Welcome to my channel! Here I share my passion for model trains. I show everything from building benchwork, backdrops, track work, wiring, weathering, realistic train operations and book reviews. Everything you need to get started in the hobby no matter what scale! Please subscribe if you want to see more.
I LOVE this layout! You really did a great job on this one! For someone who doesn't have 15' of space to spare, it would be easy to shorten this if necessary.
Thanks Ron! A case of: "less = more"
Great little layout man!
Thanks Mr. Bond.
Great stuff
Thanks 31 goofy goalie's
So out of curiosity, was this plan done with Flex Track Atlas Code 80 or all Kato Uni-track?@@DubaiTrains
This one is done in Kato unitrack. I can remake it in any track of your preference.
I really like this... scratches a lot of itches. How wide is the East West part? Could the top part be against a wall?
Hi Northmill, the layout is meant as a shelf layout. It goes against the wall on both sides and the back. The right and left wings are 33.5" deep.
You can find the entire design and track parts list on my patreon.
I just realized that it would be very, very easy to add a staging yard to this layout without taking up much additional space. In N scale, staging yards are almost a "must have" feature, as you can get a LOT more operation with a very small investment of space. Just a mere six tracks or so would really do a lot to make this layout, or any other, into a far more interesting endeavor.
By the way, what software program do you use to design your layouts???
Hi Ron,
Yes staging is great. I try to add it where I can especially if folks are into that. For this layout you can easily add staging off to the side. A 3" shelf can do miracles.
I use Anyrail.
YEAH, I was thinking exactly the same thing when I was looking at this. That same interconnect line up in the northeast could easily be sceneried into a tunnel so that trains can sneak off into a separate staging yard if there's room for it. You could even curl that yard around to run parallel to the east end of the layout table to give yourself plenty of extra space to stage everything and bring whatever you want into the layout.
What would be the dimensions if this layout was HO?
Twice as big ? 30 x 12ft. It can be compressed a little bit. But the benchwork at the 180 turns will be very deep, too deep actually unless you can access them from both sides.
