Free will, no free will - it makes little difference. We still have to struggle in our (possibly imaginary) world and the consequences are the same, either way.

I agree with hard determinists like Robert Sapolski and Sam Harris. We don’t have free will. Full stop. There is nothing in physics that could possibly explain free will. Neurons are not exempt from cause and effect.
Yes, that means it doesn’t make sense for me to feel pride in any accomplishments, mine or any other. Do I take responsibility for my actions? Do I act as if I have free will? Yes on both accounts, as it’s necessary to get along in society, but I’ve seen through that illusion just as I’ve seen through the illusion of a separate self.
