- I have been able to spend time with this LG G4 and have been able to assess its overall strengths and weaknesses. In this video I go over the tv features and my touch on my time spent with this amazing tv! The LG G4 is the top of the line OLED offering from LG in 2024.
This tv was purchased with my own money. My findings are my own after experiencing what the LG G4 Oled has to offer.
The LG G4 comes in 55, 65, 77, 83, & 97 inch sizes
You picking up a G4?

Can u do a side by side next to the cx? Showing all the settings plz
Interesting review, thanks
Great review I have the A95L and the LG C2 and the G4 is looking great
Hope you're enjoying. Thanks for watching👍💪
Great review. What picture mode do you use for streaming like Netflix?
I'm a fan of the dolby vision - vivid or standard mode on the g4. They present more pop and visible detail. The personalized picture mode was pretty good as well.
Good review, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
It was a challenge picking up some of the detail of the G4 during some of the comparisons. My camera was struggling😅
**The 83 inch G4 is going to be mind boggling🤯
*LG does include a "5 year panel warranty" and burn in may NOT be covered, as the verbiage is vague
Great video man! How close is LG G4's upscaling to Sony's A95L? Is there any area in which the G4 is significantly better?
Thanks! The lg g4 upscaling of lower bit rate content on the 55 inch wasn't that great, to me. Maybe the larger sizes will do better in that area. A95l upscaling of lower bitrate content still superior.
G4's brightness is superior, not significantly. If you're a gamer then the g4s gaming features are much better
@@TheRokaphella Hehe , nobody beat DRC from Sony
@@TheRokaphellawhich gaming features do you think push the G4 ahead of the A95L?
Great content!
Thanks for watching 🖖
Eagerly awaiting LG S95TR soundbar full detailed review
Especially in comparison to the previous LG flagship S95QR soundbar
It’s dog shit LG makes horrible soundbars.
Hey, I'm new to your channel. Great content. I wanted to purchase the A95L 77 this year but I'm not so sure anymore. What do you think regarding my use case: Light controlled room, streaming series and movies, sometimes soccer, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. My focus is on motion, HDR impact and upscaling SDR content like Switch games. Thanks a lot in advance...
Thanks for tuning in! The A95l is a great tv. The gaming aspects are somewhat limited, but for all your requirements it looks like it could be a winner.
The g4 will be brighter and bring more to the table pertaining to gaming.
@@TheRokaphella Thanks for your response 😃 Do you think the A95L has still more wow factor and better motion?
@@BeatelementhePiH
I’m not sure about the motion but it definitely wows me over the a95l. Higher peak brightness with more clarity and detail. Better looking white color. For my eyes, the G4 has a more natural realistic image. My guess is that it’s the better tv overall at the moment.
At last you have the choice to get the table top stand with the G4 if don’t want to hang in on the wall
Before the samsung update, waa the picture almost as good as the oled and between the two sets which one as a better sound from the set bass and mid wise?
Before Firmware 1622, my Samsung qn900b had excellent contrast, color, and brightness with the previous firmware 1602. Content now looks more dull than before and less contrast. The sound also took a hit and I have to turn up the volume more than before to get to the audio levels that we use on daily basis.
Where the tvs are currently located, my Samsung has better bass and mids and the LG G4 has better clarity (treble)
Nice review, speed recovery
Much appreciated👌💪
I will be getting one too😊
Congrats Michael! You will enjoy man👌🖖
@TheRokaphella yo bratha I have a QD OLED S95B Samsung which is a awesome TV but I'm willing to switch back to the LG G4. I've heard so many awesome things about this TV that I can't resist. I think it might be the TV of the year but if it isn't I still want to own one. I can't wait to get my hands on mine and just sit back and enjoy a fabulous G4.
Amazing man! What do u think of the colors? Is it good?, sharpness & details? As an 8k tv owner, both in 85 & 83 which one do u prefer for movies?, Thanks man!
Samsung has better color volume. G4 has better contrast, sharpness, clarity, and details.
Before samsung neutered my 8k tv it would be a DRAW, because they both have their strengths and weaknesses... but now the LG is just the better overall tv between the two.
@@TheRokaphella i see thank u so much bro!
I have Cx aswell and thinking of upgrading to G4. Do you notice any difference between Cx and G4 especially in gaming. I have Series X btw.
Yes, the G4 visuals (brightness, available detail, and clarity) and motion processing are much better than the CX for gaming.
@@TheRokaphella that`s true. in dark scenes with gaming the cx was to dim, dont seen any details in dark areas. i have the lg g3 77 inch. its better then the lg cx, for sure. but colors looks with avatar better on the youtube 4k hdr demo. its strange, because lg g3 is micro lens panel. but it dont have glossy screen. can you do that comparison for me? lg cx with avatar 4k hdr trailer and on the lg g3? blue looks nicer blue on the lg cx. its strange!
