M3 Headlight Restoration featuring Auxito

I re-enact a parody of an infomercial talking about how easy it is to restore headlights. I sand the headlight lenses down using a range of 400 grit to 1500 grit sandpaper. I then use 2K clearcoat in 2 passes to cover the headlight lenses to look like new. I also swap out the OEM bulbs for a set of LED bulbs from Auxito, found here: www.auxito.com/FH8TWlClNhwsUg Use 15% COUPON CODE: MARKO

Do you even lift?? The Only Lift You Need for Small Garages

I bit the bullet and finally got myself a proper car lift for my tiny-a$$ garage, and for tight spaces its the best value car lift you can get! Probably safe to say that this restoration was done with personal use in mind vs flipping the car. Too bad all resellers don’t do work at this level of detail.
Make what you got work. That's what we do as men. 😁
What does the vibration sound like? Im trying to diagnose mine
The vibration feels like something is unbalanced, there isn't really a noise or sound its more of a feeling and especially noticeable at 2000-4000 rpm when accelerating moderately not at full throttle. Have you changed motor mounts recently too or no?
Como novo!!!
I just bought the same lift in England and here at least it doesn't need a 20 amp supply; we have 240 volts meaning it only uses about 10 amps. The switch still says 20 amps though, I assume that's just what the switch is rated at. By the way, can the end panels when locked in the raised position take the weight of a car? A assume some jobs will be easier if the wheels are parked on the lift rather than floating.
The wheels of pretty much every car are too far apart to be parked on the end ramps (unless its an original mini or smart car). Yes when extended they can take the weight but closers to the middle of ramps, when you get to the extreme ends they start bending a bit and although they hold I don't like going under the car that way. Cheers!
It’s nice to see a RUclipsr from Toronto that fixes bmw. Would you know anything with the 645ci?
No sorry never worked on a 6 series before, is that the one you have?
My garage in markham Ontario is the same size. It’s small and I want a 4 post installed but maybe this one is the better option
toy for toy cars
does this go 1000mm or 1200mm in height
I think its 1100mm
thanks 🙏
..my garage is small too...the horror😕....ps,...what is the maximum height that lift will go?
110cm or however many inches that is
I will keep my QuickJack I can store it out of the way and it does everything I need it to.
Will this work in outdoors? Can it withstand water, snow for exampe? All I have is a yard and no lift yet, but im finding that i will definitely need it soon, because crawling under a car in snow is not a good option. Im planning unbolting transmissions and engines, why are you calling this the worst case scenarios? Is it hard to do this with such lift?
The issue with removing transmissions and engines with a lift like this is it has 2 metal bars running in between the side panels that you drive over, so wheeling anything heavy under the middle of the car isn't possible unless you sink the link into the ground 4-5 inches. I don't think this lift will survive multiple seasons under snow/water to be honest, I think rust will become an issue pretty quickly but I haven't tested it... Cheers
@@DeadEndRestorations I live in Europe so most of the cars are FWD there, would this bar still be an obstacle in such cases?
Seeing you struggle replacing all the mounting points and CSB. Im just gonna replace the whole driveshaft LOL. I found one for 300 from Amazon, Ill let you know how it goes.
It will work fine for a while but the bearing will probably wear out pretty fast...
Cool lift. i'm also having a smaller garage with limited space, and would like to know how you handle jobs that requires access on the sides. Would a 2 post lift be better or would the poles introduce other issues? How have the lift worked out for you during the year.. still satisfied?
I still love it, but yes doing work on the sides is trickier. I use wooden blocks to get some more clearance for removing side skirts, underbody panels etc. Ideally 2 post gives you much more clearance but they are more expensive, require deeper concrete footings and a lot more space!!
Can you advise what the spec of the ground is? As in concreate depth, type, hard core etc?
just regular garage concrete, no idea of depth sorry!
super high quality vid, subscribed instantly
Appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed it.
Absolutely beautiful E34 540i. Long live the E34
Maravilloso trabajo. Felicitaciones desde Chile.
I'm curious how do you understand that vibration is coming from driveshaft? I have vibration of the body at about 60 mph / 100 kph. The tires all balanced, rear one brand new Michelin. Rims are good, no bends. I'm fighting with this issue for about three months already.
