the owner decided to go B20vtec and had us do the work and improvements
In this first episode, we discuss the reason for the owners decision
the parts chosen lile the YCP gen3 dome pistons, and it will be as if Honda did offer a factory B20vtec
We will pocket port the head, work on the manifold and upgrade to ARP rod bolts as this is a daily that will see occasional track day events.
Our page is active as we post almost daily stuff we do at the shop check it at

I have this exact setup in my ek hatch right now 🔥
nice you got a torque monster!
Once you're going to the track the first mod you should always do is a baffled oil pan unless its a track ready car or motor that always comes with one from factory.
Word! Funny thing is the owner makes his own baffles as his work allows him to… he was “gonna” do it after the trackday 😂
@@SRDmotorsports oh wow lol well hope he learns his lesson haha
Yup 😂 not to be too excited before anything
This is my kind of build! Are Type R cams worth it vs GSR on this kind of build? Love this series!
@@pacoespinar97 the actual CTR cam might be better as that’s a bit bigger than GSR and ITR cams that’s not ‘00
Knew you’d like this one!!!
I’m actually still hoping for a local crv customer we can do magic on Non Vtec !
Lovely setup there bro
Good Mods to make some strong power out of the B series
@@TRDKhanbrothers thanks man! I’m trying to make this series an even better one than previous with more details and work shared
plus the owner plans to dyno this with his tuner so we definitely will have the results 😎
Ma shaa Allah, awesome. Watching til end my friend. Informative and detailed car maintenance ma shaa Allah.vKeep on sharing. Have a nice day
@@Jamraliya thank you
part 2 is out now!
We work on the manifold and head porting here

Gen3 YCP looks completely different! Have you guys measured the dome cc on these pistons? If so, what is it?
@@kmvguy barely 6cc so it’s more than the earlier gen ycp
Yessir great video can wait for next part yeah a lot off people confused went they see b16 pr3 head same head I got and some friends thinks I got a type R head 😅
@@AdinSLaboy same here! It’s why I made sure to share info pr3-3 the dash 3 means it’s third gen and yeah all typeR is third gen ek or dc2
so essentially it’s an obd2 gen head
This siR is a 2000 model so makes absolute sense right?
what’s the dome cc measurement on those? seems like gen3 YCP has much aggressive dome vs gen2/1
@@kmvguy yeah looks like it…the dome cc on these gen3 is around 4-5cc as I checked
The gen 1-2 is around 2.5-3cc only
pls do a detail install on the sandwichplate and whats a good oil line location when installing a vtec line and oil pressure line 😁
@@the063one will do… we usually tap the oil pressure sender spot for vtec oil line but this time we gonna go with the sandwich plate so will def put some detail on that 😎
What are your thoughts on a 85mm bore b20? I have a b20 block that had to be bored out 1mm but it wasn't until afterwards that I learned the sleeves are weak and it's best to have it sleeved by shops such as Golden Eagle.
@@vision27 really depends or actually not sure but I’ve seen some go 85mm on b20
But on stock 84 bore and 84.5mm bore? I’ve NEVER seen any problem with the so called “weak” sleeves maybe by design they are weaker than the usual non Siamesed sleeve blocks? But TBH I started in 2003 and
I’ve constantly heard that “weak” sleeve from US peeps but I have NEVER encountered it
So yes the sleeves are weaker by design but
A cracked sleeve is 99.9% of the time a tuning issue that can be avoided…
so I’m not saying that’s often the cause of a tuner who can’t tune carefully for a specific block… not saying that but kinda 😂
Awesome! Thank you for your input. I'm currently working on a B20VTEC build and you're videos have been extremely helpful. Please keep it up!
@@vision27 Ofcourse it’s a given, don’t go to high on the compression or if it’s gonna be on e85 then u good 😎
feel free to ask on anything on any of the vids man just comment will try to get back and answer soonest
have you built any strong non tecs?
Non vtec? Not yet
@@SRDmotorsports if you did, what would you do? I have something in mind, was wondering if you could give some guidance😁
the usual, crower has cams and even Brian crower , both are good choices
Years ago a PR builder (I think it’s PR) ran a EG hatch that’s b20 nonvtec, dude did run 9sec all motor he’s now running K
I believe he’s “ La Sata Racing “
@@SRDmotorsports was thinking a phk piston pocketed for a more aggressive cam.
Thats damn impressive for a non tec
@@saadiqeverson2161 yeah that’s good
Where to get this ycp gen3 piston?
@@ana-be5ck usually “they” just get it thru eBay there are some pretty decent sellers there
Can run fuel ron97 with itr cams?
@@ana-be5ck for us with our tune, yes but a bad tune can ruin an engine… no tune is a no no
The b20b disassembly vid is here
we are using that exact block on this project 😎
ruclips.net/video/Q-rwZ5IEYSM/видео.htmlsi=Y7ug0g-xDJzvirHC
Great video i am running same head
@@johnnyd4200 niceee and u know in the members section there’s well detailed “TypeR “ style porting… we doing the same here 😎
it was good for a 186whp b16
Maybe 190 here is doable? hmmm
@@SRDmotorsports i finally someone what finished my build. Maid 220hp to 167tq with bad motor mounts and bad dizzy
nice numbers!
@@SRDmotorsportsthank you
yeeep 😎
yes sir yes sir another great installment! i look forward to the build series and dyno for this car so i can learn from my mistakes when planning out my friend's b20v. he was going for the same oem finish but his b20v even being high comp (11.5:1) only made 178whp. got me thinking...something aint right
@@ogswagkillapbeastmode694 ooooh interesting! Hope you find some ideas on this series on something and that’s the goal!
