    It might have been insignificant if he had asked her to pass the mayonnaise. But no... She, in her innocence, chose this 'mayonnaise,' which is a humble British condiment made from eggs, a symbol of life itself. Mayonnaise is a blend, like the blend offered at Brockwood Institute... of knowledge, culture, and experience. The education there was well-rounded, like an egg! Also, she was eight, and this number looks like an egg timer... Coincidence? You unbeliever... I see I'll have to delve deeper... Luckily, this was only the tip of the iceberg (which is great with mayonnaise, by the way). Mayonnaise, specifically, is an emulsion. A stable combination of two or more elements that normally do not mix. This mix is stabilized with the help of an emulsifier (like egg yolk). This blending of seemingly incompatible ingredients to form a smooth, unified whole with the essence of life uniting both points directly to Krishnamurti's teachings. Krishnamurti often spoke about the integration of different aspects of the self and the harmonization of one's thoughts and actions. He emphasized the importance of understanding and bringing together various facets of life to achieve a coherent and harmonious existence. An emulsion. According to Krishnamurti, life is mayonnaise, and awareness is the emulsifier. Krishnamurti was known for his teachings on living a life of simplicity and awareness. He encouraged people to be mindful and present in their daily activities. Mayonnaise, being a common and simple condiment, masterfully represents the everyday aspects of life. Recognizing the significance of simple, everyday things aligns with Krishnamurti's emphasis on mindfulness and the beauty of simplicity. Krishnamurti often talked about breaking down psychological barriers and divisions within oneself and society. The offering from the young to the old, the innocent to the wise, of mayonnaise, which breaks down the barrier between oil and water (which naturally do not mix), is the ultimate act of creating unity from separation. It symbolizes Krishnamurti's teachings on overcoming divisions and achieving inner and outer harmony. May every child henceforth bathe in mayonnaise on their 8th birthday to honor the offering. May I humbly suggest to Off-Grid Mind, our holy Innocent, to pin this comment so that all may understand, the Offering can be observed worldwide, and humanity can finally emulsify?

    • @OffGridMind
      @OffGridMind 13 дней назад

      Duly pinned, Ludifant! Please take care with your condiments, in terms of provenance, Mayonnaise is not British (nor humble!), it is French, from the region of Les Mayons. Fait attention mon ami! lol. ps: love your vids, subbed.

  • @Ludifant
    @Ludifant 13 дней назад

    Thank you for sharing.. I was born on this day Krishnamurti was offered mayonaise.. You have given this special meaning to my life now. The simple things shine a light on the extraordinariness of experience. The simpler, the more extraordinary. Because the extraordinary thing is that we can find things simple at all.

    Was gonna say, that first statement sounds backwards. In action as the do-er I think we are not held accountable because we are in Maya. Once you wake up, you know how actions impact others and I would think then you would be more accountable than when u were asleep and unaware. Just my opinion

    • @OffGridMind
      @OffGridMind 14 дней назад

      In action as the do-er we are accountable, whether we know it or not. Being in Samsara is not a get out of jail free card, just as ignorance of the law is no defense in the breaking of it. We continue to incarnate into Samsara until we realize our true nature, which is oneness with everything that appears not to be us. Then we have a chance to transcend Samsara and all its traps. Accountability remains constant whether we are ignorant or aware. Thank you for commenting, best wishes :)

    Greetings - I'm posting here in reply to a video you posted years ago titled: What Non-Duality/Neo-Advaita Teachers Won't Tell You That was very interesting. I had no prior knowledge to this state of awareness from any external source when it just occurred one day. It lasted about four days. Needless to say I stayed at home because there was no way to go to work like that. I have a science background so I began drawing, writing, recording etc... to figure out what was going on. I wanted evidence of it while it was happening. Eventually I emerged, and went down a massive rabbit hole of spiritual threads on the internet. Eventually I settled into what was going on. I have purposefully avoided any teachings as best as I can, but eventually other's opinions became relevant - like yours. If this is what I expect, then it should complete itself without the help of anyone else's imagination. I have discovered since then that the ego is under constant duress from the authentic self. It is though I am in a constant loop of correction, half in and half out of either frame of persistence. I have never meditated or even opened a book on the occult or anything of the sort because I always considered it foolishness. And I think the state of meditation is a waking one that can't be set aside. Sitting down to meditate is the same as grocery shopping. So, I guess my question is this if you don't mind. Your video was five years ago. What has five years of meditation revealed to you new since then?

