can you consist locomotives if using DC for your layout wiring?
Only if all the engines in the consist have a Blunami decoder and you are using the bluerail app
I cant describe how annoyed i am by how paywalled the allagash is. MRH is all about paywalls.
I understand. There are snip-its on the interweb here and there. I hope my video gives you some more insight. If not I would bite the bullet and buy the dvd's
Is this run 8 or rolling line?
Rolling line

Hello, I came across your channel by chance. If someone films and builds the details faithfully, it's probably you WOW.😳 thank you for sharing Greetings Christian🤠👍
Thanks Christian! Great to hear you like my channel.
Cool
Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
Черт, бро, я сначала подумал про реальную жизнь
Thanks! I wish it was real.
Cool design! Anyone used a design similar to this for a double deck module with a light valance for the top deck as well? Or would the height/weight make it too unstable?
Hi Brent, good to hear you like the desigm. I am not aware of anyone using this design for a two deck. It could work but will require some extra supports in the form of more and bigger legs.
How do you carry the cards that are in the train, as the train moves?
That is a good question. For now we carry them by hand and lay them on the layout. I am on the lookout for a card holder that one can screw to the front of the fascia. The holder should be able to hold the cards side by side so one can still read them. Like a shelf, but with some clamping function so the AC doesn't blow the cards off. Hope that answers your question.
hi nice plans but my question is ... What trains u got in Dubai the oryginal ??? i need to know :)
Thanks so much for making this video and sharing your insights with the rest of us. * subscribed *
Your welcome. I never saw anything similar in the MRR scene so here you go!
your channel name is dubai trains do you live in dubai? because i aso live in dubai.
Yes exactly
@@DubaiTrains wow I saw that you have a public layout it would be a pleasure to visit
Howzit : As previous; perchance do you have a Track Plan ( With Measurements ) of Roger's GREAT N+FC RR Layout ? Thank You / John
All good here. I don't have any dimensions and can't recall having ever seen any. Maybe you will get lucky if you search for the layout online.
@@DubaiTrains 🤙🙏
I think the meaning of 'Shelf' has gotten lost here . . . An Inglenook type layout, or a small shunting yard in a space, say, 36-48" x 12-18" is more what it's about, not something that can take a continual circuit.
Agreed that the word shelf is flexible. This layout is made on an actual shelf hanging from the wall.
Outstanding design. Very impressive !
Mine is going to have a " False top or false bottom"" So I can lift the top to do my wiring instead of crawling under the table. I have no problem getting under the table, It's this useful thing called gravity. But I have a hard time getting back into my wheelchair because of this useless thing called gravity😂. lift the top do my wiring no problem. PLUS I realized I have the added bonus of having staging tracks under the "table top", By leaving enough space between between the top bottom and the bottom bottom... Or depending on your point of view between the two tops🤔🤣. No crawling around underneath the table😁
All that crawling underneath the layout is a challenge we all face! I tried to mitigate the issue somewhat by at least making all the work that needs to happen under the layout, as easy and fast as possible.
See what?!!? 🤔😂 That is something I would definitely do, don't feel bad!!
😂 nothing to see, move along!
Very good design and explanation of options.
Thanks Garrick
Finally another video!
Yes! Long time. I have been very busy.
I much like it!!!!
Great to hear. Thank you!
Great design. Should be a great looking layout. Thanks for sharing. Dave
Thanks Dave
Nice job Bart!
Glad you are Back
Thanks. I have a video in mind explaining what is happening behind the scenes.
@@DubaiTrains We have never met, have only chatted with you in reference to your video's ( Im the 0 scale guy doing M.R.) But When some one goes Dark for a period of time, I get concerned.
@davidkoehler136 Thanks David for the concerns. I need to update the community. I have wanted to do that for a while but am only now in the position to do so. Nothing bad, don't worry! I am working on a very big commercial layout. That has and is taking almost all of my time. Here a sneak preview: ruclips.net/video/6PyKQ6kcfGE/видео.htmlsi=HfDUtyMzoEgQKjhY
that looks like a great system, I think I will be sending you the fee to purchase, thanks
Thanks! Ill be on the lookout.
