I have this soundbar and its performance is very disappointing. The subwoofer is very weak, the only time that you really hear it is during room calibration or when playing the demo sound from the soundbar. When listening to music the sound is high pitched and hard on the ears with little bass from the subwoofer. Dealing with LG about this has been a bad experience. Based on my experience I would not recommend this soundbar.

Just subscribed thanks for the info. I have tried looking through the comments to see if anyone has asked about the Q930D soundbar and if these same settings will work the same. I am using a 75" Neo QLED Q Symphony TV. Its around 3.5mtrs away from my sofa, the soundbar sits on a solid wood dresser directly under the tv and the floor is carpeted. Room is about 4mtrs by 4mtrs and is square. just ordered some mounting dream speaker stands that will go just behind each side of the sofa facing slightly towards me instead of facing forward (do you think this is best way for them to face) also have the sub woofer directly at the side of the wooden dresser under the tv with the fabric on the right hand side facing right hand wall and not sideways facing the sofa, is this correct. I know that's a lot of info but just wanted to give you an idea of my room size etc so i get the best sound for movies and tv as i love surround sound but not sure if adaptive is the better option for scary movies or jumpy scenes thanks again

I've had the q990d for about a month. The buttons on the top of the bar stopped working and the minus button was activating itself and turning the sound to zero. Samsung repair came out and he disconnected the buttons so I could use it while we wait for the button replacement to come in. Oh and the only way to turn on the mic that is used for space fit is from the button on the bar that has been disconnected. Nope no way to do it with remote or smart things. So far just problems. Hopefully Samsung gets this fixed.

On the other video I talked about my dilemma between a new amplifier and a soundbar. One question: I have a 40cm (1,3 feet) tall furniture where I placed my actual front L+R speakers, while the central speaker is placed at 125cm (4,1 feet). The sound is good but when I bought a couple of 40cm tall speaker stands, to raise up the front speakers, the sound is so much better for music but also for movies. So I'm asking myself what happens to the sound, if I decided to buy a soundbar placed onto the furniture at only 40cm from the floor. I fear it will sound worse than now (can't get the old amplifier to work on HDMI with my new TV, but at least Spdif works). I'd love to try a soundbar, but I'm scared on my tight space it could sound badly, since I can't raise up the TV and therefore a soundbar. Could the sound calibration solve this issue? I guess not, because the front facing channels won't recalibrate the sound up.

I just bought a Philips OLED Ambilight TV (great!) and my 14yo Yamaha amplifier with just HDMI OUT and no ARC, basically doesn't recognize it and won't send the audio to the amplifier. That's why I'm looking for options: a new amplifier or a soundbar. It sounds like the LG one is cheaper than Samsung 990D but also with worse sound quality. I have 3 options: 1.Denon AVC-3800H 9.4 - I have 8 JBL speakers LOL, 4 of them collected when I bought a 2nd hand subwoofer, because mine died, so I would fill the height1 and surround back channels, but at the cost of cables, a lot of cables. 2.Yamaha Aventage RX-A2A 7.2 to stay on the cheaper side. 3.Samsung Q-990D which is quite expensive, just like the Denon, but perfect for the movies and probably not too bad for the music. If I go for the soundbar, then my amplifier and the front speakers will be used just for music with my TV Box Android and a 7" touch screen display, perfect to display music covers. Now I'm gonna watch your review of the Samsung. Thank you for the review! If I had some doubts about the LG, now I'm sure I won't buy any LG soundbar...

Are you currently using this soundbar in your setup? I have had for about a month now and it becomes unresponsive occasionally and I have to turn it off and back on to get it to work. Just randomly happens. Recently went 5 days without the issue and then it happened last night.

I thought my S95TR was broken because the sound was so trash when playing music but I guess it just turns out it sucks with music. The HMDI is suspect because I could get DV when playing a 4K Blu Ray but it refused to do 4K DV when I hooked up my Apple TV 4K

I’m curious as to why you said you wouldn’t use the pass through on the q990d for your Xbox or PS5? Image quality? If it’s 4k/120, what kind of image quality issues did you notice? I definitely agree that not getting qsymphony with the pass through is a bummer, that could be a good reason to not use it over a Samsung’s 2.1 port.

Why can’t I get my soundbar to indicate that it’s playing Dolby atmos when I’m watching only Dolby atmos content via Apple TV? My sound bar shows stereo pcm when I hit the info button on my soundbar remote. My tv has the eArc and Dolby tuners on.

Any recommendations on settings for a small rectangle shape room tv and soundbar only 7ft away . It's friggin awesome and shakes the room and I definitely do not need to turn my dub up at all I've actually had it -1 or -2 haha . I've got q930d . Looking to get my centre etc adjusted as sometimes it's too in your face if the volume is quite loud .

Too bad the rear speakers have wires to connect to the power. LG should follow the example of the JBL Sound Bar 1300 with fully wireless rear speakers.

The LG G4 doesn't perform well when it comes to watching 720p, 1080i, or 1080p content. The picture quality just isn't up to par when it attempts to upscale. I checked it out at Best Buy and gave it a try, but I decided against purchasing it.

I have a LG C3 77” and want to get a sound bar but not sure if I should get the 990C or the S95TR? What are your thoughts and what would you get for the TV I have? I watch a lot of football, other sports, movies and I only play madden and Ncca 25.

I just bought this soundbar yesterday. I don't use it for 4K 120hz, I hook my console directly to the TV and then run it down to the soundbar. I've had no issues thus far, and set up using the app is almost automatic. I'm coming from a Vizio Elevate 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos soundbar system, and I've had no issues with that system as well, surprisingly. The Vizio definitely sounds good, robust, and quite satisfying. But as soon as I started playing content on the Samsung, I instantly noticed how greater the spacial audio was. It's a wider sound stage and how it places audio around you, and certain areas of your room will have you looking in that direction. I mean there was a bird chirping in a tree to the right in one of the scenes from a movie I was watching, and I swear I got up and walked towards that side of the room thinking there was a bird right out side the window on the ledge. I felt clueless, but awe struck after I realized it was coming from the Q990B. I mean, I literally rewind the scene just to relive that experience. I was disappointed at first at the bass coming from the sub when compared to the Vizio. The Vizio sub is bigger and delivers room shaking impactful thump, but it is a little harsh with its delivery even when you turn the sub down. There is no in between it just always delivers hard. The sub also doesn't deliver evenly. If you move a couple feet over to a different spot in the room, you will notice how much bass is missing how flat it sounds. Move to another spot, and it sounds full. With the Samsung I wasn't getting the bass I thought I should from the music from the title screen of a video game, but then I thought that's probably because the Vizio sub was always overtaking and I got use to it, because when I started playing the game and watching action scenes in movies the Q990B sub absolutely sounds better than the Vizio sub. The Q990B sub not only fills the room with bass, but it's even. The Soundwave hit your ears evenly, and no matter where I was in the room, the sound was full. It also doesn't overtake the whole system but instead delivers smoothly, blends well, and compliments the rest of the system. This is by far the best soundbar system you can get just under the infamous Nakamichi Dragon, which is too pricey and far too big and too much for my space. 👏 Kudos to Samsung, they deserve their flowers for the Q990B, I'm satisfyingly impressed and plan to keep this soundbar until it works no more.

I just wanted to let you know that you didn't mention using the pixel refresher etc. under the Oled screen saver option. this will take the pressure off your wife which will help. esp, if you're gaming for 3-4 hours and then turning the TV off
