Keep in mind, Saijans did not existed in Dragon Ball or Namekeans, Goku was a full on earthling there is no Saijan biology here, *but the cannon says,* nope that idea was not existant in the minds of the writers at the time, they where writing a story about an earthling, DBZ Redcon it, but these fights are not DBZ, Vegeta(The Prince the Planet and the King) does not exist in Dragon Ball, so alien biology does not play any part here, is all real skill and personal attributes from the characters own efforts and abilities.

if picollo had merged back with kami sama and become the original picollo, he would surely have been able to kill any form of freezer at that time in the namek arc. the assimilation of nail alone made him infinitely more powerful, to the point of being slightly stronger than freezer 2nd form; with kami sama he would have been by far the most powerful in the universe.

Vegeta's durability/plot armor during the Saiyan Saga was ludicrous, to be honest. Had this been Namek Saga Vegeta, he would've been done for after losing the beam struggle. Remember how Zarbon beat his ass down with just a few punches and kicks and headbutts? Goku with the Kaioken times three was stronger compared to Saiyan Saga Vegeta than Monster Zarbon was compared to Namek Saga Vegeta at that point in time.