@@TheRokaphella Thanks for the answer
The Kobe vs Jordan Debatte makes it hard for me😂 I'm more of a Kobe fan, but Jordan has one more ring💍😳
I hope they put better processing into QD-OLED TVs.
Do u still see a difference between the 8K and 4K G4 in sharpness and 3D look. Or is it equal?
Like MJ, the A95L has become synonymous with oled tv greatness...the LG G4 is right there with it. The LG G4 has superior contrast and sharpness over my qn900b. But for a miniled, the 85 inch qn900b (prior to Samsung's 1622 had oled like qualities (high contrast) with insane specular highlights. The G4 takes it, but I truly wish I could have compared the g4 vs. Firmware 1602 qn900b😅
8:17 Newer Evo Oleds doesn't seem to suffer from this issue anymore in my experience.
That is encouraging news. Thanks for watching💪
i never owned an LG...how was the glare on the g4? i can see the windows reflecting in your video..but that is only in the daytime? how visible is it during the day? thanks
The screen is beautiful and glossy. So there will be reflections and a mirror like effect to an extent🤷♂️
It wasn't a big deal to me at all during the day. At times you can see reflections though.😅
Great review I have the A95L and 2022 Panasonic LZ2000 and the best tv in my house the Panasonic LZ2000 , Better hdr impact and better motion than my A95L, Panasonic is the creator the heat sink , so it doesn't dim down while I am watching hockey like the Samsung s95c I had and Samsung's motion I can't do on any of there tvs , Panasonic ,Sony, then LG all have better motion , I have had the LZ2000 for over 2 years with 3 updates ,none to fix the image they have there tvs Hollywood tuned by a Hollywood colurists .So you don't get your tv updated into the ground like Samsung.
I haven't seen a Panasonic OLED this way. Congrats on having 2 awesome tvs. Thanks for watching Michael👍
Panasonic oled tvs are the best by a mile but to pricy I ok with the lg cx for now.👍👍
I gushed over this comment 😁 we need MORE Panasonic fanatics out there. But really, Panasonic should just STEP IT UP and reclaim their former glory.
👍👍
Good news is Panasonic getting the new Mediatek chip, basically same as Sony's in the A95L. So graduation/banding and very dark scenes will be improved , as well as responsiveness. Panasonic are wizards at getting the most from their SOCs . I think even the new 77" non-MLA Evo panel the Z93A will be great for purists - ie mainly FMM , SDR content . In a darken room won't need all that brightness and it will do 1000Nits easily. Given that G4 looks amazing, apparently C4 is a step up.
Anyway you only have the best TV for a year at most , think OLED and QDOLED have at least 3 to 5 more years of reasonable improvements if not more . Still people love their older TVs the LZ2000, the C1 the A90J etc
New organic chemicals , new ways to stop organics heating up, so can run brighter with less heat and longer life , more layers , a new Blue-Pholed , cheaper ways to print , Samsung must be working on it's own micro lense solution.
I also have the CX OLED. Is it worth upgrading to G4? Are we talking about double the peak brightness? From almost 800 to 1600? Or is it really 3000 as they LG claims and in what mode is that and settings?
I don't have measuring tools but it's gotta be in the neighborhood 2000 to 2500 nits peak brightness. That's what has me wondering about panel longevity, because the overall G4 BRIGHTNESS is no joke for an oled panel (with mla tech)
Thats at 2% window probably and used for a couple of seconds in vivid mode and when gaming using it with HGIG supported games in PS5, XSX and PC with windows 11
What tv would you say is the best at upscaling 720p and HD?
Would probably still give it to sony for their cognitive processor xr to clean up lower bit rate content.
@@TheRokaphellawhat about between samsung 4k high end oled models vs lg c3 or g4?
Still up in the air on what I want to buy this year g4 or sony a95l everyone says qd oled the next best thing?
Tough decision man, they are both awesome tvs. You just have to assess what features are more important to you
@TheRokaphella yeah I'm more gaming but I like to watch movies with good picture quality it's a hard call sony more vibrant colours but the g4 with the new ai enhancements seems to make things look better
For me, the biggest outliers for choosing one or the other would be overall brightness/ detail of the g4 vs color volume/upscaling of the a95l.
*And if you're a gamer g4 has better gaming features and less lag😂
@TheRokaphella thanks I think I will go that way now I've just got to decide what size lol
If you're gaming then take the only one with 4 HDMI 2.1 ports.@lordwicked8855
I wonder if through the service mode you can downgrade the firmware of the samsung.
From what I've read you can't roll back firmware on samsung tvs...
i got a lg cx 65", do you think the LG 83" is worth the upgrade?
