Hi, was nice to meet and chat to you at the start, i was the lad that normally does tourism but had to stay local this week. I ended up 7th getting slower every mile😂Glad you enjoyed it even though it is a bit of a killer!!

Which Parkrun are you doing next week

One of my least favourite parkruns. Partly because the horrific hill is gruesome but mainly running round the usually-muddy football pitch. I hate running on grass at the best of times but ankle-deep in mud & water is not for me.

Well done on your run Mark. I also use the Garmin FR255. Its a fantastic watch. I used Garmin's pace pro feature to volunteer as a pacer for the first time today and was really happy with how I did. Im not sure how you edit your videos together, but you can download your activity data files from Garmin and there are tools (some of them free) that can add things like maps, heart rate bars and pace gauges to your videos. This would be really interesting to see if you could find a way to do that kind of thing 🙂 hope you're doing good.

Ran Chadderton myself this morning after heading to Heaton Park only to find Tough Mudder taking place. A quick drive across to Chadderton to run there for the first time. A really nice park but far too many sharp turns especially in The Rose Garden section that has no rose bushes. Nice to see a fleeting glimpse of myself at the start. Well done on your run and time mate 🏃‍♂👍

Thank you to everyone for your kind words and concern, I am fine. I do not want anyone to worry, it happens from time to time. At the time, I was at the start line when getting overwhelmed and I thought let’s keep it together until the finish line. The guy next to me was great. I’m sorry for not giving my usual message back, I am not ignoring anyone or ghosting people on purpose, just needed time to reflect. Let’s keep going and I will run a smaller event next week. I would like to thank everyone for watching.

I love your videos. The fact you where able to run through that level of anxiety shows immense mental courage. I hope that you pushing yourself through today, pushes your anxiety away a little further long term. I hope your feeling better now.

Hey Mark, I haven't had chance to watch the video through yet (but I will) as I've been preparing to run the Cheshire 10 miler today, but I saw what you wrote and wanted to check in. Sorry to hear your anxiety is causing problems. Hopefully you can find your way past it soon mate. Personally, every time ive met you ive been really grateful of our chats, so i genuinely hope you feel better soon. Your videos helped me to build up my confidence in running parkruns when I was new, so in my mind, you are more than entitled to take whatever you need. Hope you're feeling better soon and keep up the amazing running as always.

Thanks for uploading. I enjoy watching your runs. They’re a great way of getting an insight of a course. Which parkrun is your favourite to run in the north west? I did my first run at Conkers near Ashby the other week (while visiting family) and loved it. The funny thing is a live in the North West and never gone a local one! 😂

done this park run twice so far and love it this is the 2nd video the lady doing the first timers briefing has been on she was on the Nicola Runs the other year

Great run! Courses with three or more laps aren't much fun, as they tend to have problems with congestion, are repetitive, and people invariably forget how many laps they've done (this is an absolute nightmare as an RD). Three laps is about my limit, and even that is probably one too many. My local is just over two laps and you're only over-taking people in the last few minutes (as a 17s-18s runner).

Beautiful green park run. Looks lovely and flat. I'm not a fan of those turn-around bit, though. How far over the 5k was it in the end? Even 0.05 km can make a difference when you're going for a PB.

Nice to see Warrington, I've run this one 4 times. An old favourite. I feel it's a nice flat course but I reckon slightly over 5k. How many miles (or km, whatever you measure in) do you run a week? I did Chadderton Hall today, that was definitely well over 5k! Well done anyway Mark, you're a top guy, mate, keep doing what you're doing!

Well done Mark! I have run Warrington before and enjoyed the course but it was missing a convenient cafe which was a real shame. I don't know if that has changed since. I aimed to try and get round Heaton in sub 30 for the first time in months today thanks to injury, but I actually ended up with a 40 second Heaton PB in 27:40. I couldn't quite believe it.

Wow, what a great looking course! Might have to put this one on the todo list.

Well done Mark! I agree, the Great Manchester Run tops are great this year. They're a nice design and very comfortable for running whereas last years were a bit heavy and could rub a bit. Much prefer this years.

Great time, Mark. Bolton is a really tough one with that hill! I went to Hyde today which was also a tough undulating run. Bolton is harder though!
