He will be gone this weekend. I've informed bob he needs to sort it... he isn't happy. He really would rather not involve him but hay needs must and we have not registered them! There are 4 cocrkls in total! They are very lovely birds and are so loveing but that till they become manly men and then they are a pain. I love the sound they make! I wish we could keep them!

Gosh Andrew is getting so big now ❤. Took me ages to convince Gerald watering the soil is better but since I do most of it I do it right 😂😂. Fab broccoli and harvests Nik and Jaz 👍👍. 😂 we have had rain in the front yard and heatwave in the back yard. Have a super week and stay safe, Ali ☁️🌞🇨🇦

Soap liquid, milk. Poor Andy couldn't see 😂 he looks like he's escaped baby jail with his hat on! So cute
I use the grazers g3 for aphids on peppers etc and it does ok, I just wash everything and ice bath it for a few hours before I eat it 😍

Them hats where such a good buy we got a pack of like 20 hats! All different colours, I just have them everywhere! Poor Andy has a raw deal! Bless him. He goes to sleep within 20-30 mins when I get to the allotment so he is fine! Bless him he loves being in the air.
He is a happy chappy.. I know a lot of stuff just need to jog me memory... funny as I remember all of this but can't remember yesterday

    Hey Nik!
Hubby does the watering in the garden as a part of his "jobs" in the garden. It has been a struggle but he is starting to get it a bit more. (I keep sending him links to videos about it! lol)
Not heard about adding dish soap (Do you mean fairy liquid?). What is the science around that? Is it the bubbles or the soap itself?
Nice seeing little Andrew popping his head out now, so cute! How are you doing?
Yes I was explaining what vine ripen means in the shops. They are still green when picked but sprayed. If you leave the "cork" on when you pick it they last longer too. I always turn my tomatoes bottom side up as that is where they ripen first. I weigh them before putting them in the fridge. When the fridge it full the least ripened ones, I put on the breakfast bar.
We are so late this year, we are not at this stage. My first canning (looking at photos from last year) was 9th Aug! By then we had so much overflow, from making meals! Just looked at 2022 - 30th July! I used to start the season with Autumn Chutney. We still have some from last year, so not making as much of it this year. Just focusing on getting lucky with extra plain canning this year!
Yes Hubby does beds one day and containers the next day. We have two big Butts (And I cannot lie! Sorry not sorry lol) and they can generally last a week or two, depending on the weather. I am looking out for a long rectangle narrow cold water tank to extend the run off as we have space behind our hedge against the fence. We have an overflow connector that runs back to the drain from an old hose.
Jasmine is great at gardening! Love how she gets stuck in! Ours is getting more into it. They were really into the leveling off of the lawn after the restructure and reusing the sandpit on the veggie side. The school had a print off science/ nature challenges and it was great tackling the old landscaped lawn section that used to have bushes as a mature garden space. We get them to sow stuff and learn not to slam dunk the sunflowers but yes I get it. I used to love Justin but find he has lost his way since he had the external streaming site. There is a lot of other background stuff that I learnt about his ethics that I don't agree with, yet he promotes. Each to their own though. Do you watch Mary's Nest or The seasonal Homestead? What I love about getting the kids involved is them knowing how the food is grown. We also look at stuff bought from the supermarket and where it has come from. Where things like bananas, pineapples, coconut and cocoa come from and why palm oil is not great. Supermarket industry is very harsh when you look into the details.
    c-l-osh-ez - cloches or covers!
Was saying to Danny how inspired I have been motivationally this year, finding new people on YT more local to me and in the yt community space. The slow seasons so far and finishing a lot of the structural renewal of the layout, has meant I can plant more this autumn, winter and spring now I don't have to worry about messing with beds.
Also going to sow/plant garlic in Feb now.
Yes, also sowing Early Durham, Red Drumhead, Broccoli - purple Rudolph and Tundra. In the front garden will be Savoy. They will be replacing the tomato rows, so can only fit 3 per row, so probably some spare plants. Also doing Kohlrabi (3 types)i, Chinese cabbage and pak choi white stem. I'm a bit late on some that didn't directly germinate like swede. Doing them in trays like Allie now! lol Will also mean that we can size up and cut the big garden mesh we bought last year! lol Was too late by the time the trellis was ready but will good to get the covers on finally and re use the rest on the sprout bed instead of the poundland nets.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing your updates and if I am doing something wrong with the cabbages and new stuff! lol
    Take care Nik and family!

So the washing up liquid, or how I say it fairy up liquid, it allows the water to penetrate the soil partials. It not amazing to do too much tho.
We are doing well thanks still going along! Andy is almost 6 months now! Where has the time gone?!?
Completely agreee I feel like I was getting so much more tomatoes. I've popped mine in the freezer as I like to do a long long canning session with them not just little bits and bobs. I'll wait till jasmine goes back to school and then can them up! Give me a little more time to collect them. Normally I can every 2 days as I have too much to keep up with
I watch the seasonal homestead, love it and farmhouse on bowe love that too, more than farmers! I watch so many USA RUclipsrs lol 😅
I completely agree with you, however he is very very good with the kids. That's what attracted us to the channel, although like you we stopped watching! For simpler reasons I do love how he is with the kids tho!
