I had my Aortic valve replaced along with a triple bypass in July last year. I'm healthier and stronger than I was before. I didn't have any symptoms until I started collapsing unconscious at home. I inherited my late fathers condition I was told if I didn't have the operation I had two years left. All fixed now and I'm better for it. Good luck and speedy recovery to you.
Sounds like me. I have surgery scheduled for the 22nd to replace my bicuspid aortic valve. I'm 45 and have been suffering from low blood flow for a long time now. I didn't recognize it, just pushed harder. Now I realize how much stronger I'll be, how much more energy I'll have after this is completed. I look at it as an blessing. 5 to 10 days of lifesaving torture at the hospital and then I can go home and sort it out. I'm ready to get this show on the road. Lets dance!
I have completed one month since aortic valve replacement surgery and my experience is pretty similar to yours except for the fact that you are far more active in your walking sessions then I am. Will step it up. I have included physiotherapy in my daily routine too. Helps to keep the body flexible and cut out the stiffness to an extent

I've had two double valve replacements 10 years apart. Aortic and mitral. Recovering is so full of ups and downs. Pretty soon it will be a distant memory. I am 7 days post op from Valve in Valve mitral replacement via transcatheter. Night and day recovery, but we are so lucky to live during this time. Hope you are doing amazing!
I was pretty similar at that point. I wasn't too sore unless I over did things (which I did pretty regularly). I hope all continues to go well for you.
The full sternotomy was recommended by my surgery since I also needed the ascending aorta replaced. This method gives better vision and more room to work. I'm very happy with it, but every person should talk with their surgeon about their situation.

I'm from India .recruited in police 3 years ago now my problem is shortlessness of breath chest pain .doct said ur not fit for police now because of frequent training my age is 25 having mod AR.how could u manage ur inr ?is it by self checked tool or going to doct
I currently go to an anticoagulation clinic once a month to be checked and adjust my medication as needed. My experience post surgery has been an improvement physically. Hopefully you can have a similar result.
@@bicuspidaorticvalvereplacement could I run as before after the surgery?could I able to do hard work after the surgery? main problem is anticoagulation medicine .this is matter of my job .I'm very disappointed right now .using medicine rampril and lasilactone right now.and penidure injection every 21 days
Everyone is different. The goal and evidence suggests that I will eventually be better than I was pre-surgery. Talk to your surgeon and ask these questions it's a major life event and you need to feel confident in the plan.

It's a journey for sure. 1 year ago today I had my first full day at home from the hospital. Keep moving!

Thanks for watching. It comes and goes. There are days I don't hear it at all and days that it's all I hear. You definitely get used to it though.

How did you deal with the pain when you cough or sneeze. I am battling that right now. My sternum hurts . I’m about 2 and a half weeks out
Thankfully I didn't have to deal with a sneeze for over a month. Coughing was tough at times, but hugging a pillow helped.
Pillow, blanket or your hands against your chest helped me. I had three open heart surgeries.
Hug a dense pillow!
Were you still sore around week 3 or 4? I spaced out my Tylenol too but I think I over walked and am a bit sore again.

Why r u not going through minimal invasive approach instead of medium sternotomy?
