Thanks people. I would like to clarify a few things about the above post as the comment section seems to have gotten a little confused as to my meaning: It is obvious fact that all places in all locations harbour some unsavoury types (I shan't go into detail), as much as it is fact that all places breed some very decent, well mannered people. My use of words was to place them in that decent bracket of people, which is commonly referred to up North as 'Salt of the Earth'. Ok let's look at the story here. These boys witnessed a man die and stepped into action to help out. In such a situation, your emotional response is being repressed to perform critical functions. After traumatic events, people often find they have an automatic response to shut down and dissociate as a means to stay safe at a perceived threat. So now these boys are in a strange situation, with cameras, a nervous situation with people talking about a serious incident in a cavalier way. A very surreal situation. My guess would be he's experiencing an adrenaline rush from the situation and zoning out because it's just too much to handle. From the description of what they did it is clear he's able to make astute decisions under pressure. It's funny how people with no life experience can look at this and laugh and make fun, but it just shows that you've not been through difficult situations, or have very low empathy levels.
Dude. People laugh at litteral death. My classmate was like "yo check this out" and it was someone blowing their head off with a shotgun. Sometimes its easeir to shut those emotions off than deal with them

These lads are northerners so champion has a different meaning, in the north of England a champion isn't someone who prevails in a given skill, it's in fact a word that is used to describe enjoyment of something such as a football win, decent sex, or a good meal. *"That were champion that!"*
Their parents were definitely proud. I’m impressed by how quickly they took charge of the situation but most of all that they helped everyone else instead of just getting to safety themselves. That is heroic.
Really couldn't more proud of these lads. Martin and Brian demonstrated cool heads under very difficult circustances. And the way in which they organised the passengers, helped those in greatest need first, and even had the foresight and aptitude to press the door release at precisely the right time really goes to show they truly are salt pf the earth lads. Not to mention the clarity of thought they possessed in such a "hot mess" situation. The fact the bus started rolling backwards just as everyone thought the danger had ended, must have put severe strain on the nerves and cool thinking that these great lads demonstrated - yet they once again sprung into action. Even attempting to slow the rolling bus using brute strength alone. Cracking job lads. Your parents must be so proud. Definitely need an award.
The way that they decided to present this as though it was simply a light-hearted, feel good story and had to keep on doing the jovial delivery even when presented with some children who'd obviously done thier best in a horrific situation and *watched a man die*, is er... an interesting thing to watch

Your right they're good decent lads who did a good thing and all people are commenting about is that ones ginger and other one looks like droopy the dog bang outta order
U wot m8 to this is bollocks, they're 2 good hearted working class lads. Might not be the sharpest on earth but they're decent people and that's what matters.
Ya'll those two kids saved a bunch of people, witnessed a guy die right in front of them, and are now stuck in a really awkward television interview literally the next day. Why do people think it's appropriate to joke about it in the comments? Those boys are good people, we need more people out there like them.
Both lads clearly decent for their actions but the red guy is a legend. If I were ever on TV I'd like to be like him. Honest, calm, no nonsense, despite the supposed professionals asking banal, silly and basic questions. I'd have binned the clowns in the suits off straightaway after.
1:33 I never seen this. So the guy on the left hears it and is losing it while holding a straight face like his life depends on it, and the reporter who heard it too decides to double down. Replayed it a few times before I got it, the guy on the right is my spirit animal.
That’s because he doesn’t say it. The meme comes from a snapshot of this video, solely because his face happens to match the tone of U WOT M8 on that image (& he’s the typical sort of british ginger teen that would say something like that)
I'm American, and I got that too. And even if he did, it wasn't even memeable. It was so silent I missed it, and he clearly said "you want...". Why did this lameness get so much hype in the title? I must be missing context or something, because I don't get it. It's just a sad, but heroic story from what I can see.
What two thoroughly decent young lads. Back in the day before all school kids were 'Bedroom TV Presenters', taking command of the camera, talking like weathered football pundits. Hope they got recognition for their actions. Hope too they went on to have good lives and fulfilling careers 👏
When I used to drink heavily in my early 20s possibly my top three drunkest I had two lads like this carry me around half a mile to my house, laid me on my couch and wouldn't take £20 off me and locked me in and posted my keys through the door. Really good lads, I'm a pretty big guy but in that state I couldn't do anything and they could have had everything I owned.
@@administrato1234 mate trust me he's not like this on the interview because of trauma, he either doesn't do well whilst on camera and being on the spot or he is genuinely just a bit stoned lol

