Bolton's 600th Parkrun 25/05/2024

- I ran Bolton's 600th Parkrun special event. I managed to run it in 21:46 and finished 12th. There was 349 runners and 39 volunteers, which is great.
The weather was fantastic and I met a few friends from Heaton Parkrun and colleagues from work.
The people in Bolton have a unique personality all their own.
Bolton's Cruella Da Hill never disappoints. This event is one of the more difficult courses on par with Lyme Parkrun and Witton Parkrun. I ended up cheering on a younger runner towards to end.
Feeling ready for tomorrow's Manchester Half Marathon 2024. I'll keep you all updated. I also went to the gym to cool down in the pool and sauna.
I hope everyone enjoy Pride weekend too. I cycled past and took a glance on the way home.
Update:
Last week I complained about a volunteer heckling me, they are currently investigating and they apologised. Then, I apologised just in case if I overreacted or misread a cue.
Great time, Mark. Bolton is a really tough one with that hill! I went to Hyde today which was also a tough undulating run. Bolton is harder though!
Thanks Mark, I've just got back into running Parkruns since moving to Manchester and I've watched a whole bunch of your videos. Really useful to see which courses are worth visiting. Great content. Keep it up! :)
Thank you, this means a lot. It is handy as a visual guide (it’s too bad I could not show you the route on the track) sometimes being told the route bad seeing the atmosphere is great.

Looks tough - glad I was only running it on the treadmill! Good running!
Give it time, it took a lot of practice during the pandemic to run up the hill like that.

Based in Yorkshire but watched your videos when on the treadmill and checking out a course before attending over your way so was like spotting a celebrity this morning lol. Been to loads of events, races etc but mate, you're running is top notch at the minute, I don't think I've any advice you need other than keep it up and keep enjoying it 👍👍

Haven't had chance to watch the video yet (but I will in a bit). Just wanted to wish you good luck for tomorrow. We are running it too to raise money for charity. Ill be happy just to get to end after my injury problems this year.
