@0:43 Man I LOVED the quest around Blackmoss the Fetid. I always made sure to do that quest, then hold on to the summonable pet item until end game. Yes, it wasn't the strongest thing around, but it DID level scale. And it was hilarious to pop it in the Arthas fight.

That's probably the shittiest legendary ever. A whopping 13 strenght some agility and stamina and a WHOLE 4 extra damage on attack. If a mob hits you 20 times that's 40 damage.

Fun fact- The raid leader of the raid noktyn was in was Nisstyr, the current associate game director. There were numerous blizzard employees in that raid, noktyn himself was not one and eventually went to become a multiple-gladiator warrior during tbc-wrath.

really could've sworn this was the talisman that dropped outside Black temple and was the necks piece location after a lone rouge player looted by a mob he killed and was about the only accessory to be able to seen as a "necklace" in the game.

My first character was a night elf Druid, so the emerald dream and the old gods (if you make it all the way down darkshore) were one of the first lore bits I knew. I also knew about the unfinished emerald dream zones and the people trying to crack it. I left the game in mists after losing interest, but came back in BfA. You can imagine my surprise about the Druid order hall and the replaced Moonglade teleport.

The original Talisman of Binding Shard was the ONLY necklace/amulet to ever be visible when equipped on a character. This caused issues and contributed to removing it. People might find this weird today, but realise that back then, computers, internet connections and graphics were not as advanced as today.

I was the world first rogue with Thunderfury. I was in a guild that had two dumb tanks that both passed on the first binding because "it was bad for aggro". Everyone knew this was a bug but I kept my mouth shut and the guild leaders let rogues bid. There were no dps warriors in that particular run. I had the most DKP so I won. Three weeks later the second binding dropped. That guild fell apart soon after and I joined a guild that had two warrior tanks with the bindings already. With three sets of bindings we had to borrow elementium ore from an alliance guild (who had no bindings) once BWL was released. I had Thunderfury so early that my offhand was rare (blue) since my original epic weapon was main hand only. It felt like I won the game.

I was big into the twinking scene back in TBC/ICC, running these raids "at level" (granted with OP AF gear) was so much fun. Since the guild was a "trophy accounts" we regularly did all this extra content for one-another. Setting up the CC's so somebody could learn to make bars was a fond memory.

I tamed this pet in live and it was the hardest thing I ever did in the game. So disappointed they re-released the skin

Cataclysm was the worst thing that happened to this beautiful game...

I played at this time when legendaries were so rare and also most people couldn’t even afford epic ground mounts because gold grinding was so tedious at the time. Then along came Legion and legendaries were handed out like candy, then we returned to a drought of legendaries in the following expansions. Now it feels like we’re all about the borrowed power items.

this entire story kinda summarizes both the thrill of the chase/aquisition of loot but also that the loot you worked so hard for quickly becomes obsolete

For me, Thunderfury (Blessed Blade of the Windseeker) became famous (or rather infamous) because of someone starting a thread in Trade Chat about it, whereupon everyone tried to work its name into a sentence. Oftentimes, this would lead to one or more of the following: Chuck Norris jokes, murloc jokes, and/or "an*l [insert ability]" jokes. Usually, this would begin with a handful of people in Trade Chat groaning or telling them to "shut the f*k up". This could-and often did-go on for hours. Ahh, those were the days... ❤

Imagine how much Noktyn's account would be worth... millions of players and he has the sole account with a unique legendary that no longest exists and will never be obtainable. It's like it belongs in a museum or something.

I had one of those deprecated essence of the firelords until my friend got my original account banned. Learned a powerful lesson about letting friends use your account that day.
