The 3 questions that Terrify Mormon Leaders.
Respectfully you have a deep hurt 😢 so sorry your so deeply offended.
???
It’s the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Please use the proper Name.
Hi Megan...I keep missing your lives, but am happy to be able to listen after the fact. Great announcement. You have some great ideas. Grateful for you. 🙏
The Book that was written by a former Utah Mormon Bishop was the inspiration i needed as a member an RM to know that what he revealed in this book was true. It is called " Out of the Bishops closet you can order it from Barnes & Noble book store here in Utah. I encourage everyone to read it, pray about as i have done ( I accept it as truth discovered in the church archives that he revealed to the public. As a result this Bishop was excommunicated for revealing the truth.
I'm not a lawyer, but I know the scriptures. I figured this out in the 80's. According to Section 132, marriage is not the only covenant which requires a sealing: D&C 132:7 And verily I say unto you, that the conditions of this law are these: All covenants, contracts, bonds, obligations, oaths, vows, performances, connections, associations, or expectations, that are not made and entered into and sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, ... are of no efficacy, virtue, or force in and after the resurrection from the dead; for all contracts that are not made unto this end have an end when men are dead.
I'll show you the path. It's simple. It's easy. Just apply the same definition of chastity for same-sex couples to be the same as for hetero couples. Where in the Gospel is there such a double-standard?
listening to this made me remember the movie heretic. that movie made me cry, it make sense to me. mr reed is right religion is about control and what crime he is doing is an exaggeration of what religion crime is doing to us woman. it took our ability to have freedom on our own body and choices. it was so symbolic for me to see the woman in cages. 😢
So you had your name removed so the church would leave you alone. Seems more like you can’t leave the church alone.
I will not stop talking about my experiences because I believe people need to know the truth.
Ridiculous arguments Did the whole world forget about Sodom and Gomorrah?
Never happen
Yes, they do proxy for sealings. Everything that they do in the temple can be done for someone that is dead…. That is what they strive for. I find it ironic that someone said that they don’t do partial families when you wanted to get sealed to your children….they say “Families CAN be together forever.” For a reason. There are a lot of prerequisites to get that.
The idea presented here goes against GOD BURNING SODAM AND GOMORAH :) I think God expressed his opinion on that day regarding same sex relationships.
Sodom and Gomorrah was about general sexual wickedness not not just same-sex relationships
rewatch crew.
Same sex marriage is a great thing.
I've dealt with a lot of addicts...she is on meds 4sure! Slurred words and blending, fast talk. It's like they are cartwheeling their thoughts into verbal bs.
This channel is deceptive...same old exmo drivel seeking to be popular and make some bucks. The church can do no good in your eyes...very sad.
oh dear, you seem to be a lazy learner. Crosses were used by Utah LDS and publications in the 1800s. Yes, it later was deemphasized for several reasobs and some now are using it again.
I grew up Catholic, but most of my neighbors were Mormon. One weekend we stayed with neighbors while my parents were out of town, and our parents let us go to their "church" with them. During the Sunday school part, I went with the daughters. In the class they seemed to know I was coming ahead of time because they made Mormonism sound a lot like Catholism.
This is CLICKBAIT and 100% untrue. Theres no factual basis for any of this. The policies arent more pro LGBTQ they are simply gentler and more welcoming. In the last GC the divine nature of gender was again reaffirmed.
What do you think about Oaks' comment about temporary commandments? Do you think he is preparing the way for changes?
@Third_Verse i think that's a desperate reach and if that's what you're relying on there little to no basis. You'll need more than one vague open ended general statement to even open a discussion. What part of that makes you think its enough to override The Family: a Proclamation to the World (which was just stated in conference to be doctrine)? Old Testament commandments would apply to this. Possible living of the law of Consecration would apply to this. Women holding the Priesthood and Gay marriage sound like confirmation bias.
But the law of consecration is in effect if you’ve been through the temple…
@Third_Verse covenanting to live and actually living are two different things. Polygamy would also be another example. We are not actually living the law of Consecration at this time. We are living the Law of Tithing.
There was a recent change to the LDS handbook regarding deceased women: " A deceased woman may be sealed to all men to whom she was legally married during her life" (38.4.1.8)
Thank you. Watching from Alaska. 🤔
Just curious!! Why, since you are no longer LDS, do you still include yourself with using "we" " our", etc. when speaking about the church?
