All 4 Jeopardy! Games on NES - NESfriend
I had this game when I was a little kid. Had absolutely no idea what I was doing. Never won. Had a blast. 10/10
Love both of these games, but mainly only in 2 player mode now. Good to see Track and Field 2 get some love, I feel like it gets overshadowed by its predecessor. -Cast
I love the NES version, I’ve been playing it for over 30 years now and have never made it to the Eliminator. Levels 3 and 4 get pretty brutal. I live streamed an attempt at the game a couple of months ago and hit a snag on the Level 3 Joust. -Cast
For some reason I had it in my head as a kid that I loved this game. I think I just thought Dr. Kwack and Mr. Fogg were cool names (I thought Zordirz was a glitch and his name didn’t show up right) so I convinced myself the game was awesome. I still own a cartridge, I’ll have to fire it up one day and punish myself. -Cast
Don't you love when ports of Commodore 64 games leave pixels doubled up widthwise all over the background art rather than making any attempt to add definition in the supported resolution?
Every time I hear the little Mario tune I'm transported back to rhe first day I got my NES, then I get really sad knowing that the sense of wonder and discovery I felt then has little chance of ever coming back. Oh and Xevious was one of my favorite games I played when Dad would take me to the pool hall that also had about twenty coin ops lining the walls. It may look plain today but in 1983 it looked pretty great sitting next to fixed screen games
Oddly enough, the word "wurm" also means dragon. Perhaps while in development, the name was related to cut content involving such. By the way, I appreciate how thoughtfully put together your videos are. You have a decent channel, friend. Keep it up.
80s aesthetics always look cool and badass to me.🤘
I could never get past the electric guy😞
He can be pretty rude
F4s gun i use to pop. Sams or tag migs head on before they pass over u Using radar screen helps Going vertical and down behind migs 4 a missile shot works circling the radar screen not so much
Launch left arrow and don't worry about the landing gear it will retract on its own. Landing: lower gear come down to about level 225. Wait bring down to 90 then cut power at yellow shirts head. That should land u on the number 3 wire. Anywhere between 92 - 89 works if u can't get 90.
WALK THROUGH LA DINDS: lighty come. Down on deck with wheels down hook up Stay about altitude 70. Put hook down on wire 3. Yes.i need a life 😅
Navy F4s don't have a gun! As migs pass u i go vertical & come down behind and missile soot em, they can't shoot backwards. Still looking for Sams Intruder try to hit target s till sections 10 - 12. Wat h 4 Sams more than aiming 4 target s.
Zoom! is a top-five 16-bit era puzzler. ✨👾✨
3:48 - A circle can be plenty terrifying, if it shows up before the period on your bank statement! (Granted, it's more of an oval, but still.)
Had this game as a kid. literally did not understand 1 screen of it. then again, I was 6? Thanks Uncle Bob!
A new NESfriend! A nice surprise before an eye appointment. I can see (pun intended) why some call this hidden jasper. Another great video, Trav!
About an hour to finish? Hmm...I suppose I can spare an hour.
This game would have blown my mind back in the day. So many different play styles and variations, plus a story. Sure, it looks basic my today's standards, but I would have loved this as a kid!!!
What a surprise to see this! Sitting up here waiting on a kid to finish midnight snack, this was a great review to look up to! Merry Christmas! Bill Chicago
I’m pretty sure “depth defying” was an intentional play on words, as the title is “Journey to the center of the Earth”. Also “unlimited continue” is proper English. It is more common today for us to say “unlimited continues”, noting that there isn’t a set and specific number value for continues. However continuing is a game feature that not all games have and it can be set to various formats, such as credit/coin continue, game doesn’t feature a continue mechanic, unlimited continue, and limited continue. In this use of the term, it is not related to a numerical idea, but rather a game mechanic title.
As for wurm, that is a common spelling for dragon and serpent like creatures appearing in real world mythologies as well as fantasy games and novels. In the real world mythologies they tend to be creatures that live in underground lairs, which fits with the naming of the vehicle and game title.
If it's spelled like that, it might be the German word "Wurm", which still means "worm", but it's pronounced like "vuhrm". 🪱 I can't remember if I mentioned this before on one of your other videos, but just in case not: I appreciate how you render your videos in 4:3. I have a big fullscreen monitor, and with no pillarboxes, your videos look excellent on it. 📺
This game is basically that movie about restarting the Earth's core.
I don't care what anyone says, this game is rad. It and Lone Ranger were some of the most ambitious games on the system.
