Loved your vlog. I recommend The Other Bennet Sister, which focuses on Mary and makes you seem her in a different light. It feels slightly too long around the middle, but the ending is worth waiting for. I'm currently halfway through Longbourn by Jo Baker, which is a P&P retelling from the viewpoint of the servants to the Bennet family 😊

Thank you for Ivy giggling sounds... It sounded like "Hello" in one point!☺️ I love when we read the same books. I love to hear you toughts and compare it with mine. Almost feels like a conversation...☺️ I liked every Jane Ostin novel so far, and find that spring is great part of the year to read them. (I haven't read none this year😔. Maybe I'll squeeze Castle Lesley in May). I loved more the 1995 adaptation with Colin Firth 😍😍😍😍. I didn't like Kira Nightlys Elizabeth at all 😑. Anyways, I'm glad you've read it and liked it. What is the next classic you'll read for a video? I've read Middllemarch for 7weeks in March and April and didn't really liked it. It was really a struggle! But now I'm continuing on with my Murakami reading. I'll be finnishing Dance, dance, dance today. Hurray! Also, have you read Wayward by Emily Heart (i think it's the name of the book)? It's coming out in serbian soon and I'm thinking of buying it. What are you toughts on that one? Enjoy this beautiful spring with your family. It will just get better and better, believe me. Babies and kids are so cleaver and we learn more from them about the life than they from us. ❤️

Hi! I've never stopped by before, but I was pulled into the fold when I noticed that you had _The Blue Castle_ in the thumbnail. I adore that book and wish it were more widely known, and I entirely agree with your review. Valancy's inner (and sometimes exterior) monologue regarding her family is delightfully _spiky,_ and the nature writing is lovely. I especially liked what you said about the romance, though; how it was present, but almost more as an adjunct to Valancy's overall growth than as the focus of the story. What a great read! I also had to chuckle at your assessment of _The Pictures of Dorian Gray._ Oscar Wilde is sort of known for his bons mots, and your comment on preferring to read him in short bursts seemed fairly apt. I'll agree that _Dorian Gray_ might not be the most re-readable book, but Wilde is a lot of fun in some ways. If you've not yet read it and ever read plays, you may want to consider giving _The Importance of Being Earnest_ a try; I think it's a witty and entertaining satire, despite the somewhat silly premise. I haven't read the others from your review yet, but I've now added some to my TBR list. Thanks for the recommendations!

What a lovely idea to have a collection of 2nd hand and vintage books instead of cards for your baby shower! Books I remember as a child ‘The Wind in the Willows’ which my Dad started reading to me at bedtime, but which I have never read in full either and recently have started reading. Also ‘101 Dalmatians’ and ‘The Starlight Barking’ as well as all of the Famous Five books, my favourite of which were ‘Five go down to the sea’ and ‘Five go off in a caravan’ I also loved a book called ‘Once upon a Rainbow’. The books about Brambly Hedge - Spring Summer Autumn and Winter and and from before that ‘Brer Rabbit, and the Enchanted Wood The dresses you were gifted are gorgeous - I especially liked the white and blue one, both so pretty and the top you were wearing looked quite vintage in style too - very nice

Loved hearing about your recent reads! I enjoyed A Curse for True Love but did feel it was a bit of a let down, especially because I adored the second book. Dorian Gray! I know exactly what you mean re "dark vs milk chocolate" reads! 😂 And yes I completely understand being able to see how incredible a classic book is but not fully enjoying it. Not everything will be your cup of tea, regardless of how great of a piece of literature it is! I couldn't stand The Count of Monte Cristo and DNF'd it but it's a favourite of so many... I can understand why people say it's an amazing book, but it just wasn't for me! I'm so nervous about Ruthless Vows.. so so nervous that I won't like it as much. I'm just going to go in with zero expectations lol. I do like 'war' stories so I might still really enjoy it... We'll see! Ahhh The Blue Castle!!!! One of the most incredible books I've ever read!! 💙💙💙

Ok so I want to take a crack at defending Remains as his best. In my mind, the book is brilliant because its portrayal of fear is so complete. Stevens is fundamentally scared of life, of love, and of his own agency. His inability to make a choice becomes a choice in and of itself. To me, Ishiguro’s defining quality is his ability to blend the tragic with the absurd, and while he does this well in books like NLMG, he executes it perfectly in Remains.

I just started the Blue Castle a few days ago and am loving it! I'm doing Alcott April so I am reading The Inheritance by Louisa May Alcott and some Henry David Thoreau, Emerson and Dickens too. Daisy Jones and the Six is probably my favorite Taylor Jenkins Reid book. Thanks for the video and happy continued reading!

She is great. 😊 The Transcendentalists are some of my favorite writers.

Such a lovely and helpful video. I’ve just ordered The Blue Castle. I loved Anne of Green Gables and when you said it reminded you of my favourite novel- Frenchman’s Creek I was sold! Can’t wait to read it 😊

It’s so so good, I hope you love it 🌷 I really enjoyed The Wishing Game. I hadn’t heard of it before seeing it in Waterstones one day, and I wish more people were talking about it because it’s so wholesome and well written 💕
