I came here for the reason you talked about at the end of the video. I'm just over a month out from the same procedure you had; April 18, 2024. I'm praying that two months after I'm doing as well as you are. Thanks for posting these.
@@bicuspidaorticvalvereplacement It is. Your videos have helped me immensely. I actually just watched this video again the other day as my 2 month date is coming up (6/18). Thank you!
I'm a year out from this video now and I can tell you that it gets better. I had some rough times over the first 6 months but I'm so much better now. I hope your recovery continues to go well.
I had my Aortic valve replaced and a triple bypass on July 3rd last year, 2023, on July 29th, the eve of my 54th birthday I had a heart attack, if I was alone I'd be dead now, thankfully my other half called the ambulance, no pain, no discomfort I just felt strange, I was de-fibbed back and was rushed into the OR for another procedure, balloon angioplasty is it? as the graft I'd had nearly four weeks previously was leaking back into my heart. All good now though and back in the gym training hard and seeing good results, it must be the new volume of oxygenated blood because I feel really good. Hope you're all well out there, it can and will get better for you.
Thanks for posting these updates. I had the same procedure done 2 months after you, and it makes me feel better to hear someone else going through this challenging stuff, and I can relate to the majority of it. I need to force myself not to overdo the physical activity because most days I feel better than prior to the surgery. Good luck in your continued recovery!
It's easy to overdo it on good days. I'm glad these videos are helpful. Just keep focused on the goal and don't get too down if you have a bad day or two along the way.
I haven't really changed any life habits at this point. I bruise easier and have to have periodic INR checks, but otherwise I'm doing the same things as I was before warfarin.

You'll do great! There are lots of ups and downs, but keep focused on the whole process, I find that it helps on the tough days.
April 22nd here. Bicuspid Aortic valve, severe aortic stenosis. 45 yo male.
I hope all is going well for you.

I’m at four weeks. And sometimes I feel like this was the worst decision I ever made. I’m glad you said that.

That's quite the event! Glad to hear you are doing well, it's always good to hear.

What is the therapy or exercises that are best for your support with getting over the heart surgery
I think that it would vary greatly. Walking was what worked best for me. Once I started cardiac rehab I was able to do more, but under supervision.
what do you have to change in your life habits when taking waf.....the blood thinner ?
