You are such a kind human and I'm so glad that I found your channel. You have some great friends and a great partner.
I had three c-sections and they can be hard to recover from. My first and third were rough...the middle one was a breeze. Go figure!
I love how grateful you are and your positive attitude. God bless you and your family!

It's it funny how each birth is so different, it's so hard when you're in so much pain and you have a tiny baby dependent on you. But you have to look at the positive I think. I always look for the silver linning! But thanks for your kind words! They are all amazing! It's wonderful being surrounded by my tribe of poeple! Takes a village after all

Allie and Tricia are absolute stars 🤩!! And no wonder the plot got a bit out of hand with the year you've had - I have none of those reasons and mine still went wild!! It was lovely to see such a friends & family affair on the plot. It is such an awesome community 🥰❤

Oh How lovely of them to come out and help you Nik! I just subbed to them.
Bless you Nik. Sounds like you been through it!
I had a similar experience and ended up with an emergency c section. We were miles from our new house and hubby doesn't know how to drive so it was hard as he also had to look after our late fur daughter dog at the time.
Was hard to listen to your birth story as it brought back memories. Don't feel bad for needing help after what you went through and both of your healths are important rn and you are healing properly. Did you have staples on the outer incision and then dissolvable ones in the other layers? I swear i was sown up by a butcher! lol It was a rush though as my agency nurse went AWOL when our baby's heart stopped the second time. All a bit of a mess. Glad to hear everything is good with Andrew and you are slowly recovering. Weight loss comes in time as you need to heal first.
Do you have a stool you can rest on in the kitchen when it comes to canning season?
I love a good roast dinner and love making them. I think my favourite is roast potatoes and proper gravy. My Nan taught me how to make gravy and I think it took me about 10 years to master it to her level and then just been perfecting it since. My Dad likes the carvery but i'm not too keen as the one by him the veg is a bit over cooked, gravy is basic and the toilets are always nasty but he likes it. He's about an hour away from us and has a small kitchen/ living room. I don't think I have ever cooked there but he would rather go to the carvery nowadays. He hasn't come to us since 2022 and he had his stroke. He is ok to drive but I think it has knocked his confidence. He isn't into gardening but he does like me bringing him some fresh veg. Reminds me to bring him some chicken gravy the next time I visit him. I like make lots of veg and meat stocks that I use in the gravy. Anyway, enough about gravy and food! lol
Hope you are ok. If you need help, maybe you can organise a day at the plot where a few people come up to help? I'm in SW London. Not sure how far away that it from you? Hubby wants us to go to Oxford for the day and then go and see his aunt in Cirencester during the school holidays.
Take care and have a great weekend!

I know what you mean. It a trauma, I honestly still get so overwhelmed with what happened. I hope the baby was ok?
Yes I feel the same with my section, I remember when the midwife come to remove my dressing and my sister told me about the staples and I started to shake and almost passed out. I'm not good with blood on myself, but I didn't have any staples! I did end up splitting it 2 times so it don't look the best lol
At the moment we are getting a new kitchen done so we don't even have an oven on there at the moment! 😅😅😅
Gravy is a lot harder that people give it credit for, I love a gravy mine are very light but I love them! I love having the familey involved. My little sister is the same she loved the veg tho
I'm east London, so we are on opersite sides! But not that far really! That's just such a sweet offer! I would love to do that one day! He would be epic to see the whole community come together!
Do you ever go to the gardening conventions like the one in Morvern?

    • @AnyKeyLady

@@ThatBritishHomestead Yes it all takes time and i would suggest to reach out to the GP or midwife team if you do feel like that a lot. The garden and kitchen can be a distraction but can also mask some stuff. You know how you feel but waiting lists can be long!
Yes our KS2 child is ok now thanks, mainly due to private healthcare we had to pay for cranial osteopathy as they got stuck in the canal as their umbilical cord was wrapped around them twice. They ended up with torticollis and had trouble feeding, sleeping, etc. They were worried about certain measurements and hearing at birth but they have averaged out by the time they got to school. You wouldn't know looking at them now what they went through. They were pretty much fixed, torticollis wise, by the time we had the first appointment at the NHS hospital.
3 months after their birth i had to have emergency CIN3 cervical treatment and other stuff. I already had childhood PTSD and anxiety. I wasn't really comfortable travelling to C London, let alone the job. By the time i went back to work i had post natal depression. I think the Westminster attacks increased my anxiety and now i have a lot of social anxiety. Our garden is my safe space.
Never been to Malvern. I used to go to expeditions like the good house keeping, etc. I used to travel a lot more when i was younger and single, Australia, US, Egypt, etc. I used to take the train and then drive every holiday and weekend when my sister had her kids in the Netherlands. Her eldest, my nephew, still has a clear English/ slight Dutch accent, my niece, not so. She was more shy at speaking English and preferred Dutch. I did learn to speak and write a lot of Dutch for her and her Dutch grandparents and then forgot my French as part of my degree! lol I can hardly speak Dutch now as forgotten most of it but can probably still understand some stuff.
Did you know it was faster to drive to the Netherlands than NW Wales? Not sure what it's like now with the ferries and border controls
I got long covid now, so can't drive too far now but can come and help if not too far from the M25. It would be nice for a community event.
What are you doing as a setup cooking wise atm? Are you doing it yourself or have people coming in? If you have power at the plot and they allow gas bbq's, you can do the canning there or do you think it will be finished come tomato canning time?
