I find elephant garlic a lot of fun to grow. I've found them easier than actual garlic. The flower heads are fantastic too

Some nice big elephant garlic cloves there! I'm loving increasing my stock of elephant garlic each year and being able to share them with others. If I eventually get enough I might only do elephant garlic... 😮

When the allotment is damp, cold, and absolutely covered in leaves. October, November, and December are the worst. Gets a bit better in January, starts getting tidier in anticipation for spring and we start putting things in motion

Still plenty to sow only December I don't sow chillies in January

Enjoyed watching you plant the garlic, Nik. Can’t get over how much of it you grow. I didn’t realise elephant garlic was a leek really or that it didn’t get rust. Interesting that it’s immune as leeks can get rust can’t they? Those scapes from the summer and your dahlias ❤️

Fantastic educational video Nik. I recently had a tour of a local vineyard and they use sheep's fleece as a mulch around the grapevine, its good to protect the roots from the cold but also slugs hate it die to the lanolin that's in the fleece. Seemingly sheep farmers now-a-days in the UK struggle get anything for the fleeces so it might be a cheap resource if you can source from a local farmer. Never tried it myself but something I'm looking into.

We get the white Cabbage Moth here! They destroy all brassicas FAST without covering!
