  • Happy New Year friends!
I recently decided to challenge myself to see how many books I could pick up with the tiny budget of £5, as I have been devouring books lately and needed to find a way of getting lots of books for not a lot of money. I also wanted to search carefully for unique books - particularly books I had never heard of before. Thankfully there are plenty of charity shops nearby, and lots of people donating their unwanted gifts from Christmas, which made for a great haul!
I hope you enjoy book browsing with me!

I loved this video! Fun challenge, relaxing vibes. The closed bookshop dilemma has happened to my husband and me on so many trips 😂 the coffee shop looked lovely by the water, though! I’m so happy you’re resting and enjoying some books before your next chapter begins ❤

      Thank you so much! 💕
It’s so frustrating isn’t it! 🥲 Having grown up in cities, it still surprises me when shops are closed at peak times here in Cornwall 😂 but at least there is always a cosy coffee shop ☕️

What a fun challenge! Also ‘how to describe The Works’ hahah same 😂 you can always find an absolute bargain in there, can’t believe how cheap their books are. Great challenge, I feel like giving this a go ☺️

Family of Liars was one of my favourite books last year! I wasn’t sure whether I was going to really enjoy it, but I liked the characters and loved the vibe!!

Ah that’s so good to hear. I haven’t heard a whole lot about it so I’m intrigued to read it after enjoying We Were Liars so much!

Such a charming, fun challenge! I love the idea of it so much, especially trying out new books from OP or charity stores. I have tried that a bit in bookfests and it can be quite fun ❤. The footage from that neighbouring town is so lovely. I love that you get to show us a bit of the scenery where you are in the UK along with the books ❤.
Wishing you a most blessed January, Jen, and also sending a prayer for you and the safe arrival of your little girl 💛✨️

Thank you so much Joy 💛 I just love the idea of discovering a new favourite that I would never have heard of otherwise.
Thank you for your prayers 💕 I hope you are also having a wonderful January so far!

Yes it is, but with the delivery costs the books end up being quite a bit more expensive than I could find them in a second hand shop. It is definitely good for when there is a specific book I’m looking for though!