Absolutely. The 83 inch will be glorious. I'm entertaining it as well😂😅
So which one is overall brighter, the qn900b or g4???
Due to Samsung's latest 1622 firmware on my 8K QN900B, the brightness and contrast took a hit. Currently, the G4's APL appears brighter roughly 90 percent of the time. It's not by much, but for an oled to be that bright...
Great review, loved all the inserts😂. You stated that the upscaling is just ok, this is important to me as the tv will be in the living. How does the G4 look with RUclips TV or similar? The most 4k that I watch consists of movies which most tvs do well anyway. Also, just my opinion, your CX actually looks better in the video, maybe it was the distance and size of the G4 that made the difference. Thanks for your help.
Lol. Glad you enjoyed. The g4 is definitely superior to the cx. My current camera struggled to capture what my eyes were seeing during the comparisons. I do not currently have youtube tv, so I cannot comment on that, But other sdr content look pretty good, but I was just expecting more from the new a11 processor, due to how amazing the 4k quality looked on the g4. I was hoping it would clean up lower bitrate content more. Definitely check out sdr and low bitrate content before purchasing to see if LG's current efforts are up to your liking.
I have a lg c1 83inch will the lg g4 83inch be worth the upgrade or should I stick with what I have? I do really want it but I need to know will I notice any difference in them both ?
The processor and available brightness in the G4 is no joke and you WILL notice the difference
@@TheRokaphella thank you I appreciate the reply
@@TheRokaphella thought I’d let you know . I pulled the trigger got the 83inch g4 arrives in 2 weeks , got a great discount here in the uk it was 20% then an extra 400 on top paid £5234 ( 6664 dollars )
@@jimmyflynn5189 congrats! I hope you enjoy! Double back if u get a chance and let me know what u think. I'm keeping an eye on the 83 inch💪👌
@@TheRokaphella so update .. I’ve spent a fortune lol , bought the g4 83 .. then thought I need to update my 4K player so I bought a Panasonic ub820.. and I thought I need the best sourond sound to get with it all so just watched your review and bought the Samsung q990D . Everything will be set up on the 15th June. I’ll let you know how it all goes
Dude I’m about to just buy the 55” G4 for a pc monitor. I’m so sick of waiting for an awesome monitor.
You wont regret it. I used s95c for this purpose and just ordered the g4. The monitor industry is a shitshow that cant compete
If you go the 55 inch g4 route for a pc monitor, you will definitely enjoy my friend😂
picture is true eye candy
Have you been living under a rock? There’s been quite a few QD OLED monitors that have released within the past few months 😂
@The_Punisher202 all of which have restricted brightness. They suck. Put one side by side with a flagship tv, no contest
@@The_Punisher202 I’ve had the PG32UCDM. It’s brightness is bad
Will Samsung ever stop nerfing their TVs with firmware updates?
Doesn't look like it
@@TheRokaphella Yeah. I am quiet disappointed. I still have a 2016 model in my room that was gimped to the point that I have to use my PC or something like a Google Chrome Cast with Google TV. It was slowed down like hell. And to make it worse‚ it doesn't work anymore with SmartThings.
Thats why i'm avoiding Samsung after they downgraded the S95B tv
No HDR+!?
No HDR10+
I ordered one today. My s95c had 4 faults. Fuck samsung. I loved the panel but their qc is appauling. Looking forward to this tv but am a little worried about color compared to qd
Congrats on the new G4 purchase.👍💪
S95C has a beautiful picture with great color volume, but dealing with Samsung is like playing the lottery sometimes.
The g4 is brighter, the ui is snapper, and the build quality is great. Unless you have the tv side by side, the g4's colors are still very good.
I wonder if qd mla could be a thing in the future for lg😂
*nice to dream
@@TheRokaphella sick man thanks. Can't wait to crank this tv up
Received mine yesterday. Weekend hookup
Hey man, what’s the verdict after getting your G4? Is there a big difference in color, coming from a QD Oled? I’m in a similar situation.
@tylerstirling2843 the color is just as good. Its also brighter than s95c, has the best clarity ive ever seen, and better motion handling. Its also flawless in terms of the user experience. Took me a bit to get all the settings right but yeh im blown away
Lg cx looks still amazing 😮😮😮❤
It's still holding on😅 But the g4 is definitely on another level
@@TheRokaphella should i upgrade?i have the c3 48inch for movies tv shows and pc gaming with rtx 4080
What size would you be going to if you upgrade your 48 inch? The G4 is an improvement over the C3 but it really depends on if you have to have the best of best or are you content with a "solid" tv in the c3...
Wait until the sales bro. The prices fall massively if you can hold out for a few months. Plus it's a good excuse to save funds 👍🏻
Lg g4 is a android smartphone 😂
🤦♂️😂
