    Hi Jeff. I’m two months post AVR surgery and I am finally beginning to feel better. I’m walking and taking the meds. Next week I will begin cardiac rehab at my local hospital. I am dealing with emotional issues from time to time but I hope these issues will decrease over time. Thank you for your encouraging words. All the best to you.

    I never comment on RUclips but felt I needed to tell you thank you for your content! I too am 6 months post op AVR and bypass. I can relate to everything you’ve said regarding your journey and has taken my “fear factor”down several notches! First 3 months were brutal for me due to meditation sensitivity. Now with some med changes I feel fantastic! I’m back to the gym almost pre-level surgery. I look forward to your future videos! Good luck on your recovery!!

      That's great! I love to hear from people that have some real time with their valves. Slow and steady is the pace, I just have to keep reminding myself.

    Thank you, Jeff for your update. I am just over 5 weeks, and it is definitely a roller-coaster Journey, my biggest issue has been my Blood Pressure and muscular aches and pain's around my neck area, shoulder blade, and ribs.
    I have been endeavouring to keep up an exercise schedule, but it has been quite challenging.
    So I will wait until I do rehab so that I know what I can do properly. My doctor put me on low-dose. And now I have had to double that, but yes, thank you. Your RUclips presentation is very informative and encouraging at the same time. Thank you very much.

      You are still early in your recovery. Walking was the best thing for me at that stage. Hang in there, it gets better!

    I'm also 6 months post op had CABG and triple bypass on 3rd July 23, I'm fit and healthy so the procedure needed was a shock to say the least. Started back training 8 weeks after, beginning of September, feel better and stronger than before. Just goes to show that I never realised how bad a condition I was in before the op. Good old NHS diagnosed and operation completed in 17 days.

    Checked in to see if you posted a new update. Hope that no news is good news - that you’re well and just living your life! Thanks for posting your journal, I appreciated it so much during my own recovery from surgery and I know others will value this journal in the future.

    I’m 62 and 15 months post op after bentall procedure with mechanical valve . It’s been a slow process for me but the worst thing has been skipping heartbeats which causes terrible anxiety , I find anxiety , sugar and chilli gives me heart skips , I have just been told not to worry about the skips but have been booked in for an echocardiogram to check . It’s very hard when you have a mechanical valve and can hear your heart skipping beats , good luck to you all and thanks for your content 👍

      That's the tough part for sure. I think we can all be a little hypersensitive after such a big surgery and I find myself listening too closely sometimes. I hope all goes well with your echo!

    Good to hear you are doing better! I hit my 6 week milestone this past Tuesday and have kind of had an up and down experience with some arrhythmia and electrolyte issues. Nothing serious, but definitely interrupting my progress in recovery. Wearing a holter monitor currently to see if there is anything going on that warrants adjusting my meds. Monday is my first day back at work, I'm hopeful getting back to a normal routine will improve things.

    • @bicuspidaorticvalvereplacement
      @bicuspidaorticvalvereplacement  10 месяцев назад +2

      Hopefully it won't show anything major and getting back into a routine will make you feel normal. You're still early in the journey so don't try to rush it.

    Hey Jeff , I was just wondering if the ticking sound got better or less noticeable after some time? I’m dealing with the constant ticking and I can sometimes hear it in my ears…..your channel has been a great help to a lot of people man. Thank you 🙏🏼

    • @bicuspidaorticvalvereplacement
      @bicuspidaorticvalvereplacement  9 месяцев назад +1

      The ticking is always there (thankfully) but I only hear it when I stop to listen for it. It basically fades into the background over time. When I was having issues, I was more locked in on it.
      Hang in there, things get better!