Sad that people made fun of these kids just because of their working class background. They're heroes ffs. Just goes to show that classism/elitism is still rife in society 😕
shut up
I don’t see anyone making fun of them, just comment after comment saying it’s sad that people mock them.
@@StainsStainsStains are you blind the top commet does just that
Your right they're good decent lads who did a good thing
and all people are commenting about is that ones ginger and other one looks like droopy the dog

@Mizan Presenters are typical media luvvies, shallow , glib and patronising
U wot m8 to this is bollocks, they're 2 good hearted working class lads. Might not be the sharpest on earth but they're decent people and that's what matters.
Yet they demonstrated problem-solving skills under pressure that would eclipse most of the muppets commenting on this video.

Two proper blokes. If my wife or kids were on that bus I’d be eternally grateful to them. If I ever get chance to meet them the pints are on me.
Well done to the two lads for rising to the occasion. They weren’t expecting to become famous from it that’s for sure 👍
Nice Ring Nebula profile picture.
@@Big_Footless thanks 👍
These lads are awesome. Down to earth legends. Make me proud to be working class British
Turns out he’s actually a genuinely decent lad after all this time
Ya'll those two kids saved a bunch of people, witnessed a guy die right in front of them,
and are now stuck in a really awkward television interview literally the next day.
Why do people think it's appropriate to joke about it in the comments?
Those boys are good people, we need more people out there like them.
Because you get unfortunate idiots who think they're funny, everywhere? 🤨
I'm sure these two lads wisely just take it in their stride.
People can act stupid and not get embarrassed because they are behind a screen
The Meme is that he actually doesn’t say “u wot m8”
Still tricks ppl to this day
I'm from where they are from, it's so common to say that round here though, wonder how it caught on t'internet wide

He clearly says "You wanna tell 'em?".
Both lads clearly decent for their actions but the red guy is a legend. If I were ever on TV I'd like to be like him. Honest, calm, no nonsense, despite the supposed professionals asking banal, silly and basic questions. I'd have binned the clowns in the suits off straightaway after.
At what point does anyone in this video say "U WOT M8"?
Sadly, at no moment.
Exactly!

1:33 I never seen this. So the guy on the left hears it and is losing it while holding a straight face like his life depends on it, and the reporter who heard it too decides to double down. Replayed it a few times before I got it, the guy on the right is my spirit animal.
Their reactions are priceless
Hope these lads are living life to the fullest.

Are you serious? I live in Britain and I can say, he does NOT say "U wot m8" it doesn't even SOUND like that, he says "U want tell em?" -_-
That’s because he doesn’t say it. The meme comes from a snapshot of this video, solely because his face happens to match the tone of U WOT M8 on that image (& he’s the typical sort of british ginger teen that would say something like that)
The internet is weird.
@This is the best name I could come up with this is a definite r/rareinsults
I'm American, and I got that too. And even if he did, it wasn't even memeable. It was so silent I missed it, and he clearly said "you want...". Why did this lameness get so much hype in the title? I must be missing context or something, because I don't get it. It's just a sad, but heroic story from what I can see.
I'm deaf and English isn't my native language, but there wasn't "u wot m8"
What two thoroughly decent young lads.
Back in the day before all school kids were 'Bedroom TV Presenters', taking command of the camera, talking like weathered football pundits.
Hope they got recognition for their actions. Hope too they went on to have good lives and fulfilling careers 👏
Bless him really helping his mate who’s lost his voice Awh heartwarming
I didn’t really understand but what I can say is these kids are heros that saved aload of lives, quality lads !!
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
Memes aside i respect these guys alot
"The driver sadly died...but Martin and Brian have been praise" will always get me because of how casual he says it
He actually says "you want to", as in do you want to tell them the story.
Then he went on to form a very successful band King Krule, top lad.
2:16 "We was fair scared at the time." 😎
What a great duo, Martin making sure that they know what Brian did and helping him speak up. Great lads, hope they're living their best life.
Well done boys! You’re both heroes, you should be proud.
They still look like they're thinking about what they're going to have with their tea

You can tell they’re very socially awkward people, so for them to have set that aside to take charge of a horrible situation is even more selfless. I hope life’s been kind to these two.

The bus went out of control and the ginger lad shouted, "u wot m8?!" and the bus suddenly stopped (by the power of "u wot m8?!").