I am trying not to do that, but years of indoctrination make it hard. I'm working on it !
@Third_Verse thanks for your reply Megan. It wasn't meant to be critical, I was a little confused

What a cool journey out of a high demand religion. I was first open to deconstructing the Joseph Smith translation of the Bible. I didn't know much about it and after studying everything I could find, I saw a joke it was. Oddly, the final straw was the B of M, but more so the witnesses. I loved and studied the B of M. But I was unaware of the anachnonisms and other problems. The plate witnesses, once I understood who and what their "witness really was," I let go of what dominated my life for 40 years. So glad to be out. That was 20 years ago.
Does anybody else see this woman as the perfect example of you can leave the church but you can’t leave the church alone lol so much emotion and ill logical argument. Cute. So cute.
"you can leave the church, but you cant leave it alone." Says the person as part of a church with 70,000 people out knocking on peoples doors. "Every member a missionary". How about you leave people alone? Some people were abused in the church or had horrible experiences and your answer is to tell them to just be quiet about it?
@huntnusa659 do you not believe that we are to wear out our lives exposing the hidden things of darkness? I do. I notice that you didn't address the actual INFORMATION shared. Just regurgitating the same old excuse not to look into it deeper. Besides, the lds church today is NOT the church Joseph restored, it's Brigham Young's church and is not the same. But you'd really have to want to know the truth to go down that rabbithole... if you decide to one day, start with The Joseph Smith Papers Project.
@@JustinPratt1 how about you simply just say no? As if missionaries are a problem according to Christ lol for such a small church it sure has caused a big problem for you in your heart :-) come on little guy. You can do better.
I will never be silent about the abuse I and my children endured at the hands of the church and its culture.
She says the church is not very forthcoming with their finances. But doesn’t give specific examples. She just gives some generalities and then expects you to accept her claim. Then she talks about how they aren’t giving. But they are the most giving Christian organization in the United States of America. And I believe the world. So for being such a small group of only 5 million active members, they sure give a hell of a lot of money. More than any other. So maybe take your criticism Somewhere else. Maybe criticize the second or third or fourth or fifth largest donator. But going after the organization that donates more money per active member than any other organization in the United States doesn’t make a lot of sense. This is just like a typical female. Lots of emotional claims. Very little logic. Very little fact.just a broken heart and an ax to grind
@@huntnusa659 go see the fine they got for tax issues just last year and the reason the church spokesman gave himself- they didn’t want the members to know how much money they had because they might stop paying tithing. Go read the SEC report that the church signed off and ageed to before their fine that shows you exactly why they were charged.
@@CandlewickLibrary she says the church was not very forthcoming. They paid the fine of $1 million. They changed the books to be completely open and honest and comply with the law. They still donate more money towards humanitarian causes than any other church. I am aware of in the United States and possibly in the world. so again what’s your problem? Nitpicking And nagging? they still work for free in the majority of the church. They still are the only church with 12 apostles. They still are completely open and transparent with their finances. They run their finances better than most Christian churches ever have. They donate more money. And you gripe and moan about what?
God burned Sodom and Gomorrah. I guarantee the LDS church is not considering anything close to what you were talking about. They would lose the rest of the members. Including Jesus Christ and God themselves would leave the church. I’m sorry. You’re just wrong on this one.
Jesus left the LDS church awhile ago. If it was not the polygamy, or threatening people with a knife at the pulpit if they left, or them investing church funds into lockheed martin or phillip morris, or building big opulent buildings instead of taking care of the poor, or lying about stories from the pulpit.
They (God and Jesus) already did, back in 1835ish time frame), see D&C 84 and 124 to start with. They are no longer with the church any more than any other Christian church that has good people in it, trying to live God lives. Nothing special about it anymore, hasn't been for over 100 years.
@@Kristy_not_Kristine nothing special about it lol it’s origin. Story alone is special. There are plenty of Christians trying to live good lives. I think we can agree on that. Other Christian churches pay the clergy. Other Christian churches don’t have 12 apostles. Other Christian churches ccdon’t get modern revelation. Other Christian churches don’t have a prophet. Other Christian churches don’t have an explanation for what happens after death, except for sitting on a cloud and playing on a harp. the Mormons are extremely different. And extremely special and unique in their viewpoint. Which are vastly superior to other Christian beliefs in my opinion. Unless you can change that.
