It's so good that you use the produce that you harvest in so many ways. Well done 👏

Did a rotation of the indoor basil yesterday. We had home grown Chinese cabbage for the first time tonight. Our child thought tasted like kale (as leafy and hoping to harvest pak choi, spinach chard and baby spinach, which they have forgotten about as it bolts a lot). Hubby put the kettle on until i reminded him what it was. We have things but due to space we wait for a good meal option to have some. Going to eek what we can from the garden before heading to the persevered stuff. One of my tasks is to get out all of the canned stuff, check them and put back in date order. I also want to do a final weigh in of our frozen veg from the garden. Sandpit bed with yellow wonder wax beans came in clutch this year.

Andrew is so quiet 🤫 but I’m sure like all moms you’ll say he has his moments. The allotment has been very plentiful for you Nik but it’s all down to your constant hard work. Have an amazing week, Ali 🌞🥶🇨🇦

Some lovely beetroot there too. Great work clearing that bed and covering with cardboard.
My artichokes are dying back now. I’m so sad the dwarf ones don’t flower.
I’m really looking forward to seeing what you do with the marshmallow plant, in terms of how it’d harvested.
Great harvesting of the cauliflower Jasmine. Very beautiful
Was that Jasmine’s school choir singing a harvest song? So cute!

Great tour Nik. That reminds me i need to try our pickled nasturtiums. Yes not going to complain about it being so cloudy for the past 10 days..
Looking forward to seeing the marshmallow video, if you are going to do one of course?
We have beaten last years harvest of 40kgs of tomatoes but we did plant more this year. However, with the crappy weather and getting blight/ attacked by snails we lost a lot too. The last of our green tomatoes have ripened so going to update my spreadsheet to get a finally tally. We are leaving on the tomatoes out front for the snails to finish off.
Love that pink cauliflower! I want to grow everything but just don't have the space in the garden. We got the cabbages and broccoli in. Just starting to harvest some of the Chinese cabbage in the soon to be garlic rows. I'm loving growing things in the new sandpit bed.
Will you be doing a branston pickle video too? None of ours germinated in the end, so would watch in envy and plan better for next year.
Oh cool new plot for Jasmine. Will be interesting to see what she picks for her gardening space.
Our sprout bed has been pants this year, mainly due to the lack of sun but rats making tunnels earlier in the year so we have stumpy ones about 1-2ft tall. I saw the rat again about 2.30pm, merrily skipping across our patio. It's not a big fully grown one and not a baby, body about 15 -20cm long. Not sure what to do.
Ahh bless loved the Jasmine section of the tour! Is that her singing in the background in the music, throughout the video? We did good on the bird poo offering/ thornless raspberries this year. Moved the pot nearer to the house to prune and re pot into a bigger glazed terracotta pot. It's just had it's second year in a 20 cm pot, growing on one side of the pot. I had figured out what type it is now so can prune repot it ok.
Hope you are having a good week back at school. Did you get to see any fireworks? They were Marley the ghost from Scrooge. x
P.s. Just found out our kid has been stream sniping whilst playing bedrock and got banned for 3 days from a SMP on Monday. I knew my instincts were right to check. Tbh, i think they just wanted to be on a yt video as they record themselves playing on the pc with the tablet recording for VO. Will be having a chat tomorrow after school and choir club. Is 2 days ban from devices too harsh do you think for their first time doing something they shouldn't on the internet? I am proper fuming rn but need to approach it calmly and find out what happened. They literally pinky promised me tonight as i was talking to them about internet safety and how to behave online. It was my fault though as they were using my old office pc to play minecraft but it has no restrictions on the yt in the browser. I enabled it so they could listen to/ practise music/ karaoke for choir, so fuming with myself too. It's trying to find that balance between trust and helicopter parenting. Going to ask the school for the slides they used for internet safety week. We do teach them about internet safety but want to know more about the week they spent teaching them and what topics were covered so we know what gaps to fill. Don't be too harsh on me either pls as still learning myself. I got my nokia mobile when i was 17 and could pay for it myself. x

I have to say that I have never seen snails attack tomatoes till this year!!!
I love how organised you are I wish I was that organised too!
I will 100% do a how to make branstan and how to use marshmallow video. Not sure when! I have to also make beans and pickeled beets. Jars have been hard to get hold of atm!
Yes that's jasmine singing I thought it was so so cute. It was in the harvest celebration they do every year!
We did see the fireworks. We sit over the allotment every year with a hot chocolate and homemade cookies! And watch the massive display.
I think it's the job for kids to push the boundaries, and it's our job to ensure they do it safely. Tbh I don't think you can ever be to harsh with internet. We are far harsher jasmine has 60mins of limited access a week. She can call her cousins and play one game. She has unlimited access to playing outside joining us in what we do, reading, listening to audio books. Bob soft and lets her have a little tv after she has done all her jobs at night in the winter. I am very anti screen time so will take it away 1st thing. I didn't grow up with screens we didn't watch tv and didn't have the internet. As someone that worked with kids I've seen them expelled and even have criminal charges put on kids miss using the internet not to comment on what others can do. It's scary! I don't think your hash you have to protect your babies from themselves!
