Cool, Thanks for sharing friend. The engine block, do you have to have a "Torque Hone plate" to bore.and hone B20 Block? And please what engine oil do you use on your buildt engines😅
yes the machineshop we go to always uses a torque plate when boring and honing we use any oil as long as it’s 5w30 or 10w40 and we do oil change every 3 months
🤟🏻
💯
A great source of knowledge as usual. Do you weight balance the wrist pins and rods (with caps, cap screws and bearings) as well as the pistons?
Yeah this time the piston pin / wrist pin ended up being all equal
whats your take on dremelling away the valve stem seal thats exposed in the port?
I don’t know really… we have gone deep into 12s on Pump gas no e85 without doing it “yet” though we seen a lot of 11sec mods on their 13sec cars…we do what works for us
Always a good pleasure seeing your videos ralph

@@TRDKhanbrothers thanks man! I’m trying to make this series an even better one than previous with more details and work shared plus the owner plans to dyno this with his tuner so we definitely will have the results 😎
So i understand this , so thanks . What i dont understand is after this is done . How do you unlock VTec. Taking it back apart doesn't that defeat this purpose ? Or are we just finding out where to lock the cam gears ? I have bc turbo state 2 cams and vms gen 2 gears .
@@brianburris yes u take it apart and remove the way you locked vtec… The purpose of this? Is because ALL cam specifications are set based on the vtec lobe u can’t check vtec lobe without locking it… The primary and secondary lobe are positioned exactly correct “with” the vtec lobe
@@SRDmotorsports any experience with f20b? The cams bc stage 2 turbo cams have pin holes to line up tdc like the b motors have too. how close is that to the cam centers of a new cam ? There is probably a lot of ° you can still move with dialing it in or will those now be a little off ? Are the holes for if the motor is in already in the car you can just get close To tdc ? I went 1mm bigger on the intake valve size cuz it was the only way to get after market valves. They don't make the f20b ones , so you have to run the h22 ones. But I am only bored over .007. so I was worried about clearing the cyl walls ..Also at zero out cam gears I had .060 clearance v2v but with the cams and new springs it's hard to keep spinning, how much ° do you think I can move each cam and be okay with your experience?
Hard to tell and that’s the purpose of degreeing cuz any resurfacing/milling on the head and block does change the cam timing a bit So the markings are there assuming it’s bnew untouched head / block
I like listening to your videos. You can tell u love what you're doing...

@@SRDmotorsports can’t wait for the project to be done. It’s something that I plan on doing but didn’t push through so i’m excited on this
I suspected that cuz the YCP gen 3 existed so I figured it was “planned” indeed
What was the final results in mm? 45-48mm
What do u mean 45-48mm ?
where do you get your porting sandpaper rolls ?
Standard abrasives and Ebay plenty and if in Asia then Lazada
can you get your hands on a K24Z cylinder head and port intake and exhaust
depends maybe locally we don’t have that
have you built any strong non tecs?
Non vtec? Not yet
@@SRDmotorsports if you did, what would you do? I have something in mind, was wondering if you could give some guidance😁
the usual, crower has cams and even Brian crower , both are good choices Years ago a PR builder (I think it’s PR) ran a EG hatch that’s b20 nonvtec, dude did run 9sec all motor he’s now running K I believe he’s “ La Sata Racing “

@@saadiqeverson2161 yeah that’s good
This is my kind of build! Are Type R cams worth it vs GSR on this kind of build? Love this series!
@@pacoespinar97 the actual CTR cam might be better as that’s a bit bigger than GSR and ITR cams that’s not ‘00 Knew you’d like this one!!! I’m actually still hoping for a local crv customer we can do magic on Non Vtec !
what’s the dome cc measurement on those? seems like gen3 YCP has much aggressive dome vs gen2/1

yes sir yes sir another great installment! i look forward to the build series and dyno for this car so i can learn from my mistakes when planning out my friend's b20v. he was going for the same oem finish but his b20v even being high comp (11.5:1) only made 178whp. got me thinking...something aint right

What are your thoughts on a 85mm bore b20? I have a b20 block that had to be bored out 1mm but it wasn't until afterwards that I learned the sleeves are weak and it's best to have it sleeved by shops such as Golden Eagle.
@@vision27 really depends or actually not sure but I’ve seen some go 85mm on b20 But on stock 84 bore and 84.5mm bore? I’ve NEVER seen any problem with the so called “weak” sleeves maybe by design they are weaker than the usual non Siamesed sleeve blocks? But TBH I started in 2003 and I’ve constantly heard that “weak” sleeve from US peeps but I have NEVER encountered it So yes the sleeves are weaker by design but A cracked sleeve is 99.9% of the time a tuning issue that can be avoided…
so I’m not saying that’s often the cause of a tuner who can’t tune carefully for a specific block… not saying that but kinda 😂
Awesome! Thank you for your input. I'm currently working on a B20VTEC build and you're videos have been extremely helpful. Please keep it up!
@@vision27 Ofcourse it’s a given, don’t go to high on the compression or if it’s gonna be on e85 then u good 😎 feel free to ask on anything on any of the vids man just comment will try to get back and answer soonest
