Well I've been sceptical that the X Dome wouldn't be able to handle moderate winds, it's all well and good take a weight on the top but 30+ gusts from the side... ? Well its been well and truly proven its a solid 3+ season tent, especially when the solid inner version come out. A guy took it into the mountains in the Lake District (uk) and put it through its paces in 30-40mph and driving snow. I'm so pleased to be proven wrong or at least had it proven to me i can trust the X Dome. Superb.

When is the 1 person DCF free standing coming ??🤞

This guide is helpfull to learn how to pitch in the wind. I pitched it today and it was easy to do. Love it ! Good job Dan ! I'm impatient to see @WildBeare to do a video with an x-dome in the worst conditions.

New X-Dome just arrived this afternoon ... the moment when type 2 fun becomes type 1 fun! The woods are lovely, dark and deep, This tent and I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.

I think that Mr Durston is on to a winner with the X Dome. Another well thought out and designed tent. I can see it being real popular here in the UK, as it's a true one man, ultralight freestanding tent. I'm personally waiting to see how this will compare to the two man version, before I make a decision

Mine landed a couple days ago... Bought the 1P Solid and love using it in colder temps... I'll use the X-Dome a few times and decide on selling, or keeping, the 1P Solid. Durston tents are so reasonably priced I might just keep both. Thanks Dan Durston!!

Haven't even set up my tent once yet and I'm in love with it :) refreshingly practical and simple explanations. I'm about to head off to South America for 6 months and the x-mid 2 will be my home :). One thing you could mention on your website is the import fees, had to pay half the tents value again when it arrived here in Belgium, but yeah that's on me not doing my homework. Still would have bought it anyway tbh.

You mention the number of guy out points varies depending on the model... Makes me hopeful the solid version will be more stormworthy

Do you need to fold it or can it be stuffed back into bag? Feel like I have been taught to stuff and not fold over the years!

Question; will the Z-Flick poles add any storm worthiness, or do you recommend only using trekking poles for those conditions? I love all my Durston equipment. Mine arrives in a few days I can't wait to get it out on our annual black Friday backpacking trip. It's pretty cool to get a look at some of the different options available while setting up the tent.

I'm very optimistic about this tent! It seems to improve on its closest competitor in weight, size, cost, and functionality (fly first and fly rollback).

Would you say this is your most snow resistant tent (with the trekking poles added), or would that be one of the Mid designs?

My X-Dome arrives on Tuesday here in the UK, so can’t wait. The (nice!) problem I have is that I have all four X-Mid models, so some rationalisation is in order!

When are we able to buy standalone inners?

Mine just came in today, something that is legitimately shocking is how small both the fly and the inner pack down. I also hadn't even considered leaving the inner connected to the fly when you pack it all up.

Thanks Dan, good timing! My 1+ dome is delivering tomorrow so I'll be testing how to pitch it in my living room. I probably won't go so far as to blow up my sleeping pad or sleep in there but I will be rolling out a yoga mat and lay in it to get a feel for how I'll use it next season. I'm super excited to experience the new tent!!
