I've recently been listening to a lot of Hillside Hermitage dharma talks on repeat. check em out yourself. they rightly point out that meditation for beginners is done for wrong reasons and is basically a concentration/focus training, which I still think is pretty good, but does not really lead to enlightenment or anything. I've personally never had daily scheduled practice , despite that I've made some progress with concentration since I do it anytime I have a free moment.
I think contemplation of what's going on (what guys on that channel call the Right View) and keeping that as a context for everyday life is the most important thing. but ye however you cut it scheduled daily practice is nice, I'll start tomorrow I swear (not) :DD

    ..Self inquiry maybe??

Can you go into more detail? Do you mean psychotherapy? I think self inquiry is essential, but it is, in the end, thinking and feeling. Meditation is different from that.

      I suppose you're right
For me self inquiry isn't necessarily about working with a specific thought, but more noticing the body sensations and thoughts as they come and go. Although now I've written it down like that, that's exactly how I meditate.
...so yeah, I'm probably talking bollocks. This stuffs hard to talk about 🤔
      Love your channel btw ❤️

@@tony.worswick Yes, it is very hard to talk about. As soon as we try to put words to it it seems to dissolve. Hmmm, can't think why! Thank you :)