    • @OffGridMind
      @OffGridMind 18 дней назад

      Thank you for engaging :) Five years ago? Goodness me, time passes increasingly quickly! So yes, I have continued to practice every day since that video, making it over 11 years continuous daily practice up to today. What has that activity revealed to me? Difficult to put into words really, so I might have to go for your grocery shopping analogy; sitting down to meditate is, you are correct, the same as grocery shopping, the same as brushing one's teeth, doing the dishes, in its mechanics. I exercise and stretch, sit and chant, stay sitting for Pranayama then 35 mins silence. Same thing every day. But the groceries, oh my goodness, the deliciousness of them deepens daily. The quality increases, they are juicy, sweet and full of goodness and get cheaper and cheaper as time goes by. It is the diametric opposite to most 'treatments' for life's difficulties in that meditation brings cumulative effects. To me it represents the most interesting and challenging endeavour I have ever known. I thoroughly recommend a simple, straightforward, easy to remember, good quality daily practice, it brings spiritual, mental emotional and physical benefits that nothing else can. Best wishes to you!

      @@OffGridMind Thank you for the prompt reply. I have found myself looking for what fits as a repetitive method. I agree with your approach - simple and something that fits in with normal daily life. At first there's some sense of urgency to establish some sort of something... and then it fades into the reported repose that I have read from other's entries here and there on various threads. Thanks again, I hope you have a pleasant week.

    • @OffGridMind
      @OffGridMind 15 дней назад

      @@AtomkeySinclair I think the urgency and subsequent fading of motivation is very common. Maybe when we create a mental object out of the imagined results of practice, which then fail to materialize to our self-imposed schedule, we lose heart. For my part, I have always tried to keep the motivation very simple, just to do the practice, this time, today. Imaginary results of enlightenment can be a terrible burden. Best wishes to you :)

    Hi. How do you know that we are vibrating energy? The idea that we are "vibrating energy" is a concept that stems from various fields, including physics, metaphysics, and spiritual traditions. Here are some perspectives on this idea: Physics Perspective: At the most fundamental level, everything in the universe is made up of atoms, which are in turn composed of subatomic particles (protons, neutrons, electrons). These particles exhibit wave-like properties and are always in motion, hence the idea that everything, including humans, is made of "vibrating" energy. Quantum mechanics describes how particles can exist in different states and positions simultaneously, vibrating at various frequencies. Biological Perspective: In biology, the human body is a complex system of cells and molecules that interact constantly. Cellular processes, such as the vibrations of cell membranes and molecular interactions, contribute to the overall functioning of the body. Metaphysical and Spiritual Perspective: Many spiritual and metaphysical traditions assert that human beings are not just physical bodies but also have energetic components (such as chakras or auras) that vibrate at different frequencies. Practices such as meditation, energy healing (like Reiki), and sound therapy are believed to help harmonize or adjust these vibrations to promote health and well-being. Psychological Perspective: Emotions and thoughts can be considered forms of energy that influence our mental and physical states. Positive emotions and thoughts are often described as having higher vibrations, while negative emotions have lower vibrations. This concept is sometimes used in the context of the Law of Attraction, where it is believed that maintaining a high vibrational state can attract positive experiences into one's life. While the idea of vibrating energy can be interpreted in various ways, it is essential to distinguish between scientifically proven phenomena and metaphorical or philosophical interpretations. The concept resonates with many people because it integrates physical reality with experiential and spiritual understandings of human existence.

