Such a lovely and helpful video. I’ve just ordered The Blue Castle. I loved Anne of Green Gables and when you said it reminded you of my favourite novel- Frenchman’s Creek I was sold! Can’t wait to read it 😊
I really love your videos! I am going back and watching all of your videos! I just finished North and South after watching one of your videos and I loved it so much! Thank you!
It’s so so good, I hope you love it 🌷 I really enjoyed The Wishing Game. I hadn’t heard of it before seeing it in Waterstones one day, and I wish more people were talking about it because it’s so wholesome and well written 💕
Hi! I've never stopped by before, but I was pulled into the fold when I noticed that you had _The Blue Castle_ in the thumbnail. I adore that book and wish it were more widely known, and I entirely agree with your review. Valancy's inner (and sometimes exterior) monologue regarding her family is delightfully _spiky,_ and the nature writing is lovely. I especially liked what you said about the romance, though; how it was present, but almost more as an adjunct to Valancy's overall growth than as the focus of the story. What a great read! I also had to chuckle at your assessment of _The Pictures of Dorian Gray._ Oscar Wilde is sort of known for his bons mots, and your comment on preferring to read him in short bursts seemed fairly apt. I'll agree that _Dorian Gray_ might not be the most re-readable book, but Wilde is a lot of fun in some ways. If you've not yet read it and ever read plays, you may want to consider giving _The Importance of Being Earnest_ a try; I think it's a witty and entertaining satire, despite the somewhat silly premise. I haven't read the others from your review yet, but I've now added some to my TBR list. Thanks for the recommendations!
Thanks so much for watching ☺️ I’m glad to see another fan of The Blue Castle! I also wish it was more widely known because it is such a brilliant read! I might have to try his play then 😂 I definitely enjoyed his style so I’m sure I’ll enjoy some of his other writings!
I want to join this conversation just to say that like @beansfriend7033, I watched this video because I saw The Blue Castle on the thumbnail. I've already read the novel last year but I recently started re-reading it because I found a physical copy. It's so underrated compared to LM Montgomery's Anne Series and I wish more people would find it because it's so good. Valancy reminds me so much of Anne Elliot from Persuasion. Super nice to find people here on RUclips who also love the novel. 🙂🙂🙂 You also gave me an idea to annotate my copy. Thankss for this video
@@Ohhellodenisse Nice comparison to Anne Elliot; she and Valancy do share a general goodness and warmth of heart (although I think Valancy had a _sharpneas_ about her that is perhaps a bit beyond Anne). _Persuasion_ is such a cozy read.
this was so wholesome!!! i loved your descriptions of the books and I feel they are gonna be so good spring reads. BTW where's your mug from???? its literally gorgeous
I just started the Blue Castle a few days ago and am loving it! I'm doing Alcott April so I am reading The Inheritance by Louisa May Alcott and some Henry David Thoreau, Emerson and Dickens too. Daisy Jones and the Six is probably my favorite Taylor Jenkins Reid book. Thanks for the video and happy continued reading!
I am so grateful for every little moment to read. It’s become a different kind of love though, as it’s never an option to binge-read or read a whole book in a day. Instead it’s something to take time over and savour, which has really made me appreciate reading in a different way 💛
Loved hearing about your recent reads! I enjoyed A Curse for True Love but did feel it was a bit of a let down, especially because I adored the second book. Dorian Gray! I know exactly what you mean re "dark vs milk chocolate" reads! 😂 And yes I completely understand being able to see how incredible a classic book is but not fully enjoying it. Not everything will be your cup of tea, regardless of how great of a piece of literature it is! I couldn't stand The Count of Monte Cristo and DNF'd it but it's a favourite of so many... I can understand why people say it's an amazing book, but it just wasn't for me! I'm so nervous about Ruthless Vows.. so so nervous that I won't like it as much. I'm just going to go in with zero expectations lol. I do like 'war' stories so I might still really enjoy it... We'll see! Ahhh The Blue Castle!!!! One of the most incredible books I've ever read!! 💙💙💙
Haha I’m glad you understand my rambling about chocolate and books 😂 I think most people loved Ruthless Vows so it honestly might just be me 🙈 I was expecting to like The Blue Castle, but it surprised me that it topped Anne of Green Gables for me! I can’t believe I let it sit on my shelves for so long before finally reading it! 😍
Daisy Jones and the Six was actually inspired by Fleetwood Mac, so good guess. 😂 I loved it too, especially the penguin audio book.
Ahh it was a good guess then 😂 I bet it’s great as an audiobook with all of the different voices!
Btw the blue castle is one of my all time favourites too 💗
Omg I came across your channel for the first time and i feel so happy and blessed cause i love your energy and videos so much you're so cute ❤❤
I am so glad you loved The Blue Castle! It’s one of my favorite classics. I want to reread it now:)
I loved it so much 😍 it will definitely be a book I re-read again!

Thank you so much 🥰 the mug is from Oliver Bonas. I bought it last year but I think they’re still selling it 🍓
I really enjoyed The Wishing Game, I want to read The Blue Castle now. Thanks for the recommendation.

I really need to read Louisa May Alcott at some point!
She is great. 😊 The Transcendentalists are some of my favorite writers.
Hi Jen. The Blue Castle is one of my favourites. There will be an adaptation this year.😊
Oh really? That’s so exciting! 😍
So happy you have read so much after becoming a mom ❤