Try to see if its speed dependent only or also rpm/driveline dependent as well. Try pushing in the clutch or coasting in neutral and see if the vibration is still there or not. You want to isolate if its just wheels, or if its engine/transmission/driveshaft/differential etc. Change one thing at a time to see if anything changes then go from there. Hope that helps!
@@DeadEndRestorations Thanks! Will check everything as you suggested.
made in china...???
great video! Keep doing what you're doing!
Thank you! Will do!
how much time did you spend restoring the car ?
Over 1.5 years but I was working slowly and exclusively evenings and at night. Overall probably about 200-250 hours. Thanks!
Exact same width as my garage, thanks for the review!
Looks like fun 🤘🏻
There's me getting annoyed when I got the measuring tape and fixing 11' .. 9' would bring tears. But yes.. we must make do. I'm currently slowly modifying my garage into my own set up. I have experience with these lifts. I really really want a 2 post. But with full height. My walls are 8' but most of all 2 post are 9' 4" .. so without mods I'd only get in a scissor lift. My intention is to install and with them being 50+ cm flat height.. I'm going to run concrete runs in line with the ramp. Then bolt down studs, lay insulation and ply/flooring on top. Then if planned correctly no cold feet etc, the ramp comes up out of the smooth floor. Less trip hazards etc. but yes, these things are game changers. The main reason I don't want a scissor is the likes of rear axle work. Lack of access for removal etc. but front end is fine. 2 post just means nothing is impossible.
all good points and I agree - eventually I plan on cutting into the concrete and laying this down flush with the ground. Still, better than crawling around and using a pump jack and 15 minutes to raise/lower the car each time! Good luck with your project, cheers
i just had to buy a new bleeder screw the rear drivers side was rounded off on the top, can i do the front 2 yet or should i wait until i can get this one done first?
wait because you want to bleed the rears first then the fronts. good luck!
👏👏👏👏👏👏
You know this guy is a pro by the final brush striping...
If you plan to return to the track, I recommend spending time with a driving coach, who would teach you how to have the car under better control ;)
what coolers are you running?
Which kind of coolers are you referring to? I don't have brake cooling ducts but its definitely the first thing to install if I plan on tracking it again
Man that Golf R is SICK!!!!
Respect to the high miler M3 on the track!😎Glad it survived and you had fun! Your 300k kms (186k miles) is way more than mine at 85k miles! Re traction control, did you turn it completely off? Or got to MDM mode? (I haven't tried even the latter yet, still quite new to track days, but I plan to use MDM next year). I track mine too, re your 3 points though for track use, I only really agree with point 3. I find even with Ferrodo 2500s I have to limit track time to 20 mins (and actually, that was with a wet track day, so I might have to lower that for a dry warm day!). Suspension and weight seem fine for the track (except the latter contributing to the brakes issues of course!).
Initially i had M mode traction but it was too intrusive so i turned it off fully. Glad to hear you’re enjoying it!!
@@DeadEndRestorations I'd be too scared I'd lose it with it right off! lol
👍
Took mine to the track this year too it was a blast! I think my front right wheel bearing started to sieze though. Did you do your wheel bearings? My brakes were making the ticking sound too.
Nice! Yes i replaced both my fronts a few months ago and no issues there
Sorry you got rid of the 530i. Upgrades of various systems would have been great. Much enjoyed!!
Looks like for me that the track suits the Golf R more than the M3. On a track like the Nürburgring the M3 is the faster car, but you are right the e9x need a lot of mods when you use her on the track.
Yes on a faster track it would dominate, but not on twisty medium speed tracks like this. Cheers!
Hope you didnt sell it for a Golf R 😂
No way! 😂

BELLE E34 TRÈS BEAU MODÈLE
Hello. Great video (thanks). I have a question about this life (unable to get a reply from the vendor). Before making a big purchase like this, I need to ask: What type of hydraulic cylinders are used on this lift? They will inevitably go bad (they always do). I would like to know pre-purchase what type they are and their general availability. I would like to know ID, OD, capacity and stroke length. Thank you.
these are all great vids dude. Glad you made them. Glad i found them :)
Appreciate the support man!
Current price $2,699.00.
Thanks, the link and price should be pinned
Exceptional good video, thanks a lot! I plan to do this in a couple of days, the idea of cranking the engine dry with a pulled fuel pump relay is astounding, very good. The new tensioner came retracted - do i install it if it's extended or retracted? My M60 is installed in a E30, quite a Frankenstein car. :)
I love your videos, but I don't understand how you don't have a million subscribers already…