THANK YOU FOR DETAILED LAYOUT
Great layout!
Thanks ;-) It took me a while to finally make the video.
Looking great 👍😎👍🏁
I yelled about music in another vid -- this one is much less intrusive, thanks. That was a really good design process 'discussion.'
Shut. OFF. The Music. Or turn it down by half, not a little. This is 2 years old and I just subbed here from an older vid. I hope this doesn't happen a lot.
Hi Jim, it isn't possible to mix the volume when published. So it is what it is for now. The newer videos have better audio.
[thank, you for you're great video]👍
Welcome
You mentioned adding sand to the roof for the texture. One thing I’ve done is used baking soda in black paint to add texture. Then I can paint over it again if it’s taken on too much of a lighter color from the powder. It has worked well especially for making a weathered stone texture for table top games.
I would have never come up with that technique. I'll give it a try.
Nice design, bridges always present a challenge as each application is unique to the layout. I agree with the safety stop approach with your layout, electrical safety switches wouldn't work as well. I used the safety switches as my layout design didn't require it, but I also can run into the same issue should I run them in reverse for any reason. I used a linear actuator for the lifting mechanism. Check out my video... Model RailRoad Bridge Episode 2
A linear actuator sounds fancy! You could equip that with a motion sensors so the gate opens automatically when you approach it. Of course all interlocked with the rail traffic ;-)
Great building, very nice design. Perfect for that industrial spur.
remember big table for big trains and small tables for small trains other way around would look ridiculous! i choose loop to loop on a small n scale table
Helpful video.
Great to hear. I hope it saved you a few basic mistakes.
The audio is so distracting that I really couldn't enjoy the video
Very helpful video! Although I’m still not clear on all the parts of the system I’m really looking forward to adding this system to my switch aspect of my railroad! Thanks 🚂🚞🚞🚞
Excellent video: clear explanation of polarity considerations. You have to be well heeled to afford Peco UniFrogs!
Thanks. If using peco turnouts doesn't fit your budget, I would suggest to still use peco turnouts but to cut the number of turnouts to compensate. I would rather have fewer good working turnouts the several problematic ones.
Is this based on the Kingsbury Branch in Chicago?
Hi J. Yes it is. I have a video on that somewhere. I would say inspired more then based. I took the core elements and made my own.
This is looking really good. I loved the intro, too. By the way, I have recently moved to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Do you know anything about the model railroading scene there or in Dubai where you are. It would be great to meet up with some others. Keep up the great work!
The modellers world is small in this region. But seek and you shall find!
Track in the BR era got filthy within weeks of new ballast being laid. Because trains had "Brake blocks" not stupid "Motor car" type disc brakes, so large clouds of brake block dust covered tracks and the cess. Further trains didn't have "Chemical" toilets, the crap just got dumped on the track, which is why every toilet had a notice "Please do not use toilet when the train is standing in a station" !!! So track went what is known as "Track Colour", and the two major railway paint specialists "Precision paints" & "Railmatch" both produce paint & spray paints in "Track colour" & "Sleeper grime", amongst many other special railway colours !!!!
This track color leaves a real mess, both in HO and the real thing.
Your rail road looks great except for the paved areas and then they suck. Watch Boomer Diorama and see how the paved areas can look easily. He is a master and a great teacher,
I think I am gonna try your track weathering on my Kato track. Your layout looks amazing. Thanks for sharing. Dave
Hi Dave, that could be a fast way to improve the unitrack look. Interested to see how it works out.
Beautifully composed scene. Love the spur that dead ends between the buildings. Great visual trick. Looks like it keeps on going. Roads, signs and ground cover all look great. The mix and sheer number of vehicles bring the whole scene to life with a busy look that says this is the late 50's and, oh yeah, the intro is superb.
Thanks Thomas, I am also quite please with how the scene turned out. Can't wait to have the first operation session and see it all come to life.
Well done industrial scene!
Excellent progress! Looks awesome! 👍
Thanks
