cancelling the rotor cooling totally to prevent future leakage?
@@davidcurkan7220 No, that is bandaid solution and ballbearing killer. All motors without rotor or bearing cooling fail prematurely. Check Kia Renault and other videos from our channel.
@ thanks for the explanation. Looks logical. If they cooled the rotor it should stay cooled.
I would like to see that bit of regulation from France. In general all components in vehicle use should be type approved, so if you recycle components from other cars, in other EU countries it should not be an issue.

@@LSwaggy yes, one is already assembled dor stock. You must leave yours for assessment (BMS be in healthy condition and current sensor) and you get new one
Where are you guys located? If too far, would I be able to purchase just the upgraded pack itself?
@ No. Service is “upgrading your pack”. So that means your bring yours
Maybe a good idea to import old EVs from France and upgrade them? I don't know what paperwork is needed here in Sweden, but I think upgrading a battery should be legal here since other modifications can be done.

i saw a video of a guy who rebuilt the battery pack of a renault twizzy with different battery cells too, there is even a tesla models in russia with 125kwh custom made battery.
i really idmire what you were able to achieve there! but i have one question! the battery cells of the nissan leaf degraded quickly because they were not managed properly there was no dedicated cooling/heating system to keep them at the optimal temoperature all the time. did you add anything to compensate that?
The lack of cooling just matters when rapid charging which I'm not sure the Kangoo supports. But the chemistry of the battery is not very good, they degrade heavily even if not used.
The cooling isn't necessarily necessary if you use chemistries that are better with higher temperature dis/charging. Also lower internal resistance leads to lower temperatures.
@@EngineersFear the battery packs/cells were designed with cooling in mind for even charging in very hot conditions which the Renault doesnt have! maybe by addind a better fan or something will prevent any incidents later!
@@EngineersFear if the battery pack was just 48v or 72v like on solar systems it would have been much better for modifications of all kinds.
During a few months they allowed putting 41kWh packs on 22kWh Zoe. Same enclosure, just a reprogramming and a change in the registration. Then they banned it. No explanation. Well done giving that Kangoo another life !

Is there another way to remove the alert of the low SOH without reading the EPROM then backup and find the alert flag?

May be the France government want's to Protect its citizens from the risk of fires. You can do a lot wrong with Li Batteries if someone is does not know what he are doing. I agree to France that there is a need of check to this repairs …… like a simplified new street Approve …… for example are the new fixation able to protect the cell from shotrcut in case of accidents. In every case this must be possible independent from the original Manufacturer.

12:45 Do you have a reference to the french government (parliamen?) not allowing battery repairs? Never heard of any law about that.
@@Stefan_Dahn Research little bit. They do not allow any change on vehicle what was previously homologated. But Diesel DPF Off tampering and EGR tampering and tuning tampering is allowed
France is one of the most restrictive country about cars modifications. Retrofit has been allowed in 2020 but very limited, so few shops and costly. Don't have sources, just recommending Marc Areny from EVShop, the entrepreneur who decided to start retrofit in Roumania because it was not possible in France in the 2010s.
@@evclinic I live in France, it is right. No modification are allowed. Also EGR tampering and tuning is illegal but it is not well controlled. We have every two years a check up but it is not enough for some intern modification
@@evclinic lol!!!! DPF or EGR modifications are very safe and totally easy kinds of things to do compare to building an entire custom battery pack which is high voltage by the way! totally diffferent things.

People who don't know make stupid decisions. In germany, some local government decided to prohibit ev's in parking garages. They told it's fire protection. But to me, it seems to be EV hater with decision rights Playing around with batteries is short cut with fire risc and dangerous voltage > 50v as well. So it should be allowed to trained people, but not prohibited at all.
the problem isnt allowing repairs but its actually making sure that those modifications are done properly and batteries can be very dangerous you know that well! the nissan leaf like this Renault was not designed with proper cooling/heating so replacing the battery cells with different ones without adding any AC system is actually dangerous tbh!
@@StarkStromer concerning battery fires the problem is putting them out is a totally different level compared to an ICE, they dont make laws just like that!

@alanmay7929 the BMS contolls the temperature, it's just throttling down 😀 You can put pletier elemnts in for cooling 😎

Good stuff, one thing I wanna point out, you will get the same Megaohm reading on all three of the stator leads as they are shorted together internally when the stator is rewound initially, also, I don't think you should be megger testing the stator while the three phase leads are connected to the inverter, It could damage the electronics on the inverter.

Can we use the modules as a power storage for home as is? How about using the whole battery pack without all the disassembly?

Very impressive. I like the idea of reusing old parts. How about the best chargers on the market i know. The Tesla obc. It even allow to charege with 7.4 kw on a single phase, even it's a 11 kw 3 pase charger. It combine two phases to make this happen. Same for battery and components around kike the octovalve. Could you integrate the Tesla charger + the byd blade batteries into my Smart? That would give you more cells to repair more smarts.