Another 10,000 bonus points to NES Friend for covering a game I hadn't seen before even though I lived through the era and have been watching RetroGameTube pretty much since its inception.
Thanks Trav! A positive review this Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa eve!
What a fun video. Great job. Make it easier next time. I only got 3 right.
I remember staying up super late one Friday or Saturday night as a kid and playing all the way through this game in a single marathon session. By the time I finished, I was half-delirious from lack of sleep, and then I wondered years later if I'd just made the game up somehow. I mainly remember those long side-scrolling mazes on foot, kicking everybody to death to save ammo, and trying to figure out who to talk to over and over during the boss fights to bring my "possibility" up to 100%. I'll always fondly remember it, though. I mean, barely, too, but fondly. Fondly and barely. Like a really great one-night stand, which it was, I suppose.
NES Friend showing everyone his WURM at Christmas like a drunk Uncle...
A gift from an underrated Channel. Thank you!
I didn't know I wanted WURM for Christmas, but NES Friend knows how to deliver!
While it’s awkward at (many) times, I actually like this game a lot, but didn’t have it as a kid. I found out about it back during the ScrewAttack Terrible Thursday days. Seeing them play through this thing was hilarious, because the “plot” is all sorts of crazy, and there is truly a shocking number of different gameplay types here for the time. 😁
I've got to give them props for advertising 1 meg x 1 meg MMC3 as well as Vertical + Horizontal Scrolling. All us kids cared about in 1991 was the size of the program and character rom, the mapper being used, and if the game had scrolling in all directions.
Nice Christmas surprise! Thank you, NES Friend! :-)
Hell yea, got a new NES Friend vid for Christmas!
This game is known as Chitei Senkuu Vazolder in Japan, published by SOFEL (who also made Casino Kid and Wall Street Kid).
Merry Christmas! 🎄👍🏿👍🏿✌🏿
I played this when I was 10 yo. And now I wonder how the hell I was able to beat this brutal game.
You were a prodigy!
Where's part 2!!!
I'm having a hard time, but I like the first time challenge and it's really fun.
Oh hey it family dog guy
Hey Sarah, yeah it's me. Family Dog guy. I hope Family Dog finds you well. What's not to love about family, dogs, and families of dogs? You tell me. I'm just some guy. Thanks for stopping by and happy holidays. I hope you get a dog. Or a family. Whichever you need most.
@NESFriend happy holiday to you and family dog
SnesDrunk brought me here
Join the dog family
I only got Top Gun. Also, SNES Drunk says he loved Family Dog, and please keep recommending it.
I knew that ol son of a gun would come around
Family dog is mid sorry
Mid as in the middle of my heart
How dare you.
Y u love Family Dog long time so much?
Family Dog is a chance to be a real dog. Knock over vases, run away from your owner, bark at children. What's not to love?
How is it that we all played this game? I swear it was almost right up there with Mario Bros. And Duck Hunt.
Yeah it was a pretty common game. Still easy to find.
Loved this game! Also another great thing about it besides the graphics and the music was the sound design. The chomp chomp chomp and little details like spitting out the extra parts like wings or fins or springs. And the “duh duh..duh duh” Jaws like sound effect when in the water was great to warn you of the shark. The swimming levels were my favorite. They worked very well and took some pressure off of the platforming. I got pretty good at it where I could consistently get to the boss. But I could never beat it. The last foot just had way too much HP and you’d sit there licking that foot waiting for it to pop. 😂 Also snakes?? I thought you liked family dog?
I have a very vague memory of this game. I couldn’t remember if I played it until that demon and I was like yep. I remember that one. Also why cats? I thought you loved family dog?
What the heck?? You need to use 2 controllers?? Well, 40 years later and that explains a lot. Also why do you like familydog so much?
Yeah, what were they thinking? Seems like a weird design choice. But then you have to stop and wonder, maybe they were lonely? Maybe they thought that having a cute, trusty, and loyal companion to play the game with would be fun. Maybe they were thinking about Family Dog.
Family Dog
Yes, we can be best friends.
Hello NES Friend! SNES Drunk sent his viewership to ask you why you like Family Dog so much. So, here I am. Cheers!
Friend, I love your profile pic. One of my all-time favorite memes. And that's really at the heart of what I love about Family Dog. Two of my all-time favorite things in this world are my family and dogs (that meme is like, third). When you put them together, what do you get? Family Dog, of course. It's just simple math, that's all.
@@NESFriend Thanks for the friendly explanation, friend! Just a couple of days ago I saw a commenter who had the same profile picture as me, which also made me smile, so I think I understand the sensation quite well. :)