I have been thinking about intuition and discernment, and maybe even premonitions, and how they play into relationships with manipulative and controlling people. Maybe this is already part of the syllabus, but just a contribution of my thoughts.
Yes we will discuss intuition for sure!
I had to laugh (but not really) about the procedure for leaving a high-control organization is to fill out a form, get it notarized, then have a lawyer write a carefully-written letter asking that no further contact should be made. I am so sorry that this is the way it is, but it is helpful to see things as they really are. Thanks again for all your content. There are so many useful examples, stories, references, and recommendations.
Technically, I am still a member, although for the last 55 years, have never attended. For me, it doesn’t matter, even though active as a youth and young man. The members may have been cautioned to come to my house as I don’t see them anymore?
Why would Lori want to represent herself?
So she can be in control and on display!

I heard it wasn't the lds church that changed the icons on gmaps, but actually Google that changed them.
Megan, the Mormon church is a NON-Christian religion. Why? Because Mormons worship a totally different God, Jesus & the Holy Spirit than Christians religions do. Why not say that in your podcasts?
But the worship Jesus Christ =Christian.
Mormons believe they worship God the Father, His son Jesus Christ and are led by the Holy spirit. As of mid-2023, there are more than 47,000 Christian denominations in the world. The number of denominations is growing, and is predicted to reach 49,000 by 2025 and 64,000 by 2050. A Christian denomination is a religious organization that unifies local congregations into a single legal and administrative body. Members of a denomination share similar beliefs, worship practices, and work together to preserve and develop shared enterprises. Denominations vary in size, from millions of members to fewer than 100. They also differ in governance, worship, politics, and other ways. For example, some denominations are democratic, while others are authoritarian. Some churches have ceremonial worship, while others have ecstatic or mostly silent worship. Not all religions who claim to be Christian believe the same.
I do refer to the LDS versions of god and Jesus as Mormon god and Mormon Jesus because they are different than other denominations. But any denomination that worships Jesus can call themselves Christian. 🤷🏼♀️
To be honest, just about all different Christ themed religions worship different versions of Jesus. They all have different views of scripture and how christ would have a church. Also, can you tell me where in the Bible Christ said to worship him? If christianity is true, I am willing to bet Christ will not care what dumb little interpretation you believe or who is right about the trinity, etc. All he will care about is if you were kind to others, if you helped the poor, it you loved your neighbor, if you followed him.
I too was under that impression. The Bible is the ONLY book I get my information from. All those Mormon books that were written were not from God, and I would never abide by other scripture that was not written when Jesus was walking on earth, thereafter by His disciples, never.
Megan, have you done a deep dive on Lori's father, Barry? If so, please let me know which video it is. My hunch is that Barry is actually the head [narcissist, psychopath, take your pick], his wife is the enabler, and Lori is the Golden child. Does Barry do interviews? It would be so interesting to see you in conversation with him.
Nope. I agree with your assessment but I will not be doing any deep dives publicly. I don’t speak to Barry and I don’t speak about Barry except when asked a direct question that has an answer I can legally verify either through my own personal experience or through documentation.
@@Third_Verse You just said it all right there, thanks for that. I think all those ppl perseverating on Lori would get a lot more insights if they start getting more curious about Barry.
Dallin H. Oaks Following Christ October 2024 The Lord’s commandments are of two types: permanent, like the doctrine of Christ, and temporary. Some permanent commandments have taken considerable time to be generally observed. Recent examples of reemphases have been needed because of current circumstances faced by Latter-day Saints or the Church. These include the proclamation on the family, issued by President Gordon B. Hinckley a generation ago. The Proclamation of the Family will NEVER change. The church would lose its most faithful members. The Salt Lake Tribune is the worst place to information about the church. They are so anti and apostate. Their purpose to mock and lead away faithful members.
I grew up in the church during the 80s, 90s and early 00s and never, ever not even once I've heard the leaders teaching that there are "types" of commandments. It amazes me how the members believe in EVERYTHING the leaders say, even when they contradict what has been said in the past. The living leaders keep changing the narrative on everything and members just go along and follow everything they say. That's so extremely dangerous...