      I've been meaning to reply to you for a while. I am a strong fan of the scientific method, up to a point. It is very useful in many respects. But there's an aspect to existence that doesn't fit fully with any of the models you've delineated. That doesn't obviate the models, but what I do and what I've talked about on this channel is a spiritual matter and words fail it. I've tried! In any case, thank you for engaging, best wishes :)

    • @user-eh8qy6lj5n
      @user-eh8qy6lj5n 8 дней назад

      @@OffGridMind We can probably agree on this: "To be one with." The metaphysical teaching lies in perfect adherence to what is, in unconditional acceptance of the present, and in the liberation from past rejections. It is through this adherence that one can discover the infinite and the eternal, and live in harmony with the world. If, here and now, you are totally and perfectly one with an ephemeral, relative reality, whatever it may be, this ephemeral reality disappears as a limited form and reveals to you this unique reality (God, Brahman, the Tao, the ''energy'', the infinite, waves/ocean...) eternal in time and unique in space, that is, in fact, transcending time and space. It is written in one of the two great Upanishads that one says "Aum/Om/Amen" to show assent. "Om" in the ultimate sense of the word, is the absolute acquiescence to Brahman, Vishnu, and Shiva, meaning to creation, preservation, and destruction. "Om" thus encapsulates the entire teaching. "Om" = "To be one with" = ''Yes''.

Even When you meditate with the sense of egolessness you develop new negative ego. But it has to be that way, there is nothing wrong with it. Yes! You almost said the “R” word! 😉 I find it quite amusing to hear teachers say to trust and reside in experience rather than thought and beliefs. Then in the next breath they say that there’s a universal consciousness that we’re all part of. Really? That’s a belief, not direct experience. In direct experience there’s only the single consciousness attached to this body. This awareness might be the same as everyone else’s from an experiential perspective. That should engender some compassion for others based on our shared experience, but there’s zero evidence that this consciousness is linked in any way to anyone else’s.

    I agree with hard determinists like Robert Sapolski and Sam Harris. We don’t have free will. Full stop. There is nothing in physics that could possibly explain free will. Neurons are not exempt from cause and effect. Yes, that means it doesn’t make sense for me to feel pride in any accomplishments, mine or any other. Do I take responsibility for my actions? Do I act as if I have free will? Yes on both accounts, as it’s necessary to get along in society, but I’ve seen through that illusion just as I’ve seen through the illusion of a separate self.

    Do other animals have free will, and if so, which have it and which don’t? How can you test for it? To have free will, the “controller” must be free of the network of cause and effect, call it dependent origination or the combination of nature and nurture. Show me a neuron that is exempt from cause and effect and I will believe in free will. Show me a network of neurons exempt from cause and effect and I will believe in free will.

    So, your method is: create a misunderstanding in your mind of what Rupert is doing/saying/feeling, and then proceed to criticize it. Well, we can do that all day long and it's got nothing to do with anyone but yourself.

    Rupert Spira seems to be all about either convincing yourself that you are essentially just your awareness (which he says is a refraction of the singular universal awareness), or resting in that awareness. His teachings are not very deep. Tony Parsons and his acolytes are even more shallow. They would say they have nothing to offer and I would agree. They say there’s nothing to do to become enlightened and anyway, no one to do it even if there were something to do. The strange thing is that most, if not all of them studied for years before apparently realizing anatta and then becoming unable to communicate it clearly. The Buddha told his followers how to build a raft to get to the other side and then said that once crossed over, they could abandon the raft. Parson et al. spent years building the raft, crossed, and now say “no thing” happened to no one and they never needed the raft in the first place. Whether they actually believe that or have found that they can make more money by keeping their followers confused and never making progress, I’ll leave for others to decide. When the guru says that space and time don’t exist and yet their website says when and where to pay money to hear them, let’s just say that their (non-)message is at the very least inconsistent.

    The hypothetical situation I describe above presupposes that it is proven that someone told you something that wasn't true, knowing that it wasn't true, and knowing that you believed them. Unless we are absolutely sure about that, we cannot call it 'fact'.

    Yes, what we're surely aiming for is a way of perceiving the world where there is _only_ discernment (i.e. _without_ judgement). Because judgement is personal and relates to the ego, whereas discernment is pure intelligence and beyond the personal. I'd be careful with 'facts' though. In your example of the person who deliberately lied to you, it could be argued that your mere conclusion about the 'facts' of the situation was _already_ judgemental - before we even talk about the topic of discernment versus judgement!

      I will talk again at the difference between discernment and judgement - I didn't elucidate it clearly enough here. Thank you for commenting :)
