Love your warning at 3 mins approx about thinking how lucky one is to have discovered nonduality and/or how clever one is for having awakened to it. So many preachers of it do come across like that and it's off putting (especially when they start giddily laughing about it on camera). Found this vid refreshing precisely because it isn't like that. Also love your warning at the end regarding the pitfall of concluding, "So what's the f***ing point?" and becoming nihilistic, as I have struggled with those feelings intermittently when contemplating nondualism and Alan Watts' concept that we are "God playing all the parts".

I've found studying the so-called nihilists tremendously rewarding. For example, Nietzsche apparently said of Schopenhauer, "he grumbled all day at this writing desk, but still went home and played his flute at night."
Nietzsche too urged in his Zarathustra to realize that it's so much Schopenhauer doing either those things, but a body performing the illusion of "I."
So all of the -isms are theoretically never really a problem, nor is feeling lucky about being the one who figured it out. It's just what's happening, and über-luck is having the meta-cognition to see the nesting of realizations inside of realizations and how they continually slosh around. Hence the ocean metaphors that come up in so much Advaita Vedanta along with the clouds drifting across the sun.

    Each to their own.

Yes very pertinent point not mentioned by all the teachers. Because they are on their own and then teaching I guess! As Sting sings " our spirits in the material world"

My experience has been that the more I hold on to the true I the more life-serving my actions become. For now nondual glimmers come and go, I REMAIN (AM)

There is no “you " in nonduality. lol. Everything being One, there cannot be a second.

Perhaps the greatest pitfall is the loss of discernment between good and evil. The sense of freedom one gains through the understanding and realization of non-duality can be translated by some as justification for indulging in unwholesome and/or detrimental behaviors. Who's to judge? Right?

Om Mani Padme Hum Hrih, Om Mani Padme Hum Hrih, Om Mani Padme Hum Hrih - repeat repeat repeat. It is, imo, exactly the danger you describe that necessitates the active injection of compassion and respect into the non-dual mind space.

When I ask myself the question: ‘Do other being exist?’ I merely see substance, in the form of thoughts screaming ‘YES, BE MORAL’, plus a feeling approving that thought. Is that the case that’s made that other being exist? Should I find that convincing? Please, tell me what I’m missing here, because hearing a good case for duality is something I’m yearning. I just don’t see it.

Well, there's a good case for the existence of me - in so far as I carry out actions that have an effect on others - so if there's a me and there's a you, then that kind of settles it doesn't it? Don't worry about the philosophical complexities, just breathe and be kind as far as you can. All best to you :)

@@OffGridMind Thank you, only what I mean is that all concepts seem empty, including the one that an action I take has an effect on others. So that concept doesn’t really prove the solidity of the other concept. I appreciate your kind words, but I’m not convinced.

@@sammusic7537 Well, I am convinced that your reply had a positive effect on me, and I thank you for it. Maybe just try doing some more beneficial things and check with the way your feelings respond. If you see a piece of litter in the street, pick it up and put it in a bin. I know there are people paid to do that, so why bother, but your action will save one of those people one act of bending over and picking it up. They won't know that, but who cares? You will have done a good thing for another person. Do things like that repeatedly, with no thought of reward, and see how your feelings respond. Bung a little money to a charity or something. See how it makes you feel. All the best! :)
