At ReStart Living, we provide a unique methodology in injury prevention, pain management, conditioning, and peak performance training based on a combination of water and land exercises that allows our clients to pursue their careers, implement their dreams, and take control of their lives.
The Burdenko Method is a water and land technique and has been used extensively for rehabilitation, conditioning, and training. This sequential program begins in the vertical position in deep water and uses a trunk buoyancy device so the extremities can move freely. The Burdenko Method came to the forefront with the treatment of high-profile athletes such as Paul Wylie, Kevin McKale, and Nancy Kerrigan. It is a method that requires focused attention, precision, and body-mind concentration. It makes one think about movement and the qualities of movement: balance, coordination, flexibility, endurance, speed, and strength.

Please provide the instruction on time or number of the repetition needed for the exercises to be effective.
Thank you for watching! Hope you are enjoying the content! Exercise 1 - Front Crossovers To start for this one build up to 10 times to one direction and then switch and go 10 times the other way. (1 time would be crossing over with one leg in front) Exercise 2 - Back Crossovers To start for this one build up to 10 times to one direction and then switch and go 10 times the other way. (1 time would be crossing over with one leg in front) Exercise 3 - Karaoke To start for this one build up to 10 times to one direction and then switch and go 10 times the other way. (1 time would be crossing the leg both in front and behind) If this is easy can build up to 3 sets of each one. Let us know if you have any questions! For all 3 of these exercises we would recommend building up to 10reps at first (Right leg & Left Leg would be 1 rep). Depending how that feels can move on to a second & third set after. In the symmetrical walking forward, are you doing a reverse chest fly that is, is the back of your hand pushing the water back or are you slicing the water? In the reverse walking are you doing a chest fly that is are you pushing with the palm of your hand against the water or are you slicing your hand through the water?
Thank you for watching! The arm motion for symmetrical walking forward: 1. Start with the elbows bent - near the body - palms facing each other. 2. As you move them forward the palms will begin to rotate so they end up facing the bottom of the pool when fully extended. 3. Next when moving them to the side - you want the palms pushing the water back ( so rotate hands to have palms not facing each other) 4. When hands are all the way to the side bring the elbows back to the body (back to step 1) The arm motion for symmetrical walking backward: 1. Start with the elbows bent - near the body - palms facing each other. 2. Extend the arms back (straight elbow) - palms will be facing each other 3. Rotate palms away from each other - (you want the palms pushing the water to help you move backwards) and swing arms through the water all the way forward till the hands are in front of the body 4.When hands come all the way forward bring the elbows back to the body (back to step 1) If you have any other questions let us know!

I do this without any air-belt or air equipment and am standing in deep water without movement too.
