39 years old. 4.94 aortic aneurysm and moderate/severe insufficiency. Having CT coronary angiography next month. Cardiologist says he plans to delay surgery till 5.5 cm cause valve functions as bicuspid but anatomically is tricuspid, surgeon thinks it's time. I dunno who to listen to. In a month from now when I'm done with the CT coronary angiography the desicion will be made. I am super anxious and in fear. I think of it 24/7. Whenever i feel a weird sensation on the upper torso, cause of the aneurysm, im scared of eruption.

I'm still not physically back to where I was the day before surgery. I heard so many stories about how much better people felt after surgery compared to before. Since I was pretty much asymptomatic, I've had to come to the reality that it's going to take longer to get back to that point. This is all my personal experience though, so I'm sure there are plenty of others that are back or better faster than me.

Will step it up. I have included physiotherapy in my daily routine too. Helps to keep the body flexible and cut out the stiffness to an extent

If your going in for this surgery do not think it will be the same for you. I had the surgery 5 years ago at age 49. I watched these videos too expecting the worst but only took pain meds for two days then only Tylenol at night. Do the breathing excersizing as much as PIA it is and walk as much as you can do, its the best thing you can do. Was it pleasent? No, but just have to be positive because you will feel so much better. 2 weeks after surgery I was getting getting yelled at for doing yard work lol.

The mysterious chest twinges are of interest to me... I am told they are just nothing, but being located directly over my heart, I am anxious about the twinges or the areas that feel bruised when I press on them... Would be interesting to hear form a caregiver perspective... I am 60, and live alone with no family, so potentially having valve replacement for me is a big deal... how will I be able to deal with the everyday stuff like showering and moving, esp. in the first few weeks...