@ I’ve been a member since 1966. It’s alway to me been obvious that there are eternal truths and then the way the Brethren apply them can be temporary. Polygamy, the Law of Concentration, blacks in the Priesthood, not dating until 16, no beards, 3 hour block church, mothers not working, are all examples of commandments that have been temporary and changed. The Law of Concentration is an eternal law however it is not in use at this time because it isn’t necessary. Taking the Sacrament at home during COVID was also a temporary commandment that also was taken away when the need was over. 😊😊😊😊
I believe you’re talking about the law of Consecration, and it is still in effect if you have been through the temple and made that promise there.
This talk is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. It is literally Dallin Oaks setting up the church for big changes in doctrine. One change of which I believe is their stance on same-sex marriage.
@@Third_Verse you do make a covenant in the temple for time, abilities and all that you own, however no one is “giving all that you own” to the church because the law of tithing is in effect. The pioneers were asked to live the law of consecration and had to give all their crops to the Bishop’s storehouse and then it was divided equally. Each family was given a parcel of land for specific for their needs. Once the Salt Lake valley was established the law of consecration was lifted and the law of tithing came back.
I think the church will have same-sex temple sealings within the next 50 years. I think they will have bishops performing civil same sex weddings within 20 years. Modern revelation and prophets mean they can change anything anytime. I think they’ll use the fact that Joseph Smith was sealed to other men to justify expanding the ordinance.
So now God is OK with same sex marriage. What is next ???? with the god that never changes????
God was always OK with same sex marriage. The know-it-all's who run the church never bothered to ask and receive revelation, thinking they know everything.
Look who is talking
❤
I’m so Excited about your e-course. You are so kind and amazing
Thank you. Megan has involed ito a great YT creator. 1. Mormons are less than 0.1% to up to 0.2% of the World, active and affiliated, respectively. 2. Why exist if LSD is like Christianity? a. LSD claims to be the only true faith. b. Is God ignoring and excluding 99% of the world? c. It's sure taking a long time, after 200 yrs. d. Majority of the World are moral and caring. 3. It seems LSD are not a member of world and national interfaith orgs. a. This is the same for Evangelism non-denominational Christian churches. Each church has its own doctrine. 4. Ironically, Evangelism and LDS are extremely similar. Their way is the only way. Evangelism believe LDS is heresay. 5. Most mainstream Christian denominations, Judism, and Islam proclaim their way is better and easier; however, it's not the only way. a. They all worship/acknowledge the same God. b. Abraham is the forefather of all.
You may want to investigate….. maybe relating to the new cross question. I heard the Mormon & some evangelical religions are uniting. They are joint on children movies & shows. The name is under ANGEL STUDIO, I know for sure ANGEL.
Talking about crosses iconology, I am old enough to remember when it was criticized, discouraged, and talked against wearing a cross or anything close to it. My non member, never even close to living near Utah Mother thought she was doing such a heart felt thing in offering my brother a gold, christian centered ring that my childless Uncle had. My brother turned it down. He regrets this hurtful move from 40 years ago. My mother gave me a cross necklace from my childless Aunt but I just tucked it away as to not hurt her, but she never saw me wear it. Now the church OK's the cross and other religious jewelry. I am angry at myself for not just wearing the jewelry to honor my childless Aunt and my brother our Uncle while they were all alive.
@boysrus61 It is questionable why organizations criticize, sometimes damn harmless practices of individuals and organizations. I'm all for damning harmful practices; however, look within first. You won't seem hypocritical. Question: Are temple garments comfortable, dresses more comfortable than pants, men always wearing white shirts good for the psyche?
@boysrus61 Agreed. Is it construtive, sometimes damn harmless practices of others? Of course, call out harmful practices; however, look within first. Are temple garments, dresses, and men always wearing white shirts more comfortable and good for the psyche? Clothing has evolved, not just in styles. I can't wear boxers because I get headaches from a condition down there. Briefs don't provide warmth in cold weather. Solution: boxer briefs were first marketed forty years ago. Because of added polyester, they cling to the legs.
They are always changing the narrative! Same thing is happening now with tatoos and piercings. It's ridiculous!
I’m really sorry that the church hurt you like that. It’s not your fault. Please don’t blame yourself. You were trying to do what you thought was right at the time. The church confuses people about what’s right and wrong. I hope you can be at peace yourself because you didn’t know then what you know now.
Exactly! We’ve been told that we are going to be different that we don’t celebrate ‘his’ death.
Hey Beautiful Megan- Looking fab in emerald green. Thanks for all your hard work x
