- September was such a great reading month, full of atmospheric, gothic, mysterious and romantic reads. Very September-y! 🍂
I'm also very excited for my October reads, and decided to make a little bit of a plan for what I'm going to read. 📖
I hope you enjoy this video. 🧡

Divine Rivals is so magical 😍😍😍
It really is ✨
I commented on your video a while ago saying I was going to read Frenchman's Creek over the summer. I finished it, I really enjoyed it and gave it 4 out of 5 stars. 🙂📚
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! ☺️
The picture of Dorian Gray and Wuthering heights are in my top 5 classics so far
lovee these reccomendations
My favorite read from September was Lessons in Chemistry. It was absolutely amazing.
I'm most excited to read Hangsaman by Shirley Jackson in October!
I’ve heard such good things about that book! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 💛
This is my first video of yours. Excited that in the intro you spoke right to my soul lol. I also am struggling with maternity clothes, there's a HORRIBLE selection out there.. Good luck!
Anyways I wish you all the best, abd good video thanks z x
Yes!! Why is the selection of clothes so bad?😭 It’s so hard to find a cosy warm maternity jumper that looks good over a bump, for example!
Wishing you all the best with your pregnancy too 💛
I’m so glad you enjoyed A Study in Drowning… it’s on my library tbr, but I hadn’t read anything else by Ava Reid, so I was unsure 😊
I also didn’t love The House on the Strand… It was my first du Maurier 😂 having read Frenchman’s Creek, I think I’d safely shelve them as escapist novels that were scandalous in their day, but not very enjoyable at present. I’m reading Rebecca this month and have higher hopes because I know the plot from films.
Every mom friend my age puts off getting them as long as possible, but there’s nothing to feel silly about. I hope you’re blessed in your search with some affordable and comfortable clothes! ❤
Rebecca is amazing - definitely my favourite DuMaurier, and it’s clear why it’s become her most famous work! I really enjoyed Frenchman’s Creek, but The House on the Strand just didn’t sweep me away in the same way. Glad I’m not alone!
And thank you so much! 💛
Hi, I have recently found your channel and have been binge watching all the gorgeous bookish/Cornish content since! Its good to find a British christian book tuber with cosy vibes! Great book recommendations too. I'm not a fantasy reader (the closest I've read to fantasy recently is probably Piranesi which I loved), but am tempted to try a few of your recommendations...
Thank you so much for watching ☺️✨ if you’re not a fantasy reader usually but want to try a book with some fantasy elements, I would definitely recommend The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro or Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman - they’re both books that use their fantasy elements to tell a story about reality - rather than simply magical fantasy stories.
@@readerinareverie Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for those! Kazuo Ishiguro is on my TBR list, I've got The Remains of the Day and randomly found The Unconsoled in a charity shop which I bought as it sounded intriguing ( and was in perfect condition).
Yay baby bump!!❤❤❤
💕
My favourite for September is “Jane Eyre” ❤
I adore Jane Eyre and it’s so perfect for September 😍🍂
I dislike time travel in books too.
I’m glad I’m not alone!
I'm reading Dorian Gray this month too.
I hope you enjoy it too!
I'm new here and was already hooked when you said you will mention DNFs, for me that's a first on booktube and I love normalising just putting books down when they are not for you.
I just finished the secret history and am undecisve what to think about it.
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️
It felt a shame not to mention them, especially when I’ve read a good chunk of them throughout the month!
I still haven’t read the secret history but it’s on my list!
You have a great stack for October. I trust you will enjoy and love the books.
I read A thousand splendid suns twice and cried both times. I haven't read The mountains echoed yet, but his books are so beautiful and touching so I believe you will love it. I read The picture of Dorian Gray a little while ago and I loved it..I trust you will too. It's such a short book so you will fly through it.
I just finished The Island of missing trees by Elif Shafak, I rated it 3 stars.
Enjoy your books and all the best with the renovations in your house.
Looking forward to your reviews for your list of books.
I can already tell I will probably cry at The Mountains Echoed! And I’m so excited to finally read Picture of Dorian Gray!
I hope you have a great reading month in October too 🍂
I couldn't finish The house on the strand either.
It just wasn’t pulling me in the way DuMaurier’s other books have. I hope I’ll eventually read it one day!
