I know at one point of time at Menethil Harbor, there was a vendor that sold a torch item that required the survival skill to use, and having cooking counted for some reason. Using it would light the torch, and a playing having it on would gain an aura that gave +4 spirit to all allies within range, like a campfire. I think it was called the dimly-lit torch or something as such.
Bro you guys are being too hateful. OP mentioned the scrapped Survival profession, so he decided that'll be pertinent to mention TWoW, Shenna's shadiness notwithstanding.
Fluorescent Mechanostrider is available once again in SoD!! chance to drop off Thermaplugg hoping the devs pull out more unused models as the phases progress :)
I feel like your channel is one of the few actually places to find lost or interesting content on wow. A lot of the stuff is done to death and content creators always talk about famous objects, items, or quests. Love this dude, keep it up!
There are a lot of mounts in the gamefiles, my favourite is "Swift Dawnsaber" Brownish armored cat with red stones in the armor. Imo the greatest cat mount designed that was never seen ingame.
i have the murkimus the gladiator pet, which was given during an arena tournament back in 2009 where you had to play 200 matches to get it. in the following 2 years after, it was changed to 50 matches played...but i got it after the 200...which was waaaaaay harder. its a cool pet. its a murky in spartan helmet, shield, and spear.
The fact that they got rid of all the unique cool looking mount's and replaced them with dark mundane colour's is just mind boggling to me, they look so much better than the crap we got left with and forced to use over so many years.
Tabard of the Protector could technically be considered vanilla as you could only get it before Burning Crusade launched... Another rare item (though it was from Burning Crusade and so is not vanilla) is the vampire bat pet from Karazhan... people could only get it from an optional boss that was only in the game for the first month or so of the raid opening.
Yeah but with the Vampiric Batling the drop rate was 100% and dropped for everyone in the raid (or maybe a quest reward? idk, but I remember everyone in the raid is guaranteed it), and the boss was easy and was very close to the beginning of the raid. So as long as you were there for the event, and did raiding at all, you got it. I actually have 2 of them since I also got one on an alt. It wasn't locked behind some hard quest or obscure drop. So while it's a rare item, it's nowhere near as rare as any of the ones in these videos. Of the pre-Wrath stuff the Arcanite Ripper was probably rarer since only one dropped per kill (if the drop rate was even 100%, but I saw 2 drop on my 2 kills) Though I think that was added to the BMAH later.
@@DrewPicklesTheDark I actually have the Arcanite Ripper on my warrior (didn't get it from the raid though, pretty sure I got it from the Black Market Auction House...
Some of the original unarmoured lvl 60 mounts and I believe the spotted Nightsaber are available in some private servers, like as shop mounts in Turtle WoW.
I wonder what the player got for the removal of his spotted saber. Was is it something trivial and mundane, or something truly special? We may never know
Knowing Blizzard he probably was sent some real world merchandise, or was offered a trip to Blizzard or an event. That has usually been their MO in these cases. It's very unlikely his compensation was any ingame thing.

Turtle wow has the survival profession, and yes the dimly lit torch is in game, along with a tent that gives rested xp

Can't wait to watch this and yell "I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN!" at random points in the video.
Guaranteed to be a banger.

And we'll see it all on the trading post. (At least it feels that way.)

I was just to say "heeey i got that tabard" but I confused it with the competitors tabard 😅
goated
seeing the title made me think of the pet rock.
Basically if you get a rare item that nobody else has. Don't tell a single person.
Exactly. I like to think that there are some players with interesting unintended items hidden away in their bags without anyone knowing
