You picked the worse weather for your visit. I've had some great days in November when the winds have been gentler. Bearded Tits all over the reserve but especially in the corner by the sluice. BTW, there's a great cafe in Oare village by the creek.

The issue I have with Sheppey is transport. I don't drive so I'm reliant on public transport and my own two feet to get anywhere. I live in London and there are two places I love to go, Dovercourt and Walton on the Naze. My main interest is Wading birds so in the winter the Essex coast is fantastic. On the impossible list for me is Fetlar on Shetland, it's the best place in the UK to see Red necked Phalarope but it's an absolute nightmare to get to

    • @ChrisGoesWild

Hi Chris, I like your videos a lot, so I hope you don't mind this feedback but I think the geese around 1.40 are White-fronted Geese; if you look at them carefully you can see bars across their bellies, white flashes around their bills and they don't have big white patches on their wings like Greylags. There was a large flock of these on the Isle of Sheppey over the winter.

The blades shed bisphenols into the surrounding environment in tiny microparticles. These remain in the environment indefinitely where they get ingested by birds and other wildlife, and eventually into us via the food chain. Bisphenols are highly toxic and cause reproductive problems and gender distortion issues. The EU has recently reduced the maximum safe daily intake in via foodstuffs over a thousandfold, though of course you will not see this in the media. Just do a quick search into wind turbines, bisphenols and food legislation and I guarantee that you will be alarmed. We are currently fighting to stop a massive windfarm being built on the banks of a pristine estuary here on the west coast of Ireland.
